  1. Exactly - in today's footy, there's no way that the forward press would allow him room or the one-on-one.
  2. Therein might lie the problem - if he can't be coached or get some mongrel injected into him, it might be time to look to other options. Personalities can change once that white line is crossed.
  3. Darling had an incident in some night club and West Coast made sure every recruiter knew about it - great tactic. BTW, they also started the hype that young footballers get homesick from the west and want to return home - another great tactic Who's their recruiter? Let's get him!
  4. Great observations.......but, the world doesn't stand still. The press (as a game plan) came in three or four years ago, yet our club is implementing it now! We're miles behind polished, great kicking sides that will murder us if we don't hold our composure. By the time we're ready so will GCS, GWS, Tigers, Roos, Freo etc etc. The players need to get better now. They've had about 500 games pumped into them by now and it's time to roll.
  5. That's right bing 181, but these 20 year old really held their own and crashed packs and attacked packs and made position and disposed effectively and found space and ran and ran and ran and ran....... WYL is right, we have to fire these kids up or they'll quickly become a trivial pursuit question at some primary school fund raiser.
  6. Some offerings from other posters resonates with me - we don't have the leadership to set training and playing standards.....yet. The Bailey/Daniher boys might be on their last chance.
  7. I concur with all your comments but let's not forget their canny, clever drafting. Game plan is one thing, drafting those who can accede to the vision is another.
  8. And therein lies my point - we've all seen this kid make other players look silly with his skills, but it's time to impose himself, once and for all.
  9. Well, no - if you read them properly, my comments do not relate directly in any ad hominem attacks on Watts, more his development and footy abilities. Your comment was snide and directed at me.
  10. I only like to talk footy - I won't get drawn into snide remarks.
  11. Watts deserves all the heat he gets. He hates competing. Kick to kick pony.
  12. 90% of the early picks in the 2008 draft year are really imposing themselves on the AFL - check it out for yourself. Bigger, stronger, get the ball, and really work hard. Watts should play Scorpions for most of the year until he learns to stop jogging and tiptoeing everywhere.
  13. Except for the audio problems all day during the Roos, Dogs clash. BTW, can't stand smug, arrogant Paul (Swannies this, Swannies that) Roos (biggest [censored] of all time)....poor old Ruciotto sounds like he's ready to cry and Brereton states the obvious. David King is annoying.
  14. Really? Cassisi gets his own pill and Cornes will be remembered for being the hard nut nagging stopper. And we have......?
  15. Yeah - the recruiting guy. Why don't we go after the Hawthorn chap?
  16. WYL, sorry to pick you up on this, but you felt sorry for Bailey when he got sacked??
  17. It's also the degree of intensity that leaves me shaking my head - they avoid contact. There, I've said it!
  18. Indeed, but a journey that must be had - the problem is the talk, the vitriol, the promises.......none of our latest draftees (with the possible exception of Howe) hit the packs with any conviction and resilience. That sh!ts me.
  19. BIG JIM, good morning and I hope your head is okay - If you want to trade a big name and count your losses, it's time to look at Watts.
  20. Or Patrick Dangerfield............
  21. Well....yes and no. They have plenty of players that only have a couple of years under their belt. How come the players they've unearthed are classy, tough and unrelenting FROM DAY ONE!!!!!!!????? Sorry caps lock, didn't mean to lose my cool
  22. That's true - thanks Scully, we got Clark who intimidated the Hawthorn backline - the only one, mind you.........
  23. Okay, good response but how long can this club and its supporters survive without lathering up? Another passive acceptance?? I agree with the long year ahead.
  24. A bad loss against a good side in a game that means very little Fairly dismissive - where was the passion to COMPETE....what did Malthouse call it???? To run with AMBITION. To show the footy world that we can't be pushovers anymore!!!!!! One bump all arvo/evening.....and Hodge still got up even though he was hurtin'
