The players shouldn't have even needed motivating in that last game against Collingwood! Sure the coaching staff have to take some responsibility but ultimately, as far as i'm concerned it was the players that let the club down that day....the effort in the first quarter was inexcusable! But then again, maybe the coaches should have cranked "Eye of the Tiger" a little louder in the rooms before the game.

I get the feeling the players love Jack as a person and love having him around, because he is without a doubt a terrific guy. But from an outsiders point of view, I also get the feeling they don't necessarily love Jack "the footballer".....not all the time anyway.

Yes...lets. I appreciate the response and can certainly see where you are coming from. BUT who's to say they haven't already had these meetings/conversations with him and he isn't holding up his end of the bargain? If that's the case (and i'm not saying it is) perhaps, they've finally had enough of the lip service.

All we have heard through the MFC spokespeople in the media is that they demand better preparation and higher output from Jack compared to what he's produced so far.. All i'm saying Jumbo is that there are clearly bigger issues and much finer details relating to these comments that none of us know about... As far as i'm concerned, i'd love Jack to stay if he's going to give 100% and be the best player he can be...but if the club believe it's more beneficial to our club long term to not have him there, then i'm all for the trade!

Dangerfield was put on the spot and responding to a question about Jack. He's not exactly going to say he's rubbish is he? Never have I heard a player interviewed, when asked about another player potentially coming to their club, that hasn't wrapped the bloke up. Dangerfield would have next to no idea what's gone on behind closed doors in relation to Jack's attitude or application, relating to goals set for him by the club....none of us really do!

I was there with my Dad as an 11 year old, as well as the following week against Sydney. I've never experienced an atmosphere at a Melbourne game like either of those games since. The groundswell of support for us was unforgettable. The Melbourne chant around the G was spine tingling.

A 336 hour bender will do that.

The club admin staff must've absolutely ropeable at the situation. 1. They are copping an absolute barrage this week from the supporter base through no fault of theirs. 2. They are now going to have to absolutely work their asses off again next year, to pull in similar membership numbers to this year.
