Trent Rivers' run is so so good.

The thing that strikes me comparing this game to last night's is the pure structure of Melbourne's play. It's really professionally done, and I think even the dodgy looking forward entries are built to reinforce and enable this structure. Whether it can hold up and outscore your Collingwoods and Port Adelaides in finals remains to be seen but it's definitely different than their gamestyles.

I don't think any self-respecting football watcher can say any team has much of a head-start on the flag honestly. Pretty much every top four side has lost to every other combination of top four side, not to mention the 5-8 sides. It's going to be a bloody even last month of football to decide things, and that's great. Go Dees!

I think port are tiring and the pies will run away with this, and stake their claim for all doubters as being the clear hunted side this year.

What an electric first quarter. I think it's pretty clear many sides are fighting fire with fire this year, and it will be a bit of a crapshoot. I back the Dees gameplan to bring a bit of control to these other maniac sides going hell for leather.

Quaynor is 100% the best small defender in the comp.

These two sides and Brisbane are so so aggressive. Hopefully our sanity and commitment to a defensive game is the difference this year, because it's certainly bucking the trend.

Call it my last vestige of MFCSS. I think some of the bigger clubs and those who had won one recently, with COVID, didn't care quite as much. It wasn't at the MCG. Win another one at the G with this group and I'll value them both equally, but fail to win another one and I'll view 2021 in a very different light.
