  1. Picks, schmicks...soft as...hates to compete...will go back to basketball.
  2. You wrote reports?
  3. Too true - what we've lacked (that we had with Swooper Northey) was a great defensive game. Daniher was millionaire's row and Bailey...well, nuff said.
  4. I didn't mean to be flippant OD....I was just using a line from an old film - Poltergeist. Coincidentally, Kerry Packer cited the same experience. Hope your relative's okay.
  5. Stay away from the light, OD...
  6. Thanks sooo much for the reports everybody!! :) Beautiful reading - I know he didn't train today, but I'm so keen to see if Jeremy Howe takes the next step. I think Jonesy will win a Charlie.
  7. JW doesn't like the contest, doesn't like to compete. We got rid of one basketballer, time to seriously think about this one, too.
  8. This player will always polarise opinions. I don't believe (like so many other posters) that JW is a Neeld type of footballer. He was drafted from a dark period where skinny, 65 kilogram weaklings were the norm. In relation to body shape, some posters are being too simplistic and narrow in the understanding of my point. Body reshaping, getting stronger and developing a physique that copes with the rigours of top line footy is very, very, important. I was citing Chip as an example because he has worked on this requirement - there are others I could have used.
  9. Take it easy, Jonesbag...be more objective. Watts is in the firing line too, if you want to go down that path. Frawley arrived at the club having pretty much the same build as Watts, yet he has completely reshaped.
  10. Greater muscle definition and upper body strength that allows the players to compete without getting thrown off the ball like rag dolls. Many D'landers ridiculously overestimate JW as a player - a star? I don't think so.
  11. 100% correct. Gysberts was shown the door because he wasn't working hard enough to change his body shape. JW is in the same boat and will have to have an extraordinary year if he is to stay on the list.
  12. I reckon 2013 will be a make or break year for JW. Every player has a price.
  13. In relation to blocking? It's a prerequisite for any team to look after its midfielders. Nate Jones was completely butchered last year by close checking, negative footballers and none of our players helped him - check out the Freo game. To suggest that someone starts blocking for Davey is just plain ridiculous.
  14. I don't get it... jumbo 'oak' returns.....hmmmm. Help us out?
  15. Yep, just heard about that - hope he has a speedy recovery. Okay, I'll start a 'Why didn't we interview Dustin Martin' thread instead.
  16. Only joking binman...I'll let Jack play footy this year.
  17. I hope you're right or I'm going to start another Watts vs NicNat thread.
  18. I watched the game against the Tiges yesterday and can't wait to see a new team out there this year. In 2012 we looked so s-l-o-w. Gone from that line up is Bate, Rivers, Martin, Maloney and Bennell. When these players had the ball in their hands, it was excruciating to watch. I'm quite optimistic that there will be a quick turnaround.....even though old dee is waiting until April!
  19. Blocking for Flash? Gotta be kidding me.... The player that needed help last year (and could have won a Brownlow) was Nathan Jones. Unfortunately, Davey is finished.
  20. Unfortunately, a shadow of his former self....hasn't been any good for three years. Is looking over his shoulder with the recruitment of Byrnes and the development of Barry.
  21. Paul Roos? Seriously???He hates the club.
  22. Maybe they're investigating why we took Watts instead of NikNat... (Sorry, couldn't help myself)
  23. Settle... Scarlett's very easy on the eye.
  24. No, of course not...just adding some bs to this ridiculous topic that's citing CM a champion and WC as premiers.
  25. Worsfold was part of those successful premiership teams that blossomed overnight - similar to those Chinese swimmers.... Apparently he was a good man to have around if you wanted to build muscle or *sniff had a cold.
