Yes, much better than changing the name of Ormond (the suburb of my childhood) 😁

Kane Cornes to Slam Carlton
Yes indeed. Was a bit worried with Walsh copping a knock very early but he got back into it and finished the game strongly. Jagga is quality. Good hit out for the Blues, showing some positive intent with the ball even if execution in front of goals needs to become more polished. Real test comes against Sydney next week. Not expecting a win but want them to at least be competitive for 4 quarters.

Kane Cornes to Slam Carlton
This! Walsh is valued internally for his mentality, professional approach to training, competetive nature and leadership qualities. He is Carlton's next captain. This is all factored into his contract price & length.

Training Ground?
Spot on. I drove down Kingsway near Albert Park lake on the weekend and saw a partially errected footbridge. That will be just for the F1 GP and then dismanted.

Wade Derksen
I think 'FORS' is the statistical acronym for creating a forced turnover against your opposition. Anyways, Derksen will get a slot in the senior Carlton list. A bit harsh for Will White (who was good towards the end of last season) but the Blues need tall defensive cover more than a small foward and list spots are at a premium.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
I watched the first half and then had to tske the boy to cricket practice so only caught snippets of Q3 & Q4. Dees looked very good. New boys Mihocek and Steele looked very good, Latrelle Pickett looks to be a livewire and Kentfield might have some potential. A very good first hit out by the Dees 👍

NON-MFC: 2026 Practice Matches Week 01
I did chuckle thinking "Trac, you are playing before what seems to be a Covid-19 lockdown sized crowd" From the hallowed halls of the MCG in the beating heart of Melbourne to a little stadium in the Gold Coast hinterland. Enjoy your time at Porpoise Spit CP3 😁

NON-MFC: 2026 Practice Matches Week 01
Saints looked quite good as the game went on. But then again, last year in a pre-season practice match Carlton won by 60 odd points against GWS only to lose to Richmond in Round 1 😁 GC Suns looked decent in the first quarter but really fell off as the game went on. They did have some key players out. Might be some worrying signs for their second tier players though? 🤔 I always like to assess things after 3 to 4 rounds of the real season, get a much better handle where things sit then.

Suggestion for Demonland Podcast Opening Music/Announce
I like the 80s retro vibe of 'C'mon Demons' makes me feel like tapping my moccasins whilst watching Ch7 VFL footy on a Sunday morning in my PJs whilst my mum made me toast 😁
-
Wade Derksen
If Motlop is put on the Long Term Injury (LTI) list then both E Hollands and Derksen can be signed up. That is what I anticipate will happen. Derksen looked good out there last night.

Yes. The Blues better sign him up. Looked handy out there.
