POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
Changing game plans takes longer than we thought. I wasn’t expecting a win and it made it more enjoyable to watch. Crows are contenders, seriously fit and we got pretty close. A couple of trades at season end and we are even better. I think Tracc and Oliver (if they’re with us next year) will be much better after another preseason. I’d hate to see that happen at another club. I think Tracc forward is the future. He seemed to really care about his shots today. Pity he didn’t get them. I feel like Max is a little off… And it reflects in his ruck craft. I’m doing my best to enjoy every game. Can’t enjoy the highs without the lows. My old man was a Collingwood supporter. Footy would have been so much easier if I’d have gone with him, but my Uncle took me to the footy as a kid to watch the Dees. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
Lots to be excited for. Be great to finish the year with momentum, take a few scalps and have the media on the Demon bandwagon heading in to 2026. Clarry and JV to quiet the naysayers, Tracc to kick 4 and Kossie the mark of the decade. Go Dees.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I really like the idea of Trac spending the bulk of his time forward. Saturday was proof that JV needs to be inside mid and as most say Clarry can only play mid. Gives the option of rotating a few other players through the midfield, sending Petty back and helps out the development of JVR/Jeffo. Trac can be a shock troop through the midfield on occasion ALA Dangerfield.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
I was there yesterday. First quarter was as bad as I’ve seen in my 48 years. Once again I agree with everything said about umpiring. Suns are definitely a Nepo Baby team though, they play great footy, pushing for finals and only 13000 there to watch…

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Great post. And just think if we’d kicked straight we had a chance. We’re still in this.

Sounds like we agree with each other. Except your last bit.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Not giving an out… Just a reason. I believe I said we should have won. I’m just one to look at the big picture and not feed off my emotions. I’m not one to kick the team, especially when they’re down. It’s not like they don’t want to win or aren’t trying.

C’mon team. I’m not one for buying every nugget Binman says… But all our stars seemed flat. Yeah we should’ve won but it looked like they were running around in lead boots. Even Vines somehow got match day loading in Alice. Heavy training? As I said we should’ve won but it’s a hell of a lot harder when you’re buggered. And AFL has such small margins. Chris Scott said a couple of years ago that they load… And will load even if they get it wrong. We still have time to get in the eight. Kings birthday will be a fun ride.

Giants only just beat Richmond Pies smashed Hawks Brisbane had a scare Suns got beat by Freo Weird results around the bye. It’s a long season and we’re only half way through. Last week Clarry was very quick to praise Goody and Selwyn. Im keeping the faith.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Clarry unbelievable… But I think he could get better. Tracc… So focussed. Ready to take the reins from Max when the time is right. Kossie… Cleared to do whatever he wants from Goody and I love it.

Great win. Unexpected. Was there and kudos to the cheer squad… Last quarter noise was epic.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
When did Jeffo come off? Late in the 3rd? I reckon Jeffo helped our structure a little. FWIW, I moved to Brissy in 2017 and watched Hipwood play week after week… He went from an amusement to a grand final player and could have another medal around his neck by years end. He’s no superstar but plays a role. Persistence has helped him.

I don’t think it’s fair to bag JVR and Jeffo when you’ve got Gunston and Breust at the other end as comparison… And they didn’t star. Young fellas just need time. Enjoy the ride… And enjoy those moments from Max and Kossie.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Cracking game for 3 and a half quarters. Apart from the goal kicking I’m proud of that effort… It’s coming together… Never expected to beat the hawks… We are warming in to the new gameplay nicely. Langford is an absolute gun.

That’s pretty unfair to Heathens 😉

Great win by the Dees. How about we focus on what brings us together and not what drives us apart… I.E Lets keep the politics out of the thread.

Time to go easy on Fritsch
I understand what you’re saying Binners. To me your argument boils down to the fact that he’s being asked to play a different position… As your second point above indicates that we’ve been a high pressure team since 2021 of which Fritta was a part, just playing a different role. I’m prepared to give him time to learn his new job, knowing that he can kick goals. Reference his omission and subsequent call up… It’s Goody’s game plan. If Goody thinks that Fritsch is suitable to slot in the side then I’ll back that.

Time to go easy on Fritsch
I dunno fellas. There have always been players that apply manic pressure and those that are more outside players. I’d much prefer the ball in Fritta’s hands kicking for goal than pretty much anyone on the team. For example, Tracc is not a reliable snap for goal… Even after all the pressure he applies. Ultimately we may have to accept that Fritta is not a high pressure player and his role - as defined by the coaches - is kicking goals… Could explain why he burned Spargs in the last. Who knows… But you have to kick a score to win… And without him I’m not sure there’s enough goal kickers on the list.

Time to go easy on Fritsch
The 3rd quarter goal in the GF he kicked from the centre clearance, crumbing off the back of the pack to get us back in the game is one of my favourite Dees moments ever. Gives me shivers watching it. A bit of humility and empathy goes a long way.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Great win. 3rd quarter epic. Boys took their foot off the pedal in the last. It was obvious. Junk time goals for Richmond. Teams have done it to us in the past and we’ve called it out. Shouldn’t be any different when we’re in the lead. Go Dees.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
I’m 48. I was there in 1988 and 2000… And the Neeld era. But I’ve never been so depressed as an MFC supporter… Maybe my age is showing. I’ve been on the fence but I think I’m on the “move Goody on” train. Too much talent out on the park to be playing this badly. FWIW… I think the lads had a good crack.

TRAINING: Wednesday 2nd April 2025
I reckon Clarry matched him for pace. Just couldn’t catch him. Rowell got a head start which gave him a meter. Also ran too far.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Gold Coast
Is it possible that we’ve lost focus in the midfield by rotating too many players through? I know we need more than just Trac, Clarry and Vines but the more time others get in there the less our bulls keep their currency. Also noticed a lack of outside mid co-ordination… Suns were good at holding space outside stoppage… Not so much us.
