  1. Terrible umpiring re Draper but maybe karma for three minutes of trying to milk frees. Nicks should be filthy his players didn’t focus on winning rather than umpires. On every metric Bombers should have won in a canter.

    Noah Answerth = [censored].

Yeah the AFL craps on about social issues but wont lay a glove on Answerth. To mock someone the way he did was pathetic. Petty was obviously in a distressed state at the Gabba so to bring it up again is a dog act.

  3. Try to justify it anyway you like but the longer term outlook is dire. Gawn best is behind him and other than Fritsch (Pickett is undisciplined) our forward line is woeful. T Mac and Brown great servants but finished. A club that struck it lucky with a COVID asterisk flag. Feed constant BS to supporters we are on a steady decline with a diminishing list and a stuffed culture.

We were basically denied 3 goals…..

    The Neal Bullen “touched”.

The obvious front on interference on Smith, directly in front of goal, in Q1.

The reversal after Smith’s good mark in front, when Pickett and McGovern jumper pushed each other in the upper chest.

Also, but less definite, late in the last quarter Viney was thrown off the ball during a scrimmage in our goal-square.

Does anyone know what the free was for, against Oliver in Q4, in our forward pocket?(when he was given a millisecond to move back, but penalised 50 metres for not stepping back fast enough.) Compare that to the non-50 metres when he was retarded in the centre after marking in Q4.

It seems we were unlucky repeatedly with 50:50 decisions, so we lost by 2 points and are branded “chokers”, while every Carlton player is a gutsy champion.

The free was against MacDonald not Clarry. Complete BS for to high TMac tried to jump over the guy. The 50 was against Clarry for not moving back the fact it would have been impossible to hear never occurred to the preened 22. We got absolutely screwed on these decisions notwithstanding we shot ourselves in the foot

  5. To say the season is a waste is wrong. JVR alone made it worthwhile. The defensive game plan fails if you don’t covert. Bad kicking can’t be underestimated as a cause of the loss. It hurt but reviewed the last quarter. Two decision were particularly appalling. Sparrow legitimately tackles a guy over boundary and then is attacked. Tries to protect himself and is pinged. Example one of complete lack of game awareness by the umpire. TMac jumps over a player and is pinged by umpire 22 incredible decision. He then yells at Clarry who clearly doesn’t hear him and give 50. Example two there 96000 people screaming and it does not occur to that primped up little xxxx he might not have heard him. Cost us a chance at goal and led to Carltank second last goal.

  6. We aren’t good enough. You can look for excuses but four finals in a row says that. That said two things which just make it worse. Kossie self indulgent rubbish. If you can’t buy into the team so selfish. Umpires and 22 in particular make footy unwatchable. I include the arc in that losing that goal defies any commonsense. The AFL paid commentators just turn a blind eye to it make it even worse

  7. These tribunal appeals are a joke both JVR and Martin got what they deserved. JVR clearly ran past the ball and made a hit and Martin cheap punched a player in the head. Despite this both clubs are considering appeals. If a club appeals and fails they should double the penalty. Embarrassing if Dees appeal this they would be better getting JVR to understand how he has let down his teammates.

  8. Some great analysis in this thread. Maynard was clearly briefed prior to speaking to use the word football act. That was premeditated and no coincidence. This was designed to get in early and set the agenda. Media then piles in with same nonsense. Comments such as we can all agree there was no malice. Can we Maynard the only one who knows that. Players on report should just shut the you know what up. So sorry for Gus and Demons it was a major factor in result. If this had been May against Daicos totally different narrative but hey it only the Dees. Hope they break the player code and call Viney as a witness he first hand could attest to the intent. Loved Goodys words.

  9. The love for Maynard on this site make me puke. He jumped off the ground. Brayshaw had no serious forward momentum and was wide open. Maynard could easily have used his hands to block but turned his shoulder and smashed him in the head. It was at worst intentional at best careless. He then get a chance to plead his case. In the meantime we lose a key player possibly costing us the game. Spare me the bs it a footy incident.
