Both good club servants and I wish them well but let’s Calma a little.

I do this anyway with how much things cost these days. Happy X is cleared of major damage. Few games in you can see he adds a level of composure not within some of our lads.
  3. Think we’re scored 4 goals and 17 conceded so far in the 4th quarters this season. Out of steam or swords down when game’s gone?

I think for the next decade we're going to see a real mix of winners. Not sure how many "repeats" or back to backs we'll get. A very open competition.
  5. Just confirmed, Sesto to emergency.

https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/gws-giants-defender-leek-aleer-unlikely-to-stay-ahead-of-2025-afl-trade-period-c-18101005 Looks like Leek may be squeezed out at GWS, nice age bracket Hopefully we're into him given age of Tmac/May
  8. But you also had that sexy period of Jay-Jay Okocha, Anelka, Ivan Campo, Hierro, Djorkaeff, etc, All protected by one of the most underrated in Jaaskelainen
  9. I honestly don't mind a fun little soccer/football kick about towards the end of training Boosts morale a little cos its fun still work on communication breaks up monotony Players still get dynamic movement through their legs etc I'm sure there'll be enough skill based training/meetings to address issues from the weekend.

You need to consider Goody has had issues before with stress/anxiety in relation to Press conferences previously. I was surprised by what he said, but Max is fine with it, so we just move on and hope the family member's health battle remains positive.
  11. I guess the ideal strategy would be like the below, but a few injuries/suspensions may have changed the plan 1) Casey Game/s 2) Starting Sub 3) 3/4 Game 4) Full game Guess internally they rate a half-fit Spargoat over Laurie
  12. poor form in 2023 but in 2022 and 2021 he was very serviceable. he may have some 'average' attributes overall but I do feel like he is an important cog in the team if he can get back to his best.
  13. Delayed onset of a virus caught from the Cats from the 2021 Preliminary Final
  14. Happy for Spargo to remain in the team, he'll get his legs back this way and his kicking will help us. It is a risky strategy as we saw last week though as the sub/interchange for AFL is a unique beast with only one option etc. I wonder if there was any plan/idea to give him 3/4 of a game and then sub him out but the early Jeffo injury ruined that plan.
  15. Sparrow’s career average for kicking efficiency is 59%, so I’m just saying it’s quite a bit down at present

Was speaking in generalities on modern day football contracts, not saying you said anything sorry. I can't see Goody doing that, but a lot can change in 2 years, even the coach.

Looking at North on the weekend they had Darling and Parker both 32 playing at new clubs etc. Just because they have a contract doesn't mean they'll end their careers here - we'd love it but its no certainty.
  18. Assume these fellas are safe until McVee and the Kolt are back. Made a post in the other thread about the bombing in I know its only round 2, but I'm looking at the Kicking Efficiency % season average so far Viney - 44.8% Petracca - 40% Sparrow - 38.5% All 3 are quite high in the metres gained component - is it just the long bomb or do we have too many butchers?

Agree there have been some questionable decisions but think our depth has improved this season, just have some key absentees through injury and suspension. It's hard to get a well rounded list with depth, look at some of the fellas running around for Carlton this year.

Not a Goody post but the Flagmantle facebook page having a melt about Justin Longmuir and wanting him fired, he's on a unique contract set up isn't he? Who would they go for in the event he's fired?

In 2024 at the end of Round 3 we were sitting ok with 3 wins and 1 Loss. Brisbane were 0-3 at that stage. We finished 14th and they won the flag. We should have won Round 1 - yesterday was insipid, but the knives should stay in the drawer for now
  23. Late in the 3rd we had a chance to make it a 6 point game but fluffed it and they rebounded and scored at the other end, big swing hurt us and then we were slaughtered early in the 4th
  24. If they want Trac forward should we be getting minutes into Langford? How’d he go today?
  25. Will take some attention off how putrid we were
