  1. I am loathed to comment on this topic as I never listen to the man in question but the reference to us being out in straight sets has so much to do with bad luck in 2023. Thank you Maynard. And the only reason he was on our side in the later half on the year (I have to take your word for that) is we are a bloody good team.

This sounds a bit like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

Exactly! We finally found the game through TNT English broadcaster.  A very excited Aussie couple barracking for Melbourne joined us half way through. Just fly in from Egypt.

  3. Demon fans traveling in Turkiye. Me and my die hard son. Managed to find a bar in Istanbul to watch the Dees and Maggies. But now heading into more rural areas. Can anyone suggest a way to watch the Carlton dees game on our phone? Would appreciate any help. Go red legs!

  4. I agree with your post about the ins Binman, especially the point about JVR.  to enhance his development as a player and maximize the likelihood he is fit, firing and in ripping form come finals. I listened to Goodie just after the the GWS defeat and even though Fritsch was injured Goodie indicated, with a funny smirk on his face,  that JVR was still 'learning'.  It was obvious early in the week JVR would not be playing against the Saints

Dees to win easily with the goal kicking yips to be put to bed!

  5. To me the vision shows he does slide up the shoulder of Smith and make contact with the head. He will be made an example of necessary stricter head contact rules. Time to stop using past outcomes as 'a get out of jail free card' and take this action out of the game.

    Apart from that -

Wonderful game Kozzy. See you in a couple of weeks!

  6. The Dees will heading into the finals winning these last two games easily as their goal kicking clicks into 'finals' gear. We are playing ourselves into impressive form in the middle. Brisbane was lucky to win last night. A sad display of King's goal kicking yips a reminder to us the importance of a healthy mindset.

  7. Great win Dees against an inform team with more to loss and good to conserve your energy in the last dying minutes when the game was won. (I think?) As for Melk's run down, good to see him keep going even though my own grandmother could have kept up with that Port player

  8. I would love to see all other clubs following the respectful acknowledgement of Indigenous name changes during the Indigenous round as The Narrm Demons have done. It's a great way for us all to learn some First Nation place name history. Well done Narrm!

  9. I thought the emphasis on the rules were protect the head at all cost. Feel for Chandler. He walks his dog in the same park as me and he is an upstanding fella and could see how shock he was over the incident. But just because Bowey is 'rubber man' does not justify Ryan's 1 week suspension. That action, which the AFL is suppose to be stamping out, would have knocked most players in the league.

  10. It interested me that even though we were beaten in the last quarter by a lesser team, those that were interviewed after the game, Petracca, May and Lever all stayed positive and focused on the win. In the past the 'disappointing last quater that we can learn from' rhetoric would have come into play. The mindset of this team is all about winning, not percentages. Go Dees!

In all probability, Smith would have a premiership medallion had he not been injured during the finals

Agreed! Smith was impressive in the finals till injured. Not many at his hight can run along side Charlie Cameron. I think he is worth round 1 selection.

I was sad to see Jack leave the Club. He was loyal, provided some highlights and there were few other players I’d want kicking for me to save the house.
Having said that he would not get within a bulls roar of this current Melbourne side. Every player has to play team defence and every player dedicated to the team not the individual.

Plus we made out like bandits scoring Fritsch in return for Watts

I was sad to see him go too. This dedication to the team and not the individual has see some of the current players develop in a winning team. Why would it be any different if Jack stayed at the club and was given the opportunities to developed a defensive, team orientation mindset along with them.
