They have no obnoxious supporters to deal with should they win so I reckon I’ll jump on the orange tsunami for finals.
  2. A win isn't as important as having a proper crack. Last week was just not acceptable. I'm bringing some overseas work colleagues that are in town along to see a game of footy. Would be a shame if we don't put up a fight and this game is as one sided as last week. That said, we don't chuck in the towel at the G so i expect us to bring plenty of effort. We're badly out of form and missing key players so I'm not hopeful of a positive result but as long as we try hard I'll be happy. Go dees

Talk of a dynasty and our great culture post our 21 flag turned out to be hot air/hubris. Foolish remarks in hindsight. Flags are very very difficult to win. We were banged up in 22 and our forward line was decimated last year going into finals. Yes we should have beaten the pies but who's to say we would have been able to win a PF and granny from there given our makeshift forward line. Talk of winning more than one flag overrates our list imv. We finished 4th on the ladder last year remember so we weren't a standout team by any stretch of the imagination. And are we really better than Carlton, Brisbane, GWS etc. I don't think we are. we're about to finish 12th or 13th for Christ's sakes. I'm delighted we won one flag and disappointed we weren't good enough or healthy enough to challenge for another. If we're smart this trade period, freshen up the coaching team and have a chunk of luck we might be able to snare another one next year. Possible but we need a lot to go our way. and it wouldn't surprise me if we go into rebuild mode either.

If we're considering trading Jack Viney then we're in rebuild mode. Given Tassy team entering the comp soon reloading through the draft now makes sense. This should only happen if this is right for Jack and his family. We should not force him out. if he wants to stay then he stays.

Ordinary game. Hard to believe that the Swans looked unbeatable for the first 3 months of the season. their form has deserted them and I don't think they can regain it this year.
  6. Whilst mathematically possible our chances of making the 8 are practically zero. AMW has struggled at times but he needs the experience. Play the kids should be the go from here
  7. We were super fit during our finals run in 2021. blew teams out of the water. It's not like our current fitness team are doing a stellar job. A change is justified imv so if he's available we should bring him back.

what parts of the article are incorrect? Cornes tells it like it is. no doubt he looks for headlines around trade period to drum up clicks so i'm sceptical when he writes on trade topics. He doesn't like long contracts for any player and never heard him comment otherwise. and i discount what he says about Port because he's biased but in general his comments are valid. Our future is not set in stone. We can get back on track with some smart trading, Clarry getting back to his best, injured players returning, change up the assistants etc. all is not lost.

Thought he had retired already. When i saw this thread pop up i assumed we had taken him on in some sort of coaching role
  10. Legend player. up there with the greats 3 norm smiths. that will never be matched. definition of a big game player and he may as well trademark the fend off

He won us a flag so deserves respect. Has come through adversity before. Hopefully can do so again and lead us to number 14
  13. Huge tank. Not many in the AFL with his stamina levels. Recent form has been very good and deserves an extension.
  14. That west coast team partied hard. I hope that a difference rather than a similarity with our boys.

Pendlebury has been a great player. 400 games is an amazing achievement. And he played well tonight. i reckon he'll go around again.

i think doggies are the form team in the comp. if they can finish top 4 i'd give them as a good a chance any of winning it

that was some handball from daicos out of stoppage. 20 meters and his teammate didn't have to break stride.

They are badly out of form recently no doubt. But the manner of this performance is shocking. they are fumbling, getting caught HTB, dropping marks. comical defending. They are playing like North 2022 and 2023. I can't see them recovering from this and challenging for the flag
  24. BDA replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
do you think they'll be able to compartmentalise this and move on EO.

This is a flag killing shellacking. psychologically devasting for the Swans
