I would hope that they tried Bill in his proper position at some stage in the next three games. There’s a few players on the list that need to be played.

I liked mihocek casually going over the Mark by impey by 2–3 m. Almost daring the umpire to call the 50 meter penalty.

Chaplin is a far better coach than he was a player

I would have Roos and PJ as consultants. I’d expect a combination of Buckley/Longmire, and Bruce/Enright. I would hope it wouldn’t be a long drawn out process. I wouldn’t be against a handover process with the above coaches.

I didn’t feel like it was unexpected. It was a death by 1000 cuts. 0–5, losses to North Melbourne and Essendon. Gold Coast. Alice Springs. Carlton. 46 points. The occasional responses seemed to be emotionally led. Wasn’t convinced by his communication or personnel to change game style on the fly. The board obviously didn’t agree with SG on the solutions – there was a disconnect. Still believe SG to be a good coach. He will probably be a better coach with his next club. I expect one or two experienced operators to be entrusted with the recovery. Hopefully, this will take 2–3 years or less.

Haven’t read much of this yet, but I’m expecting everyone who was asking for him to be sacked to now be unhappy with the process and timing.

Yeah, it looked to me like he was trying to hide behind 3 players in a row between them – as well as a random distracting runner heading towards the boundary. Not sure why they were allowed on the field at that time? Clever by Hill, and very annoying. Actually seems to happen quite a lot against the filth. Probably because they put a lot of numbers towards the “get out” kick down the line.

This umpire with the goatee has got [censored] for brains! NFI He doesn’t know when a tackle is high. He doesn’t know when you are allowed to go for a mark and use your body to block. Half of these guys (umpires) should be retired.

Nash’s tackle on Soligo was pretty good. The umpire should have tapped Soligo on the shoulder and pointed to the screen.

Heath? Verrall was on the field for half the time, and got more taps/hits to advantage – mainly against Heath. Maybe we should go and get Harry Boyd as well? Where is his fan base from last year?

The main problem to come from this is that we could be 10 goals up in the last quarter of a final, and the opposition would still think they are a chance and will not lie down under any scoreboard pressure whatsoever.

I haven’t seen an umpire call players back into the Centre after a 6–6–6 rule free kick before. The only rule I can see is that a 50 meter penalty can apply the 6–6–6 is adjudged to be deliberate. Either way, I can’t believe that they obviously haven’t looked at the 6–6–6 scenario. Marking players and tall defenders go deep in defence. Wings, Mids and half backs go towards half back. Tag dangerous midfielders. Pretty sure we never had a rule to not turn your back on play – thought that that was pretty self evident. Bowser was actually the only one in the right place, until he turned around and jogged back to the others.

Nah. Have a look at his last goal when he was running to the right fwd pocket. He had 3-4 players inside that he could’ve handballed to. Once they realised it was him, and he had no intention of sharing the ball, they all stopped. All okay if he kicks them from the boundary, over his shoulder all the time – but not exactly the percentage play. I think this has also become a problem in the A’s.

You can do that if you don’t give handballs when they are there
