Hang in there. You and I both know that this bloke is a culture/game changer.

If Mitch plays Round 1, Port are in for a hiding. He makes EVERY player walk 10 feet taller.

Well said - 5 year contracts are fraught with danger. Careful you're not too hard on JW, btw. -

NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE

It's really, really difficult to communicate with someone who has no idea how to have discussion without reverting to personal abuse. It's really, really difficult to communicate with someone who has no comprehension of the modern game. -
NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE

He needed to show this willingness in his first year. He doesn't have a competitive bone in his body. He will never show it. Time for me to move on. -
Sad day. Many are still bitter. Hope we're not next.

The simplistic commentary that asks for Neeld's replacement needs to be directed to more productive ideas. Having said that, the situation is almost dire - unfair as it may seem, early wins will allow some of the heavy atmosphere to be lifted, albeit temporarily. How did this situation get so bad? Recruiting?

No-one is exempt from the blow torch treatment. Every coach, every player, every administrator. Posters malign Demetriou, but at least he wants the competition to stay healthy with all the clubs. His anointed vice CEO is unctuous and has a hidden agenda - he's let a few comments on 'sustainability' slip through. This Club must lift, or extinction awaits.

NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE

Big year for this young man. I reckon he's a real beauty but he'll need to be coached properly, as he'll command mucho attention this year. The midfield is looking promising, but not ready....yet. Viney and Toumpas will become excellent footballers. Jordy and Jonesy remain very important. -

No, you're right, but he's a 22 starter. Most teams can hold a bottom six, St Kilda nearly won a granny with a bottom six or seven. In relation to top teams, we have a bottom 12. -

An honest account from someone who was there. Preseason wins mean so much for a team that's coming from such a low level. It will still take time to eradicate the soft underbelly of this team. Remember the 'bruise free' quote? Cited by an opposing player, someone at the coal face, someone who hears what goes on on the field. Too many unskilled players, too many passengers, too many poor recruits. Much pain to bear, if we survive. -

There will be improvement, but there's still 5 or 6 players who are deadwood from a previous regime. They will go at season's end. -
That's why they were given the sars.

Yep, but don't forget the wrestling or World of Sport as the prelude. -

Rounds 13 to 18 = Crunch Time for Neeld
jumbo returns replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
North are much more advanced than us, as are the Saints. Dogs could be the surprise package. Cats will murder us. Lions? Media awards...3 Moloney 2 Martin (called back after 6 weeks playing for Southport) 1 Brown. I want us to be competitive this year, show a combative spirit and some semblance of structure. I want to see our young kids develop, our middle tier take a giant step. I want to see Clark and Dawes work in unison to give us some direction. -
It's been pragmatic. The game has moved on, but this club has stagnated. Out - dated training methods, poor leadership/player development, low expectations, lack of discipline. Neeld is addressing all these issues and it'll take a couple of years. I know the jury's out on whether he can coach or not, but I'm reading things like 'press?' Press? Fmd, the previous coaching panel thought that 'press' was newspapers or something you do to your shirts.

Some names that have pulled the wool over most supporter's eyes will be gone. Some top 5 draft picks will go - not up to it.

Who are our best six in 2013, in 2015, in 2017?
jumbo returns replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really? So many posters are living out their hopeful fantasies about JW. Alas, wake up. -
Now you're talking - some of those GWS young guns look amazing (except for you know who.) Coniglio, Tyson, Greene.....I'd try for all of them.
