  1. Siren goes and it's a gutsy 16 point win to Casey 2014 Peter Jackson VFL Casey Scorpions 3.2.20 8.5.53 9.9.63 10.11.71 Northern Bullants 2.1.13 4.3.27 8.7.55 8.7.55 Goals Casey Scorpions Smith 5 Tapscott 2 Hunt Mitchie Rosier Northern Bullants Bransgrove Wilson 2 Byrne Cattapan Temay Wood Best Casey Scorpions Blease Smith McKenzie Michie Riley Barry Northern Bullants Cachia Graham McInnes Bransgrove Anthony Tardio Possessions McKenzie 32 Blease 30 Riley 27 Michie 23 Nicholson 23 Evans 21 Tapscott 20 Toumpas 20 Rosier 15
  2. GOAL !!!!!! Jayden Hunt kicks the goal at the back of the pack and it's Casey 10.11.71 to Blues 8.7.55.
  3. Couple of shots from Casey go out of bounds on the full. The weather's cleared but the game is dull as a dog's insides. One point scored in about 23 minutes.
  4. Michie and McKenzie - about halfway through the quarter, the Scorps have the only score (a point) but the Blues have had most of the play.
  5. Tapscott in a collision - friendly fire.
  6. Siren goes for three quarter time as Strauss goes down with an ankle. Doesn't look good and the Scorps are likely to go into the final term with only one or two fit players on the bench. Wood dominating the ruck for the Blues. Three Quarter time: Casey Scorpions 9.9.63 to Northern Blues 8.7.55 Goals: Smith 5 Tapscott 2 Michie Rosier
  7. Another Blease shocker gifts a goal to the Blues - back to 6 points the difference well into time on.
  8. Tapscott kicks his second to put Casey back to 2 goals in front but they are struggling with no ruckmen as Thomas has been in the hands of the trainers.
  9. Shocker of a free kick to the Blues and it's now 8 points the difference. Shades of last week.
  10. Blues dominating and have scored another to reduce the margin to 13 points.
  11. Blues goal in the first minute of the second half without Casey touching it. I hope this isn't a repeat of last week.
  12. Tappy kicks one from the pocket and they lead by 26 points and it's half time. Casey Scorpions 8.5.53 to Northern Blues 4.3.27 Goals Smith 5 Michie Rosier Tapscott
  13. Tim Smith kicks his fifth to restore a 20 point lead for the Scorpions 7.5.47 to 4.3.27. Jack Fitzpatrick hasn't come back onto the ground since quarter time. Casey have a first gamer in the ruck and he's being assisted by Troy Davis who's about 6'3".
  14. Blues goal after a bad mistake from Blease.
  15. A shocker of a free kick against Casey is followed by a 50m penalty for dissent and a charity to the Blues in the goalsquare brings the margin down to 19 points. There have been some rubbish decisions against Casey in the past few weeks but that was a ripper.
  16. Viv Michie who has been in good form and goals - the Scorps 6th and they lead by 25 points at the 20 minute mark.
  17. Tim Smith is marking everything in these conditions and goals for his fourth and Casey goes to a handy lead of 19 points.
  18. Sam Blease gets a long goal for Casey who are on top after the Blues dominated the first half of the quarter.
  19. Casey goals through Rosier after a turnover. Casey by 11 points.
  20. Riley's out there but it looks like there's been a few changes in the selected side. Toumpas is back on the ground. The game continues to be a scrappy one with the Blues doing most of the attacking. Casey lead by 5 points.
  21. Jimmy Toumpas injured in a marking contest and is off the ground but looks OK.
  22. Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions. 3.2.20 to Northern Blues 2.1.13 as the rain comes pouring down. Jack Fitzpatrick injured just before the quarter time siren and looks in a bit of strife.
  23. Smith marks and kicks his second and then gets a handpass from Blease for his third - Casey leads 3.2.20 to 1.0.6. Jordie McKenzie is busy at this point of proceedings.
  24. One goal each in a scrappy game played in greasy conditions. The Casey goalkicker is Tim Smith.
  25. Dandenong would be closer and more convenient to most and the old Dandenong VFA wore the same colours but the problem is the facility. The old Shepley Oval wasn't in great nick when I was last there and parking would be a major problem. Given what we're hearing about federal and state budgets I can't see the better part of $100m becoming available for that sort of development any time soon.
