He would have 100 less goals if that rule was applied equally

The difference in holding the ball this round to 6 weeks ago is crazy. To be clear I’m happy how it is now.

I’d rather not give Coll/Geel/Carl the ability to manufacture outrage at decisions that go against them through disingenuous malice. Unintended consequences and all that Jazz.

I wonder what the ladder would look like if you also included expected inside 50 kicks to leading forwards. I.e. if entries went to leading players as opposed to on top of/over/completely missing the target that doesn’t result in a score. Too time consuming I know, but I’d love to know.

More injuries.... Blergh.... GWS will see this game as crucial to getting a top 4 finish so they'll be coming out hard and will put us under pressure. Freo has also shown that relentlessly quick ball movement is how to undo us. We really need the mid-field to step up and not allow another mauling. If Hogan/Cadman/ Riccardi get similar entries freo got, they'll all kick a bag. So what's in our control is relentless 4 quarter pressure!!!! On paper GWS is a much stronger team so that's how we can get control of the game. We also need to be brave and back ourselves in trying to move the ball quickly. Our best footy this year has been when we are moving the ball at speed. Need to put GWS on the back foot early as they can kick away quickly and we'll struggle to get back momentum considering we did that by winning clearances in the centre and around the ground. We need to force them to make turn overs so we can rebound quickly. Get the ball to Melk across half forward as he is our best option for Forward connectivity. We won't win this unless we are brave IMO.
  11. Pleasingly pleasing.

Awesome. Allows us to concentrate on recruiting for other parts of the ground.
  14. Yeah he was just not given any respect in 2021. Just boot it out to his wing and most of the time he’d be there in a paddock of space. Yeah today was just a smacking. We looked a half move behind them every time and they were just set up so much better. They got it out at will and was almost like JL knew what all our centre bounce set ups were going to be. Out coached in the middle completely and the numbers reflect that.
  15. Ok case in point! meters gained metric 2021 - 417.4 meters gained 2022 - 376.3 MG 2023 - 320.5 MG 2024 - 277.5 MG So one metric with a big drop off. All the others are pretty much the same. So 100 meters less in 2 years.
  16. Yeah maybe! It’s compiled by a lot of stats so if he maintains the majority of them but falls away significantly in 1 or 2 stats, I’d imagine that will send his ratings plummeting. Not an expert so take this with a grain of salt, haha
  17. Yeah that’s a fair call. Would you say Ed Langdons role has changed much in the last 2 seasons? Seems to still occupy a wing and run from one end to the other. But to agree with you, those ratings don’t seem to reflect my own opinion that Ed is having a better year this year than the previous 2 despite going down in ratings considerably 🤷‍♂️
  18. He got a possession in the last and burned away easily from a Freo playing in chase. His top speed is up there at 34.2km/hr
  19. Went and had a look at some player ratings numbers for all players. I wanted to see how sparrow ranked for the whole AFL and randomly picked another player which was Ed Langdon. 2022: Tom Sparrow was 275th ranked player. 2023: Ranked 219. 2024: Ranked 333 Big progression in one season but then a bigger regression 2024. For juxtaposition… Ed Langdon - 2022: ranked 238 2023: ranked 257 2024: ranked 323. Ed on the other handed has had 2 seasons in a row of regression. Going by the player ratings alone, you could argue Ed Langdons effect on games this year are only just better than Tom Sparrow. Doesn’t feel like it but the rankings are what they are. Edit: this is neither an endorsement or defence of Tom Sparrow. Just interesting to look at some numbers and compare him to another player.
  20. Absolute mauling.
  21. Genuinely asking, what would you have done?
  22. Whoah hold off, I’ve done one of those things and it wasn’t a new religion.
  23. Happy to eat my hat and hat my eat. Sorry Goody 👒 🧢 🎩
  24. That was also the year Collingwood had plenty of injuries going into finals and they only just lost the GF from a clutch kick from a tight angle. Everyone is gettable this year. 1 or 2 bad injuries to any team is going to change finals.
  25. I think both TMac and JVR need to play their main roles for the majority of the game for us to win so I’d rather see someone come in and just try to make a contest in the ruck, but mids to rove off Draper. Haven’t watched any Casey so no idea who is the better option out of Fullarton/Verrall.
