  1. Got a likely concussion in the first 30 seconds of the game. Classic MFC 2019.
  2. I want to change things. If you want to just keep going as we are then that's your call mate, but we currently sit 17th with a genuine chance of finishing last. Time to actually shake things up, change the dynamic, reaffirm selection culture and get back our balls.
  3. OUT: OMac, Viney, Brayshaw, Wagners, T.Smith, ANB IN: May, Maynard, JKH, Hore, Dunkley, Weid, Lockhart If we want things to change, you have to do enough to force that.
  4. You saw his leg last week yeah? Add that to his already horrible tank and that 'run run run' would last about 8 minutes. Plenty of time for running during the week.
  5. Geez Gawn's insights into the post-match message from Goody are horrible. Apparently we played well but couldn't finish off. Apparently they DON'T KNOW why they get killed on transition. Talking up the Richmond game, pretty much brushing off today. What a soulless club.
  6. I'll crack a few for you JB... Viney - Not a captain Brayshaw - Mentally checked out OMac - Enjoy Gold Coast Goodwin - Camp ghosts remain The rest - Did they play?
  7. Fun fact: Every team that has sacked their coach is above us on the ladder. *Potentially can included Adelaide in that if you believe the rumours.
  8. There's a lot to play for every game (for good footy clubs). We're 17th.
  9. Really, what did people expect tonight? Nothing to play for. Games like this are all about pride, culture and your fans. We have no pride. We have no culture. So who cares about the fans.
  10. Lever continuing to improve too, and have liked Corey Wagner's intent.
  11. Jones is rated as one of our best kicks this year. Don't know if that says he's harshly done by or shows how terrible our other players are.
  12. Both teams have had horrible skills, Saints have smashed us in the clearances, and that's where we need to start to turn things around.
  13. Fair enough mate, can totally understand how you'd feel that way. I guess for me, I see it more as Roos could have potentially changed his game style and match day moves based on the far better personnel Goodwin inherited, but we'll never know. I do think it's important to remember the quality of players he had at his disposal to implement that brand of footy though. The same things have often been said about Goodwin, and we've had a few beltings under him, with a far better list.
  14. What makes you think the players were over him exactly? I don't agree with you, but open to hearing what made you think that, and then also what that tells you about the players if so.
  15. Gaff is still being booed at every game at every venue right? Right.....?
  16. I remember Lewis punching a young player in the jaw, yet weirdly he hasn't been booed every game since... Weird.
  17. Yeah i think a lot will hinge on how Goody manages to balance his (seeming) want for total control (or stubbornness possibly), his need for better support, building relationships with a group that has had no consistency in lineup this year and re-intstilling the work ethic we've missed this year. Really intriguing offseason where we have to balance stability and change.
  18. Not sure I agree, but I get where you're coming from. I just don't buy the 'line in the sand' stuff with this club anymore. We've had more than enough of those and generally failed at them. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like this year has exposed that our culture wasn't totally fixed and when tested (aka 'line in the sand') it doesn't stand up. I'm not blaming the results on that solely as there's clearly many other factors at work, but just the way we've gone about it as a club this year has been so cardboard and listless that it feels like we're back to the 'just show up and get a paycheck' type of culture. I know to some it might sound silly, and we don't talk about it much anymore, but I still can't shake the feeling that things turned somewhat with the cancelled camp.
  19. We're irrelevant, that's why. The only scrutiny we've copped has pretty much been from former Dees in the media.
  20. Legend! Really appreciated @kev martin! Geez I'm hoping we get in an actual goal kicking coach when we start the coaching reshuffle.
  21. Yeah for sure, especially since exiting pokies. That's part of what I wanted to show there, but also I wanted to show how invested PJ seemed in the connections we've built with the NT, the community and the programs we've instigated there.
  22. Sorry mate, but that's rubbish. There's been countless worse stagers in the game but none of them were booed with the continuity or ferocity over the same length of time as Goodes. That's just a cop out excuse. There was literally a handful of 'incidents', maybe less, where Goodes 'staged', yet somehow it's weaseled it's way into the story of why he 'brought it upon himself'.
  23. “We at the Melbourne Football Club looked around and said ‘how good is playing a game of elite sport with a backdrop like this, which is the heart and soul of Australian history and heritage’, so we pushed a bit harder.” “Apart from it being a unique game in a unique setting, the whole purpose now is to give something back to the Aboriginal community around Alice Springs on the back of AFL football,” he said. “We understand our commitment and responsibility to give back, and this game will give us the opportunity to really make a difference.” Jackson: it’s an absolute privilege “We are extremely proud of this partnership, which is now in its seventh year,” Jackson said. “We see it as an important partnership for the whole of club, both on and off the field." “With the launch of the AFL Next Generation Academies earlier this year, we see our club aligned to the Alice Springs region." “Our alignment is deeper than playing matches in the Territory for premiership points; the Next Generation Academy will enable us to be actively involved in introducing children of all backgrounds to the game and provide aspirational pathways for players, coaches, umpires and administrators." Melbourne extends NT partnership He also said the Demons needed to take commercial considerations into account as they transitioned out of gaming, but effectively ruled out Melbourne playing in China, with the Suns set to stop playing in that game. Demons want bye after Darwin game
