But have they buddy? I've said it a couple of times this season, hearing PJ and Mahns speak we are now a destination club. Agents call us and offer players to play at MFC, they don't laugh when Mahns calls them, they call us. We then choose the players we want as long as we are happy to pay the $ they are after.

Goody and footy dept would have been talking to PJ about players/club direction at points all season, of course he is all over it and you would think he have given his feedback on it prior to it happening, during and post outcome.

Don't agree at all. Are the 3 players who nominated ESS the players we want? Probably not so we wouldn't have spoken to their managers, they may want more money that we want to pay, we may have other options for the position they play... there will be multiple reasons why to say players don't want to come to us is not true when you look at Lever, and there will be more conversations going on.

Driving to a meeting and caught last bit of KB and Venom Denham. Denham stated Paul Connors (Watts manager) has said Watts won't be at Melb next year.

Goodwin, Jones and now Mahoney have all come out to discuss "Watts" lacking from Watts, 9 yrs/150 games etc etc. If you're riding Goody for lack of professionalism then throw the other 2 in, who have not been accused of that before. Maybe.. just maybe it sits with the player.. contract or not. This is not some random, off the cuff, emotional outburst. A clearly thought plan, from the club, to see "if this will get him to give 100%."

Yea the more I think about it the more agree with the above, we have to pay slightly overs to bring a player in. A player who will hopefully push us closer to a flag, you need to suck it up a little bit guys and focus on next season.

Just remember his brother is on the Dees list... it's valuable feedback from D. In saying that as a member I want Lever in our squad and hope the players to do even if at a slight premium on the new CBA.

Who's on heaps less D that thinks they have more value? Lever is being paid on form and potential to drive us to the next step, hopefully the playing group can give it time to see how it works out and not get their noses out of joint.

Disrespect he's been shown?! He's been in the system 9 years, 9 mainly chitty years but has obviously been told numerous times to pull his finger out by players and coaches. He's only delivered in spurts. He's been told he can explore his options, stiff cheddar that can happen to the best of us. He has a choice, to explore those options knowing full well he still needs to do more and take that knowledge where ever he goes or stay, but again he still needs to do more to satisfy players and coaches. The fans "feelings" don't mean chit, the guys who see him day and day out (players and coaches) have made a final statement to him, it sits with him to work through it with them. The club will not fall over without him, hopefully it will thrive with him but if he is gone so be it.
