He could also work really hard with Burgess over Summer and get himself sorted.
    Motivation may have been lacking...

Cant argue with your point but in true MFCSS style i was feeling glass half empty about it.

  2. yeah seems to ask a few uneasy point considering he's on the "staff"

im genuinely uneasy with a large amount of the answers in this interview, it sounds like our entire footy department have ignored the 2018 prelim and all of 2019 as a "1 off"

Still firmly believe a lot of our issues are from selecting too many inside mids in the team each week taking games off the specialist position players ruining the game style

Jordan will get a game soon.  Gives us some things we are missing.

Sparrow I fear wont play any time soon... hes an inside mid and theres simply no room for him.

    100% with jordan

I still like the look of sparrow, good size, clean hands, hard nut mentality, reads the ball exceptionally well and foot skills arent terrible

  4. totally agree he is on the downward spiral but surely that should mean the next in line is looking to step up and take the red hot small opposition player allowing jetta to then destroy 2nd/3rd best or play as a spare chopping off contests like he has done so many times in the past years.

dont worry about not having him as a son in law just think we're only 8-10 years away from recruiting his kids under father son rule!

Watching the replay.  Harley Bennell is the smoothest mover we have had at the club perhaps since Robbie Flower.

Despite 3 years out of the game he looks a level above out there.  His footy brain is elite.   Just wait until he heats up.

We would have beaten Geelong if he had played.

everything he does looks in slow motion but everyone around him seems even slower, CLASS!

We need midfield depth. Trade Brayshaw and next year the depth is Jones, Sparrow or Jordon.

Sparrow & Jordan look likely to break into the team soon anyway both are developing nicely and both bring something a little different to our mids

  7. Are the coaches asking too much of Lord Nev and setting him up to fail with the matchup tasks they set for him?

Granted i don't believe anyone thought Rankine would be quite as electric as he was but he absolutely torched him for pace.

And previous game he played r2 vs Carlton he was expected to clean up the coaches mess and play on MacKay who has him covered twice over for height......WTF!

We all love Nev and his ability to cover tall & small has been outstanding over the years but surely he has also earns the right to be appropriately matched up each week. the art of coaching is surely largely about getting the best out of your players and having Jetta play roles like this to cover for the coaching groups one dimensional game style is having a negative effect on his career.

Listened to this analysis for the first time tonight. He seems fairly bitter and there is evidence that he has bad blood with Goody.

while I agree with the disconnect argument and that each line is out of sink, he made a few observations that seemed more relevant to last season that this year. The ‘bees to a honeypot’ problem has not been an issue this year for mine. We have stopped committing too many at the ball in the midfield. I think he was way off with that point.

we have found ourselves out in plenty of space, with run, but continually choose the wrong option and/or poorly execute the final kick inside 50.

They may have reduced the "bees to a honey pot" by still happens at crucial moments.

What kills me is watching the forward 50 get absolutely swamped by our player instead if keep that arc of 4-6 player across the centre just 60-70m out. Stopping the exit and creating space for the forwards.

  9. bit rich of the club to drop tomlinson after making him ruck, the exact reason he wanted out of GWS and was the main selling point he noted when he signed "goody wants me as a specialist wingman" ha also went on to [censored] about playing all over the ground and not getting any continuity in his game having to be Mr Fix it utility.

Let Tracca coach Clarrie on how to get to the right spots and pick the right option. If taught well, Clarrie could do the same standing on his head. He is that good also.

If only Oliver knew how powerful he is and can be and would back himself to gather and clear the contest instead of blind handballs back inside the contest to a stationary player whom is most likely outnumbered

  11. Disclaimer MFCSS in full effect on this point but.......

Are we just the case and point of wrong place wrong time as a club? Granted by our own failings.

Consider this, we decided to head to the draft and turn the entire list over during a period of league expansion causing a heavily compromised draft for 5-6 years and in effect creating a double "rebuild" due to lack of available high end talent that was drafted.

Now when we do get access to the "elite" talent via the draft we overload on inside/contest ball mids based winning at a game that had become rolling maul stoppage footy league wide.......the run and gun style of the 90's & early 00's was over.

With that in mind just as our so called re-built rebuild starts to come of age we go on an amazing run winning more game each year and climb up the ladder crescendoing into a Prelim final appearance with the 1st or 2nd youngest list in the league.

the very next year after 4-5 years of talent pooling and game style planning the AFL decide enough is enough, No More Rolling Maul Football.

    Insert the 6-6-6.........

we no longer have the ability to line up our extra mids around the centre square and have to rely on traditional hand/foot skills to control the passage of play. I'd be preaching to the choir to start delving into how they currently go by hand/foot ?

Was it all just the perfect storm leading to completely nullifying our squads ability to compete and basically rendering any "innovations" Goodwin and his group of under-achieving assistants yesterdays news?

none of this should stand as an excuse for our current level of success but it may very well have been the silent catalyst for our demise.

Jack viney.  Easily. Loves a hospital handball

This i why he was our captain at such a young age, he decided as a wee little mini-todd to shell some pee's and ditch the ball high into the air to an unsuspecting poor helpless team mate.

    That takes real leadership?

  13. Are we the Ultimate Handball INTO congestion team to ever play the game?

It feels like 2 out of 3 kicks/handballs are Hospital passes.
