2026 Possible Targets/Player Movement
He has been having a pretty good season up forward so far. I can see Carlton offering him 1 more year. If they don't, I agree he would be a good pickup for a year or two.

NON-MFC: Round 7
It might be past their bed time in Perth, not exactly a late night city 😊

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
At the MCG tonight. Dees doing just enough to win this. Coming off a 5 day break beating Brisbane, as long as it is a win and not a cliff-hanger that is all that matters. Dees to win by 30 odd points at the final siren.

Dees & Blues in Talks for Marquee Mental Health Game
Yes indeed, he played 50 games for Carlton as player/coach between 1965 and 1969.

Thanks for that! Interesting, never knew that there was a R D Barassi trophy awarded between 1965 and 1972.

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Have been 'flagged' but not certain exactly when and the precise details. Kind of important when planning for a draft. May not matter in a practical sense this year because Carlton and Port are doing so badly this season this far that a low ladder finish is actially quite desirable. Still all very amateurish from the AFL.

Interesting. Will have to google around.

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
^^ I don't think the changes are really the issue, it is the lead time to implementing them. We don't have clarity on what is happening for the draft later this year and it already almost May. That is absurd and amateurish from the AFL.

Don't watch the Krabby the Clown episode on Sponge Bob Squarepants. It will be a double hit!

Dees & Blues in Talks for Marquee Mental Health Game
@Pates agreed, tricky territory given St Kilda already have "Spuds Day". Actually last season "Spuds Day" had St Kilda hosting Carlton st the MCG. @Rab D Nesbitt the Essendon v Geelong "Country Game" is one of the lamest concepts I have ever heard of in AFL footy. If Melbourne are looking for marquee fixture concept playing Carlton, I have already given this some thought. The "Old City Derby". The early history of football in Melbourne had one rivalry that was seminal to popularising footy into the cultural fabric of gold rush boom "Marvellous Melbourne" of the 1870s, that was Melbourne v Carlton games. These two clubs at that stage in history had growing and passionate support and a genuine rivalry emerged years and decades before some current Melbourne AFL clubs were even founded. The 1876 game at Carlton's then Madeline Street (now Swanston Street) Reserve on land reserved for the Roman Catholic College (now Newman College) at the University of Melbourne was the first ever game that charged an entry free and thousands turned up to watch. The entry fee was to recoup the costs of levelling the reserve and fencing it off for football. Surplus funds were donated to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After this 1876 game many cricket ovals who had shunned football clubs from using their ovals suddenly realised the popularity and commercial appeal of football in Melbourne and opened their cricket ovals to newly formed football clubs. A sport that was a quirky winter pastime for cricketers had evolved into a sporting obsession for many in 1870s Melbourne. Funds could be collected to donate to a health related charity, this would mirror what was done 150 years ago. The winner could receive a cup named after player that had a major impact at both clubs, the Ronald D. Barassi Cup.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
No, not us, we went 'casual'. I did have a Demons scarf in the backpack but it was a warm arvo so not needed 😊 What quarter were my Blue Brethern dancing a jig? 😁

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
I took my young son to watch Dees v Lions at the MCG yesterday. Was a beautiful sunny, autumnal day for footy and a great game to watch. Whenever I take him to the footy I don't get to watch the game as well as when I go on my own (snack breaks, toilet breaks, kicking the footy outside at HT etc, lol) but will watch the full replay over the next day or so. Great to see the Dees able to break away from the stodginess of the later Goodwin years and the fresh faces and ideas have really brought some excitement and entertainment to MFC!

NON-MFC: Round 06
Blues leading in the 4th quarter, unchartered territory for this season I think? We can definitely blow it, hoping we don't [still ditch Voss anyway though 😁].
