They are just 💩 Dogs ravaged by injury this year, Brisbane not as much but managing well, GWS are thereabouts and even Collingwood last season were only percentage away from the 8 in spite of being gutted with personnel and injury issues. There is a reason why their inbred fans have waited 30+ years for another flag. Carlton deserve nothing better.

Spot on. The brain is a wonder, but it can also work in mysterious ways. Last night, I randomly dreamt about that round 9, 2021 match vs Carlton and woke up even more angry at that 1.7 final quarter than the result yesterday. Out of all matches to suddenly remember, it had to be that one. Old habits always alive in spite of success and in a span of less than 5 years, we have experienced the highs and have been quickly bought back to our usual level and mediocrity of 2015. We were never alive this season in hindsight, we were kidding ourselves.

We have gotta be the dumbest team in the league with the worst habits we cannot ever shake. Inaccuracy asides, how do we consistently allow opposition sides to get a massive jump on us? This year, it was St Kilda, Gold Coast, Geelong and Essendon. Last year it was Carlton in that humiliating scoreless first qtr, Brisbane at the G, Dogs at Marvel (something like 4.7 to 1.1 in the first), Fremantle at the Alice and even though it was a dead rubber in the last round, the Pies kicked 5 or 6 in the first. There is something seriously wrong when the season is on the line and you come out and put in a performance like that.

With this club, it is either losing after conceding a massive deficit in the first quarter then putting in a valiant effort in the final 3 qtrs in a 3-4 goal loss or inaccuracy. There are no other methods of losing. The Carlton game last season still pisses me off going scoreless and losing by less than a kick in the end. St Kilda average like 70 pts a game in 2025 and we allowed them to kick 6 in the first quarter. It is a continuous pattern since the flag. Season on the line and we dish out that first quarter tripe. What a complete and utter joke!

I actually see a lot of Kai Lohmann in him. In an actual good side like Collingwood, he would be dangerous. Not the quickest, but is fleet footed, can tackle and can take contested grabs. Just does not suit our overly congested system. The kid has no room to breathe. Harsh to expect a lot from him.

Really getting tired of the same script every week. If it isn’t inaccuracy, it is slow starts that eventually kills us. Slow starts against St Kilda, Essendon, Geelong cost us the eventual match after trying extra hard to get back into the contest. Looking like another slow start will cost us again today. Such a frustrating “nearly” season. Could have been top 4 best case scenario.

Why are there people on here whingeing about free kicks? We can have +10 frees and still be [censored]. It’s not like being plus up in free kicks will make us threatening going forward. 😂🤣

Umpires, media… really, who cares when this club consistently shoots itself in the foot. We can’t be crying about not getting respect when MFC is more prone than any other club to be the laughing stock of the AFL. You reap what you sow. The amount of times I have seen “wasteful Dees” as part of news headlines.. I’m just numb to it all.. Media doesn’t trigger me these days, Melbourne FC does. Almost 10 years and nothing has changed.

Inefficiency, moving the ball inside 50 and goal kicking has been an issue ever since Goodwin took over. 2021 was better, but we were still 10th overall for inside 50 to goal conversion. Simply unsustainable. So much energy finding the ball only to squander chance after chance, it is little wonder why we have experienced severe mental and physical burnout. Idiotic coaching and man management from the entire football department in general. I envy the likes of Collingwood and Geelong, I really do.. they just find answers to problems and often than not solve them in quick time.

Season is done. Windsor was recruited as a wingman who has high capabilities of playing as a half forward, similar to Gulden in his draft year. Just play him on the wing full time instead of the half hearted half back [censored]. Gulden was never even touted as an on baller, but eventually developed into one of the better ones in the league. About time we try to find out what other dimensions are in the younger guys for the rest of the season It probably won’t happen because as long as we are mathematically still in the hunt, Goodwin won’t change a thing, but I would love to see Pickett, Langford, Rivers in the starting opening bounce with Windsor and Lindsay on either wing. It is about time we release the shackles, do something different and let the kids play and release some pressure.

Just hope we don’t concede the season. If we go down bring others down with us. Would love to dash Carlton’s season and the Dogs. Hawks and Pies, but if we can prevent top 4 spots, I’d be happy.

Salem has regressed year on year and he is supposed to be one of the elite kicks in the comp. I’m afraid under this style of system, not even Harry Sheezle or a Callaghan would thrive. Even looking at Lindsay, he kicks it well, but often flat footed. Really wish Goodwin would just let him play as a handball receiver and run free to make better use of his skills.

Absolute garbage. Our best and worst is literally top 4 or bottom 4. Within a kick of GWS and Collingwood, only to also get smashed by Norf whilst also losing to this diabolical Port and St Kilda sides. This high bombing BS with no forward craft or desire to work inside the 50 is something that’s been happening over the last 4 years without change. I remember Collingwood from 2020-21 lauded as the kings of “crab football” which automatically incited change by McCrae. They haven’t looked back since. Goodwin has had 4 years to fix this nonsense and has done NOTHING to fix it and it has cost us an entire season AGAIN!

It’s the method in which we lose. We clearly tried to be more attacking, but ultimately, inaccuracy on top of sloppy disposal is Groundhog Day. We are a different team style wise, but it really is the same [censored] all in all the last 3 seasons.

Channel 7 surprisingly fair imo. Kane Cornes can be heavily biased, but reckon he’s been pretty fair just tells it like it is.
