  1. We have gone backwards so much I cannot believe I watched this trash today! I don't agree with the game plan at all, it is plain shithouse we look so unfit and disinterested! what happened to when we could run and carry and play that exciting brand..!!

Oh and luke tapscott and lynden dunn can kiss my ass!

+1 couldn't agree more. Just add Gilles, Byrnes & Pederson who can also kiss my ass

  2. We have every right to be upset, and should not tolerate the rubbish that was dished up today. It is this attitude the typifies the attitude of the MFC and that is why we are going nowhere. Ask yourself - would Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn or Geelong accept a 13 goals thrashing? No, they would be furious. Telling the supporters to calm down is ridiculous. We have been calm enough for the past 7 years, and the fact that this club stands for nothing infuriates me. Enough already.

  3. Grow a pair of balls and throw big dollars at Paul Roos. Stop [censored] farting around with untried coaches who have no friggin idea.

Get a proven premiership coach and get serious.

We can't afford to continue this downward spiral or we won't survive.

Exactly. Daniher was ok...but what have we learnt from Bailey & Neeld. A good assistant coach does not a Senior Coach make.

    They need a Roos.

  4. Richmond and WC bottomed out when we did and WC are touted as top 4 contenders.

    Richmond are challenging top sides.

North didn't even bottom out and they are going goal for goal with the best side in the comp atm.

We bottomed out better than most and can't even beat the worst side in the league.

And after bottoming out, we look to of even gone backwards.

Snap reaction, perhaps, but what do you expect supporters to say?

Has there been a side in the competition so ordinary, for so long? And I mean ordinary.

Whilst it's true that Richmond and WC bottomed out - we bottomed out post Daniher, "re-built" under Bailey, and have gone back to the drawing board under Neeld. Enough is enough. Today was an embarrassment and the sooner performances like that one stop being tolerated or explained away the better.

  5. It's really hard to know where to begin. I stayed until the bitter end today. To see the players just stand and watch Port run rings around them. It was a disgrace and anyone who say otherwise has rocks in their head. However you choose to spin it, and saying it's only round one just ins't going to cut it for me, the effort today was a disgrace to the jumper and the history of this club. The sooner people on here stop making excuses such as "give Neeld time" or "they're only kids" the better. Port have a bunch of kids playing too. They were playing AWAY from home. AND they smashed us in every area possible. I constantly think at the end of each year why does player A not want to be traded to us or why does Player B want to leave and go somewhere other than here. Today is the exact reason why.

Do the following players add anything to our side: Pederson (what did he do in the NAB cup to cement a round 1 spot?), Gilles (anyone who says he is a replacement for Rivers is absolutely kidding themselves), Rodan (not the worst today, but still) Byrnes (I in all honesty would rather have Davey - and I have been one of Flash's biggest critics). Matt Jones & Toumpas can't really be judged on today, and Viney was our best.

To all those out there shooting down fellow Demonlanders saying that Neeld needs to be given more time. Riddle me this - if the game plan you want to play can't be executed by the players that you have, is it stubbornness or plain stupidity to keep playing that game plan. How can a team go from winning 8 games under Bailey, to four last year and again having a disappointing opening round this year? Where is the improvement. And stop with this "give it time angle". HOW MUCH TIME? There is only so much insipid football that the supporters can take.

As for Watts, I haven't been drawn into debate about the number one pick. All I will say is that until he shows the desire to play the game at the highest level, he can kick the dew of the grass at Casey. I would rather Joel MacDonald in that role (I am aware he can't kick, but at least he contests). Watts was a joke today. Wayne Carey & Schwass where spot on. Melbourne looked unfit, slow, disinterested and more concerned with getting their drink card at Eve after tonight's games than actually playing. Correct me if i'm wrong, but these guys are paid to train almost 11 months a year. The tell me how they can't even run out a half of football, and why their skill set is so appalling. Needless to say, I'm done here. Only so much you can take after 35 years of support, week in, week out. Even the early 80's weren't this bad.

  6. I would think it would look something like this - the minute Hogan comes out of that team the forward line looks so weak on paper (I am clearly aware that Clark isn't playing either, but still)

    FB: Jetta Frawley Garland

    HB: Dunn McDonald Watts

    C: Grimes Jones Blease

    HF: Howe Pederson Sylvia

    FF: Davey Dawes Brynes

    R: Jamar Rodan Viney

    Inter: Toumpas, McKenzie, Kent, Nicholson

  7. There a few things that when I watch just seem laughable, but most frustrating is that players we have drafted that haven't developed in positions they were drafted to play. Now, I can understand that if we already have people playing those positions then the draftees need to adapt but here is what I find ridiculous:

Grimes - drafted to play midfield - we don't have a midfield at the moment, and instead he is playing HBF

Blease - Being trialled as forward - drafted as a HBF

Watts - drafted to be CHF and being used in the middle and behind the ball (I'm not Watts bashing, in fact, I thought he was good today)

Howe - Drafted as a HFF playing in the middle (again not bashing, just frustrated)

Sylvia - years ago, meant to be a gun midfielder and has been played across Half Forward his entire career (clearly not referring to this year as he hasn't played a game)

These are just a few examples...but what I think is letting us down right now is that Neeld's game plan may be defensive etc but we don;t have the skills to pull it off. Very disappointed Dees fan. Surely we can't be going through an entire re-build again??? Can we???

  8. I guess what you need to look at is whether or not you think Morton deserves a game on form, not on his high draft. The most frustrating thing from week to week is playing guys that aren't going to be in a premiership team with Melbourne. For example, Jamie Bennell, Joel MacDonald, Brad Green, Aaron Davey, Matthew Bate and probably (being harsh) Jared Rivers, Lynden Dunn.

Saying that, the match committee is in a hard spot, because as much we all want whole sale changes, they aren't going to drop 6 players. The best we can hope for is

Out - Bennell, MacDonald, Green and maybe Dunn

In - Moloney, Martin, Tapscott/Couch, Morton

And for all those wanting Blease to get a game...must be earned. Not a walk up start.

I just want to know why Morton hasn't developed. Looked to be a gun in his first year, has now gone backwards...hope the same doesn't go for Grimes and Trengove.

  9. I've never done one of these before, so here goes:

    B Bartram Frawley Garland

    HB Tapscott T. McDonald Blease

    C Bail Moloney Jones

    HF Sylvia Watts Howe

    FF Green Clarke Jurrah

    Fol Jamar Grimes Trengove

Int Davey, Martin, Mckenzie Petterd (Sub)

Unlucky - RIvers, Gysberts, Morton, Bate, Nicholson

The only thing I think is missing here is a quality crumber in the forward line (will Davey ever get back to the form and the position that made him so exciting?)

Rivers is the interesting one...I think/hope Tom McDonald will take his spot and make CHB his own, but they could be easily interchanged at this point. As for Sellar, how anyone can suggest a 1st round draft pick who has been delisted after 21 games is a walk up start is beyond me. Reminds me of Paul Johnson mark II.

Anyway, that's my first and only attempt at one of these.
