POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
While waiting at the airport to board the plane, and having just re-watched most the match again, considering the humid like weather (22 degrees) I would just take this win and move on. Skills were off, but was partly by the product of the condition imo, and effort was there. 5 day break in addition, but this was a match we should win and did win. Should beat West Coast too, but the true indicator for where weāre at will be against the Hawks and Brisbane in back to back weeks thereafter. Preserving Gawn and May in tough conditions was the common sense thing to do. Richmond and West Coast prove there are no easy matches. West Coast, with luck could have beaten Brisbane. Just bank this and move on. We beat Richmond because we are a good side, not because Richmond are necessarily [censored].

NON-MFC: Round 06
I swear, everytime a combination of Geelong, Hawthorn, Carlton or Collingwood meet, it always feels like an incestual meet up. Donāt get me started on that loser, a full grown man who always dresses up like a cat, full make up and everything. š¤”š¤£

Tom Fullarton
Well said, mate. Listening to Gawn post match on 3AW, it sounded a lot like he was happy with Fullartonās debut and appreciated the assistance he got in the ruck. Nobody rated that dumb American and said dumb American nearly got the Pies into a GF off his own boot. Not saying Fullarton will become a world beater, but if he gets a decent go at it and can become half as good as someone like Darcy Cameron, who I think gets underrated year in, year out, then we would be pretty happy Iād reckon. If he does come into his own and becomes a solid contributor, it could release a lot of pressure on JVR.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Actually insane to me how some neutrals would discount Gawn as the GOAT ruckman due to his goalkicking. There are plenty of GOAT caliber athletes who have the equivalent deficiency and Djokovic is a prime example. Even throughout his prime years as good as he is/was at hitting and winning low percentage points, his overhead shots and net game remains a glaring weakness compared to his fellow direct competitors in Nadal and Federer. The amount of errors he has produced on the overhead especially is still quite surprising. Make no mistake, similarly, Gawn after this performance when the team needed it the most makes him greater than Dean Cox. 18 contested possessions and still gut running into positions to impact play with his marking ability is just insane.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Nah, as Craig McCrae has said many times that he values players than picks because winning is the potion that drives success. We need to win games and winning attracts top talent.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
The most fun and enjoyable match I have watched us play in at least 1 and a half years I reckon. The forward wave running whilst implementing great team defensive pressure is what we have grown accustomed to. Next 2 highly winnable and Hawks proven not to be as invincible as most like to believe. If we are real with ourselves, we beat Richmond and West Coast easily and suddenly 3 in a row going into Hawthorn⦠Letās hope to god this is first of many wins and the new standard going forward..

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Honestly, the club has sapped the energy out of me, so the only thing I have going for me right now is that I leave for Europe after the Easter weekend for the tennis clay court season. Will still go out of my way to watch us, but I canāt believe it is round 6 and itās already season over. Still yet to fully sink in. We were top 4 last year when they smashed us by 90 odd and even when we were good, we still struggled against them. It is arguable that the loss in the Alice started this free fall. God help us..

The Luke Beveridge Thread
[censored]⦠I thought this was a joke/meme I saw on X/Twitter⦠As previous comments alluded to, Beveridge is literally Goodwin 2.0. Plays favorites, stubborn in the sense of selections, forced heavy changes to the list post flag, game style/gameplan not very noticeable and in terms of philosophy, very similar in regards to how they coach teams. Iād much rather we search for the next McCrae or Kingsley. Jaymie Graham is highly rated during his 3-4 years at West Coast including a flag as forward coach and with further 2 experience at Freo, he may be worth the risk to try and regenerate the list as I still think we are good enough if properly managed. Whatās there to lose with a new president incoming in addition?

Letter from Brad Green
He did out of necessity, not because he wanted to. Typical PR pre crisis spin.

Letter from Brad Green
This club, I swear⦠whatās the obsession with the third quarter or THAT one quarter out of the 4 that āshowsā our true capabilities? The game is played across 4 quarters, not 1. Our list profile should be more competitive than this even though we may not be top 4 quality anymore due to a myriad of reasons. Absolute joke.Would anyone be shocked if there is was a 15k crowd on Saturday and outnumbered by Freo fans?

NON-MFC: Round 05
Lmao, say we lose the next 3⦠after West Coast, Hawks, Brisbane, Sydney and St Kilda follow⦠I know we are bound to win a match sooner rather than later because no team has ever gone winless in the AFL era, but watching teams like Richmond and to an extent St Kilda go past us at a serious rate just makes you laugh. St Kilda of all sides that canāt lure talent out of nowhere are looking like a top 8 side. They never beat Port, but the fashion in which they broke the duck was impressive.

