  1. Come on, as if he was going to say anything different. Why is this such a surprise? Very happy he’s signed on though.
  2. A very big NO.
  3. Again, the speed at which Freo play is fun to watch. They are just clinical with the ball.
  4. I’ll ask a genuine question, did any of those coaches, apart from Longmire, get handed a solid list and a strong culture off the back of a succession plan? Goodwin was handed the reins to a club that was on the up thanks to Paul Roos and some solid recruiting. All of the above coaches (apart from Longmire) came into clubs that were heading south.
  5. Port are playing at a frenetic pace and have some beautiful kickers in their team. They will burn pass us next week like we’re standing still.
  6. Agree they’re hugely off tonight however they are still on top of the ladder with an unbelievable percentage (at the moment).
  7. They had checked out and didn’t show up but it’s alright because they’re all still mates 🙄
  8. Was at a lunch a fortnight ago and with Alastair Lynch and he talked about Akermanis and from what he said I wouldn’t want him anywhere near our club.
  9. Confirmed that May has fractured ribs. Best to put him on ice and play Petty down back for the remainder of the season.
  10. Thilthorpe is a beast. Causing real problems for the Cats.
  11. Once again, he may have the players ears and be a great mate to them however even blind Freddy could see that he hasn't inspired them in the past month when we needed to lift and his strategic ability is lacking. So is a coach, who you claim to be the best people manager in the league, someone who is mates with the players or someone who inspires and is strategically dynamic?
  12. He runs the lines well.
  13. I think you’ve made your point 🤣
  14. LDU and Sheezel putting on a clinic. God I hope we can recruit some elite midfielders in the coming draft / trade period.
  15. They’ve won one but been there more times than Goodwin has. Tell me why he’s better than any other coach at people management? What makes him in your eyes clearly better than anyone else?
  16. Goodwin might be a good people manager however there is more to coaching than simply being great with relationship management. I’d also love to know your measurement of “nobody does it better”, this is very debatable. John Longmire says “hi”. A coach needs to also articulate their vision and inspire players to walk the talk, something that is clearly lacking for sustained periods of time throughout the season. We are notorious for not turning up mentally to games this year. Coaches importantly need to define a strategy, make sure all parts are working towards delivering the strategy and making tweaks to ensure the result is achieved. This is where Goodwin falls flat. His inability to make changes quickly or admit a strategy might not be working is a worry. I think it’s fair to say Goody might be a good mate with the players but not a great game day coach. This could be supplemented potentially with some new assistants to cover the cracks. There will be some heat coming his way and rightly so.
  17. We simply need to get a new forward coach who actually played as a forward. It is an ongoing issue that needs to be fixed asap.
  18. Cats also have one of the best list managers in the business to keep their team at a high level. I am of the view however coaching changes need to be made.
  19. No preseason isn’t quite correct. He started training in late January. He has had an ordinary year for a multitude of reasons. I do think he can bounce back though.
  20. Petracca goes alright.
  21. This season was lost well before the loss of Gus. It was lost in the football department throughout the past 3 years.
  22. In some good news, my Collingwood and Hawks mates are also gutted.
  23. This is unfortunately looking like the coach has lost the team. The Dogs are in form but this is putrid.
  24. Pleased they’re switched on for the game tonight 🤦🏼‍♂️ The coach talks about the Melbourne style of game, tonight’s effort is quickly becoming our new brand unfortunately.
