Sam Grlj
This makes me wonder if they would be open to splitting 3. They've got big bodied Smillie and Lalor to go with Taranto and Hopper. They get their outside mid in Grlj to go with Hotton. Would it make sense for them to grab some more pieces around the park in their rebuild like a Lindsay at HBF etc

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Interestingly it's being reported WCE are considering bidding on Dean at 2, which would cause the Blues to Burn pick 9 and send pick 11 to the second round. I wonder if that will have any impact on our strategy. Good on them to make everyone use up their points but probably indicates trading up to pick 2 isn't likely.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
*Sorry my mistake same thread. Might be out of reach regardless. Seems to be having a similar trajectory to Lalor. Cal's October rankings are imminent and had Lalor behind Harvey this time last yr. Power mid/forwards are in demand according to recent Dusty, Trac and Danger performances. afl.com.auCal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' Oct...AFL.com.au's draft guru Cal Twomey delivers his fourth Phantom Form Guide ahead of the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Quoting myself in another thread. 'I don't think our list is as bad as others think it is though. Watching from behind the goals at the Collingwood game in the last round the shape and aggression to bring the ball back in board and the over lap run from behind was so much more on trend. And TC only had a few weeks. Goody's head and heart were stuck in 2021 and it showed in selection and strategy. If JT likes someone I don't mind the idea of betting on ourselves and using our F1st' Only thing that gets it done imo to get pick 2. Everyone will think we're dc's but get Robey plug and play HFF. Imagine the wing, mid, HFF, deep forward rotations Culley, Langford and Robey. Adopt a winners mentality. Don't look forward to Scully and co

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I like Lindsay and think he'd be a good understudy and replacement to Salem. Shame his highlights are all half volleys outside off and don't show a lot of defense. If Kings game plan is anything like Geelong's I see a place for a mosquito fleet and Dovaston. He looked good in the Box Hill game. If this draft is anything like the 2020 one though which I looked at after Phillips delisting today I worry. I don't think our list is as bad as others think it is though. Watching from behind the goals at the Collingwood game in the last round the shape and aggression to bring the ball back in board and the over lap run from behind was so much more on trend. And TC only had a few weeks. Goody's head and heart were stuck in 2021 and it showed in selection and strategy. If JT likes someone I don't mind the idea of betting on ourselves and using our F1st. Get someone who will play a full season and help us win some games, then couple picks who will spend periods at Casey. *Granted I just said Phillips went at three in 2020 😅

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
7, 8, Suns F1st ~15, 37 for WCE 2, 13 & 34 would be about as good as it gets to be placed get Robey, Dovaston and Pickett. Draft calculator has that as a surplus of about pick 36 to WCE. Puts them in the range of SA/WA talent as well. Going off Wellingham's suggestion could possibly happen. They would need to have cooled considerably on CDT though

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I like the thinking and would wager JT will be aggressive in getting up the board and creative with a F1st. I think they'll reserve at least one of next years 1st if we're any chance of landing Humphrey. I think DL'drs would be happy with a combination 1 of 2 of the former and 1 of 2 of the latter. Agree. There will also be considerable pull for free agents though if we can get Caulfield up and if we've got an exciting young talented list. Get out of '27 then '28 onwards bring in established talent akin to Lever/May will be the strategy I reckon.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Yeah my last post was based off snippets along the way like this, past history and the fact we've lost our power mid/forward re Robey. I agree with others it'd be nice to keep two first rounders in this draft though to get in talent now. I've come round to Grjl from others reports but he may be firming to be off the table. AFL Phantom Draft 2025: Top 10 prospects, first round pro...Now that the AFL trade period is over, it's time for focus on November's AFL National Draft. Can guarantee Taylor will drafterpay '27 first rounder into '26 with Tassie coming in based around f/s and academy picks. So the messaging around 4 x 2 first rounders in a row may still align. Maybe Suns f1st comes into play to get up the board. Otherwise that leaves us in Lindsay territory (who fills a list need for us) and a number of interstate players around that mark. In particular tall forwards who I doubt we'll be into with our list of developing talls. Split or get up the board imo if it's to play out like the link

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Taylor will want Robey. It's the 'ok to trade the Trac picks to get the pick for the replacement Trac for the next decade'. As others have said Robeys the Trac with the Oliver backstory. We've got a 2016 list. Unless King throws in an unexpected as he's done a bit recently they'll want to build around a similar 1-2 combo (Oliver/Langford). Duursma and CDT (absolute ripper, who I've coached) on wce agenda by the sounds. 7&8 for 2&12 is nice won't happen. Only chance is 7&8 for 3 and future 2nd with Richmond. Only reason they'd be for for it cause they have Lalor as their Robey.
