Who knows, but we really need to move Petracca on. Good to keep cards close to chest and not reveal anything to maximise return but make this happen. I was in the keep Petracca trade Oliver camp until recently but I'm totally the other way now after..

Finally some brilliant leadership. You don't want someone coaching that isn't fully invested or sees it as just 'another job. Putting Buckley on the spot today demanding an answer on whether he'd take it now was brilliant thinking. We have dodged a bullet big time and look to have someone invested.

Hawthorn won't be pursuing Petracca if they have Merritt (which will almost certainly happen now you'd think) based on his trade request

Well now that Merritt apparently wants to go to Hawthorn (Essendon cannot get in his way), looks like we have got Petracca for 2026...

Petracca's speech at the B&F just then accepting his 2nd place (still perplexed by that) doesn't feel me with any confidence that he wants to stay...

Come on everyone. Look at the bigger picture. We have been competitive since round 5 and are taking some learnings.

Unfortunately the feeling at this time of year has been unrivalled since about 2015 in terms of the flatness and irrelevancy of the rest of our season (2019 we were raveled with injuries). At least then we were building. Now we have a super talented team who don't appear to give a stuff. Goodwin still refuses to drop underperforming veterans because he wants to clock irrelevant wins against lower sides for his own win-loss record and survival, when he should be playing other fringe players and youngsters to see whether they're up to it. This will be detrimental to our season next year and leave us with little depth.

Maybe he should go back and watch a replay of his previous games and pull his head out of the sand if this is true. It's not an entitlement to be getting senior games.
