  1. I'm getting more excited as each day goes by. I'm expecting: #36 - a small crumbing forward / tackling machine with a strong body and scintillating pace who can kick them from anywhere; #52 - a lanky, quick outside mid with exquisite skills on both sides, knows where the goals are and will be ready to go from round 1; and #54: Waylen Manson.
  2. Was just listening, and pondering how good it would be if our bloke became an all time classic like this one. No chance I guess, but the off season is time for dreaming. http://youtu.be/UPrixYOTNHw
  3. Mrs Dof had the banana and passionfruit portion but declined the whipped cream and crushed nuts. She has far more self-control than I do.
  4. Welcome to Demonland Scoop!
  5. Given that the T$ thread has resumed in a slightly different guise, I thought I should mention that I had my first banana split since the end of the footy season last night. Banana (obviously), fresh passionfruit, crushed nuts and lashings of whipped cream. Delicious, but not great for the waist-line I guess. When I told my lovely wife that it reminded me of Demonland, it confirmed in her mind that I've completely lost it. Some people just don't understand!
  6. That's all true Redleg, but I recall very similar sentiments about this year's Trade Week. That unexpectedly captured every Dees supporter's attention late in the piece.
  7. 10 and growing is a good number Nasher. I hope they are all Dees. I have three kids .... each of them and their partners are staunch Dees. Four grand-children - they don't have a choice.
  8. Thanks molly. Beanie and bib at this stage.
  9. You have your work cut out there old dee. But as you know, where there's life there's hope .......... you and I are proof of that old mate.
  10. Family and the MFC are tops with me old dee. Number four grand daughter is only 8 days old ..... time to sign her up I reckon.
  11. Everyone on equal footing. Names mean nothing. Every place in the team must be earned from here on in. Exactly what we need and I love it.
  12. Silly old fool and and silly young tool in that order. I'm very content in the knowledge that neither of them are at my Club.
  13. Just got back from a week in the bush, out of mobile range and definately no computer access (didn't even know who won the Cup until this morning). I can't believe how I missed Demonland and how much reading I have to do to catch up on all things 'Melbourne' and all things T$ No B$. Congrats on passing the 1000 mark Redleg.
  14. Based on his very limited exposure at the top level, Tom appears to be a bright prospect. He seems to have well rounded footy skills (strong for his age, quickish for his size and a solid mark and kick) but the impressive thing for me was the poise and good decision making he showed for a player of his short experience. He certainly didn't look out of place at the top level, or overawed by the occasion of his first couple of games, and this augurs well for the future.
  15. Absolutely! I took that as a given jcb.
  16. We expect nothing less than what the Low Rent Pub Crew were able to achieve with Clark. I presume you are staying at the same digs.
  17. As appropriate: if the offenders are currently part of the Leadership Group, immediately dismiss them, but reinstate them shortly afterwards if they regret their mistake; or if they are not currently part of the Leadership Group, rebuke them for bringing Demonland/Demonology into disrepute, and fine them a token amount. Handle the discussions carefully though, because you run the risk of the said players making representations to the Board, in which case your tenure as coach could be in jeopardy.
  18. Hope it was a Dees one
  19. Great lyrics, so well suited to Johnny Cash's gravelly voice.
  20. Yeah, just listened to a few of those on YouTube and the nostalgia came flooding back. If we continue this 'off-season trip down memory lane' it won't be long before we pass the 1000 mark ...... without one iota of angst.
  21. Wow, that brings back some memories. I remember a 1967 concert at Festival Hall featuring the Yardbirds (For Your Love), the Big O (Crying ... 3 curtain calls) and the Walker Brothers (The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore) all on the same card. Sensational!
  22. The key to this particular thread is what it's not about!. Normally I'd suggest that reading the title would be helpful, but that's been changed umpteen times.
  23. The mid to late 60s was a great era for Australian groups. Bobby & Laurie, The Twilights, Ray Brown & the Whispers, MPD Ltd., Billy Thorp & the Aztecs, the Eazybeats ....... loved 'em all. You were nobody if you didn't go to a disco on Saturday night. No night footy back then, of course.
  24. Of course we can OD! Just keep repeating: ....... of course we can! ...... of course we can! Just like the Little Red Engine that finally got to the top of the hill.
  25. Ahh ... we have more in common than just our advancing years, a drop or two of good red and our unconditional love for the Dees. I was dating two lovelies in '64 (hello Maureen and Jane). Sadly, they disappeared from the radar in '65 much like the Dees. It was a sh!t of a year in many ways, but I'm thankful that mini-skirts arrived a couple of years later, the good music continued for another decade, and the Dees are once again on the march. Ahhh!
