We are better off having that experience, no matter how we get there. And Melbourne vs Port at Adelaide Oval after a rest for our young players isn't exactly an unwinnable game.

I can't believe how many people think the same club that lost to us on their home deck is a lay-down misere to beat the ladder leaders. Of course it could happen, but my word. Oh wait, they BOTH lost to us on their home deck, so we're obviously the better side, and therefore deserve to make finals... Not only do WCE have to win, they have to do it by 4 goals.

I just finished watching Goodwin at his press conference. He consistently said we didn't talk about what was at stake, and yet the players came out nervous and didn't hit a tackle for 11 minutes to start the game. Most human beings can't just block things out; we need to talk about things. I wonder if the Goodwin-led unwillingness to talk about finals meant that the players couldn't get that out of their systems midweek and came in with baggage that stopped them playing hard aggressive footy. It wasn't until the game was almost gone that we seemed to put that stuff to bed and just play.
