Training Ground?
I quite like what has been done in a short time with GW in the CEO seat already but he has been working at 400 Royal Parade, Carlton North for 10 months already so probably has a handle on the most pressing issues. I am anticipating both the Blues and Dees to be contenders again in a few years, hopefully see some great tussles at the MCG in the near future ... Melbourne v Carlton is actually the oldest club rivalry in footy stemming from the 1870s when the new sport transitioned from a winter novelty for cricket players to becoming something that is woven into the social fabric of this city. Clubs like Collingwood and Hawthorn did not even exist in this era and came decades later!

Lukewarm on him, not that he was poor but I get the feeling he didn't make some harder calls as he was in pre-retirement mode. But then again, he did bring in Graham Wright on his way out and turning around the HMAS Carlton FC is a long project 😁

I just said it in jest 😉 I'm all for giving Vossy another year or two now that we have some new coaching assistants, football department people and some disruptive influences have left. Just hoping to see savvy drafting & trading and some steady improvements over the next couple of years. Feeling quietly confident that things are starting to move in better directions with Graham Wright as the CEO ... 2026 will be an interesting season ...

If you see "Sack Voss" spray painted in the Gate 21 tunnel, you know I visited 😁

Major League Baseball
I caught all of the games except for Game 2 (caught highlights though). It was really gripping and entertaining. Congrats to the Blue Jays as well, not much srparating them from the Dodgers. Not a huge baseball fan but started getting into it when holidaying in Korea on several occasions (baseball is big there, probably the No.1 sport and the LA Dodgers are hugely popular there btw).

I went to the monthly market at the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve for the first time yesterday. Its a great location, and so easy to get to via rail at Caulfield station. I was half expecting the tunnel under the racecourse turf to be dark and dingy but it was pleasant. Really hoping the Dees can set up shop here for a permanent training home 👍

Kozzi Pickett - Will he be an all time MFC great?
If he can maintain the intensity, I see no reason why not.

Move some VFL/AFLW games to Port Melbourne, Caulfield will be constructed 6 months ahead of schedule 😁

So the Dees camp out at Waverley temporarily whilst Punt Road is being developed and the Tigers then use Gosch's Paddock? 🤔

Welcome to Demonland: Picks 7 & 8
Correctamundo. Even am a Dees member.

What shambles? 🤔 After this trade period this is the best place Carlton have been in the last year or so. A clean out is in process, just like at MFC. As for young Harry Dean, the father son academy at Princes Park is named the 'Peter Dean Father-Son Academy' ... so speak to young Harry as much as you want, Harry is wearing Navy Blue next year 😉

Grading the Trade Week
I am fine with Curnow leaving as we got a good trade in return (and I would say a majority of other supporters are too), this would have been unthinkable 12 months ago but Charlie been quite poor in his mindset, attitude the whole of this last season. He responded poorly to some justified criticism of him inside the club. A supremely talented footballer but also an immature manchild at times. I think our forward set up was way to Curnow centric, when he was out towards the end of the season we became more unpredictable up front and gosls came ftom a greater spread of players. Will be interesting to see how it all looks like next season 🤔 Harry McKay to win the Coleman medal 💪😁
