I was searching for a Jake Melksham appreciation thread to give it a bump but it doesn’t appear there is one (which is hard to believe). So here it is This bloke has been excellent. 34 in August and playing the best footy of his career. And after missing the guts of a year due to an ACL. Phenomenal effort. I thought he was finished a couple of seasons back but he’s like a fine wine. Gets better with age If we contend this year I’m sure Jake will be a big contributor. Brilliant stuff Melks. McKay is certainly not flawless but he did kick 49.21 last year. obviously the price needs to be right but to dismiss him out of hand is ridiculous

There are not terrible but they are not great either. Not many good disposers. And they are not a young team. They do not look like a top 4 team and I’m not sure there’s improvement to come to make them top 4. I don’t think their list is in great shape. McKay is the obvious sacrifice to try to improve them elsewhere.

I think Carlton will sacrifice him for picks. They don’t have much good young talent and don’t look like competing so they have to try something. I’d be tempted at the right price but not sure we have the picks to do the deal.

might not have had his normal number of disposals but still got 17. and didn't waste any as per usual. i loved his double block in the 4th to stymie a certain swans goal. not sure if he got a stat for that but it was excellent

I reckon AJ is a ripper bloke so i'm not being mean spirited here but I agree 100% with your post a handpass here and a tap there is not going to cut it if bullocking, chaos and intimidation is the measure then head down to doherty's gym and you'll find plenty of candidates (although their aerobic capacity might be a problem)
