  1. Hey Guys,

Wonderful that you're travelling for the game, it's a highlight of our calendar and something every Demons fan should experience at least once in their lives.

One of the better places to stay is the DoubleTree Hilton along the river. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the ground, most of it around the river, so it's nice. It also takes about 15 mins to walk into town. This accomodation is also home to Alice's best restaurant, Hanumans (you'll need to book).

    Link here: https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/aspdadi-doubletree-alice-springs/?WT.mc_id=zLADA0AU1DT2PSH3GGL4INTBPP5dkt6ASPDADI7en_&epid!_&ebuy!&&&&&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9ZbWqq-9gwMV0DyDAx1xiAilEAAYASAAEgJdl_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Another option is the Mercure Alice Springs Resort (Where the players stayed last year). The food here is also pretty good.

Cafes/Restaurants: Page 27 (Coffee, Breakfast, Lunch); Epilogue (Coffee, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner); Alice Springs Bakery (Coffee, Lunch [be early they sell out]).

Also the Alice Springs Brewery is well worth a visit. It's just on the outskirts of town so you'll need to drive or take a taxi. Great beer and plenty of food options.

I'll add to this post as time goes on. Feel free to ask any questions. See you at the game!

    Not a bad backflip forkie

Mate you're actually dumber then I thought you were, so I'll spell it out for you. I'm questioning your repeated criticism of our footy clubs recruiting team, not the potential, speculative, and somewhat fantastical pick swap's that you've dreamt up after a few warm VB's. Keep up [censored].

Enlighten me which picks where packaged together to acquire Jackson?

The point I am trying to make is that full time paid staff members of professional sporting organisations, with a lifetime of recruiting knowledge and experience, know more than you. Enlightened?

Already too much. I've always admired our aggressiveness but we need to stop trying to get every shiny new toy we see !

I remember the same complaints and threats coming when it became apparent that we were going to draft Jackson a few years ago.

Honestly... honestly, if you cant put your faith in our recruiting team given their sustained success in recent, and not so recent years, then you may as well just give up on football.

  5. One of the most interesting things he had to say was that he was still hoping to improve upon picks 6 and 11. Also the discussion returned to West Coast not having said no to our previous offer for pick one rather they have just not accepted it yet. In Jason Taylor’s mind at least, he has not given up on our ability to improve our draft hand.

Please NO POSTS saying “I heard so and so has COVID”

Unless it is reported in the media or by someone in the media on social media it is not ok to post rumours that you heard from your mum’s cousin’s mate’s aunty.

'cause the media is gospel? Don't you mean until the club makes an offical statement?

I live in Alice. There’s plenty to see and do. You can do a day trip in the west macs in a 2WD easily.  Visit Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge - absolute highlights. In town there’s plenty of places to eat - the Brewery is great with local beers. Page 27 and the Watertank Cafe are quintessential Alice. Hanumans and Tali are great restaurants but not cheap. Also worth going to the transport museum, the old telegraph station, the Alice Springs desert park and the Royal Flying Doctors Museum. Traeger Park is a good ground. It always looks dry but it’s just the couch grass dying off over winter. Cheers

Great round up Phil, all great suggestions (I'm an Alice local as well). Can I also suggest that if you are seeking to purchase Aboriginal art while in Alice that you shop at an ethical gallery such as any of the ones (based in Alice Springs) listed here: https://desart.com.au/member-art-centres/

Also Talapi Gallery in the Todd Mall and Raft Artspace  (8 Hele Cresent) are the two commercial galleries that deal exclusivley with Aboriginal Owned and directed art centres.

Be great to see some Demons crew in town again. Go Dees!

did anyone else have problems with it recognising the discount code we were sent by the club? mine didn't work

Mate I had trouble at first but realised that when I cut and pasted the code there was a space at the end of the code that their website didn’t like.

when you redeem the code just make sure to delete the space at the end of it if it’s there.

    I hope that makes sense.

Appreciate that dazzle. Apologies for the disappointment I’ve caused to any posters. its a strange time of the year

Dr the mistake you made was in interpreting your info, nothing is ever 100% until an official announcement surfaces. Doubling down, day after day, even when there was a rising tide of information contradicting yours was silly. I'm happy for the info, keep posting, chin up and go Dees!

Issac Smith will be a demon in 2021.

I don't know 100% what the delay is about, but the dees do tend to wait for the window to make things public.

I suspect before Sunday Issac will be rolled out in a red and blue polo.

Gee whizz Evil, not doubting you or your intel, but don't you want to perhaps cut yourself some slack in the chance that perhaps he may have changed his mind, or been swayed elsewhere? I admire and respect your willingness to stay the course, but maybe, just maybe things have changed?

  11. Let's get real and breakdown mail from rumours.

    Out's

Preuss - GWS request, Player has requested. It has been suggested that his going price will be a late 30's, early 40's pick

McDonald T - likely staying unless a good deal comes for him, Rumour only

ANB - trade bait but heard nothing specific, Rumour only

Hannan - WB interest, Rumour only

Jetta - coll interest, Rumour only

    In's?

B Brown - apparently we are frontrunners. Some rumours suggesting that Collingwood are very interested and so is he.

I Smith - apparently likely to come. Reported that we have interest but so too do the Cat's.

T Phillips - no link to dees that ive heard. Damien Barrett stated that: 'A left footed wingman. That's what the Demons want, and two have the bait in front of them: Isaac Smith and Tom Phillips.'

    N Hind - rumour. Agreed.

C Hooker - read that he could seek a move possibly to Melbourne. First I've heard of it.

If North are getting rid of Polec because of salary cap issues they are in SERIOUS trouble. I assume their list manager has been sacked by now

From 12 September 2019, our old mate Barry was around the traps at the time!:

The Roos have also said they will part ways with list manager Michael McMahon, and other recruiting staff in Barry Prendergast and Nick Byrne will also depart.

  13. I’m off work at the moment so watched almost the entire AFL Draft telecast via the app. Cal Twomey said that he had asked a number of recruiters who they’d take at three and he said the majority did not hesitate to say Jackson.

I know this fact won’t sway the Demonland experts but seriously cannot wait to giggle at the reaction on here to Jackson’s name being called at Pick 3.