My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
Agree with the Windsor sentiments. Goodwin is trying turn him into Jayden Hunt which is laughable. The way we are set up with no clear exit does him no favors. Hope to god we end up with Longmire before Windsor gets destroyed. A lot of similarities with Gulden in the sense he was drafted as a an agile wingman with great agility with little experience as an inside on ball player. Longmire turned an already elite outside player who can hit the 45 degree kicks with ease into a crucial piece of the Swans on ball brigade. If Windsor can become half as good, Iāll be happy.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Gawn has to take some responsibility for the hole and mess we are in. To essentially say (paraphrasing) that it is āfun and exciting to be out of formā after that Gold Coast smashing was both weird and cultish. Goodwinās robotic pressers are already as bad as it is, but then hearing the captain, one of the most colorful personalities in the game come out and continue to tow the company line by saying it is great to be out of form is just straight up garbage.

Time to go Goody?
Most fans hadnāt trust his decision making for a good part of 2 years now. Most even foresaw this long before that too, so in essence, hindsight is irrelevant such is/was the glaring issues facing the clubs. Going back to that Freo smashing half way through last season as an example, the drivel that came from his mouth was just that- mumble jumbo nonsense. "We understand there's elements within our method that aren't right. "But inconsistencies, not only from week-to-week, are concerning, and we'll look into it the why of it, because that performance is clearly, completely unacceptable from where we want to be as a team. I know our supporters want more." āOne we certainly won't tolerate. There's inconsistencies in our game, and that trend's been there for a little while now," This was halfway through 2024. How and why the main cores issues are still haunting the club is just laughable now, rather than pure frustration and anger. Heās been off the rails for sometime now and it is now starting to come to a violent halt last night.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Round 3, 2017 v Geelong: "It was frustrating. Clearly you've got to kick goals to win games of footy and we didn't do that today," Round 5, 2018 v richmond "We didn't connect well forward of centre. It's been a little bit of a tale of some of our games this year where we've struggled to connect and have efficiency inside forward 50.ā Round 21, 2018 v Sydney "We didn't connect well forward of centre. It's been a little bit of a tale of some of our games this year where we've struggled to connect and have efficiency inside forward 50.ā Round 6, 2019 v Richmond "We had our opportunities through the middle of the ground, but we couldn't connect with our handball and our kicking," Round 15 and 16, 2020 against lowly Sydney and Freo were the same. Inefficiency cost us finals. Now 2022-25 the same old BS repeated! Even after a flag, this club finds new ways of disappointing fans. Goodwin has a pattern and a one off 2021 (which I am grateful for) does not mean he gets a pass. Inefficiency, moving the ball and goal kicking has been an issue ever since Goodwin took over. 2021 was a lot better, but is now an anomaly. So, no, you are wrong. Fans/members have EVERY right to tee off at the basket case this club is becoming yet again. I only pay $750 for my membership, so canāt imagine those who pay the $1000+ yearly.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Sparrow also needs a lashing more than the likes of Fritsch imo. Fritsch at least still presents even though his intensity and second efforts should be better in the contest. When was Sparrowās last competent match? 5 possessions, 2 tackles for someone who is usually in the team for pressure is [censored] poor.

How embarrassing. We are legitimately in a wooden spoon race with West Coast. š

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
This chick is hot and eye candy, ngl, but useless as an umpire. I dread every time we get her for our matches. Her and Nicholls kills us all the time.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
May and Lever used to be shoe ins for marks like that and you would stake your life on them marking, but you canāt trust them 100% these days.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Legitimately thought things couldnāt get any worse and we have around a 65-70% chance to get a win tonight such is the defensive vulnerabilities of *, but we genuinely might not get a win until West Coast in 3 weeks time. To look so unthreatening against * is just absolutely shocking.

Garry Lyon talking like * absorbing 27 inside 50ās against Melbourne is some sort of life long achievement š¤£š¤”š¤£š

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Our list profile on paper may very well be āpast itā in terms of premiership contention, but we should NOT be uncompetitive to this extent.. We should be a 7-10 side. Failure on all fronts not just the coaching and football department setup.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
There has to come a point in time when Goodwin canāt cop all the heat when we need to acknowledge we have some really dumb, low IQ footballers. What a joke.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
What dross so far. Making * look like prime 01-03 Brisbane and Jones looking like Wayne Carey.
