Is James Brayshaw OK? How do you confuse Joel Selwood for Dangerfield?
-
Umpire: "Picks up dissent by scent from 50m away" Also Umpire: "No, that wasn't a high tackle from Joel Selwood. How could it be? His name is Selwood!"
-
I think you'll find he spoke respectfully and gestured in the universal human mode of communication saying "my eternal apologies precious lord umpire may you live forever."
-
It's so we respect their adjudications more.

Look at what you've done to me Gil, you have me going for the Hawks!!!

The AFL have absolutely no idea how to manage change. The number 1 thing you need to do is ensure your stakeholders know what is going to happen when the change takes effect, so they're not confused and disenfranchised when the change does happen.

I hate Tom Hawkins with every fibre of my body, and I hate this umpire abuse rule.

*Premierships not included (no, none of them)

I reckon Frost is still OK. He's no May though!

Jeez the cats look slow. They'll smack some underdeveloped teams but they're no threat whatsoever.

You don't start your captain on the bench. I don't care what the reason is, you just don't do it.
-
I guess the rise of Melbourne really did start in the hub.

Not sure how you're convinced about Carlton after their last two weeks. Showing up for the first half and just getting over the line ain't gonna cut it for a whole year of home and away, let alone the insanity that is finals pressure.

The very, very contentious 50 for Dissent Rule

Don't do what? That's the problem. -
Weid out, Brown in. No question. There was a moment during the last quarter where he was in spitting distance of a giant who had the ball. Weid just stood there for a couple of seconds before you actually saw the cog turn in his brain that he should try to impact the ball carrier. McDonald would have smothered without even thinking, and that’s why he stays in the side.

Premiership quarter there from the Dees.

Lever ismoving fine in the warm ups thankfully. Let’s do him a favour and not let the ball ping down there quite so frequently, hey Clarry? edit: Autocorrect
-
Giants have made a game of it thanks to a slew of dubious free kicks. Lever looks a little proppy after tripping over his own feet.
-
Petty straight back in as if he never left. Loving the accuracy.

I’m still getting used to making my way to the footy from my new place and I reckon I’ll miss most of the first quarter. So if we’re up by a mile when I get there you can thank me

When the footy is so bad that I'm watching the rugby, you know there's an issue.

What an atrocious night of one-sided football.

I reckon no matter how far the dogs get in front, no team will think they're out of it as long as they can arrest momentum and make the dogs run the other way.
-
Bulldogs have no ticker, so if the Roos can keep the heat on and prevent the Dogs from having it all on their terms, they could well have a shot - probably too far back though after that joke of a 1st quarter.

It's a strange recipe of pity mixed with ambivalence, with a sprinkle of "why don't they just give up and fold"?
