  1. Personally I watch every melbourne game plus maybe two more a weekend, check afl website once a day and demonland about 3 times a day. What websites do you all go to? How many games do you watch a weekend? What are the ways you follow footy? Purely out of curiosity
  2. So today I was working on my dirt bike and decided to road test it, which is illegal in WA to ride an unlicensed vehicle on the streets. I was riding around the side streets around my house looking for oil leaks, testing the clutch and brakes and then cops pulled me over. They unwound their windows and all 3 of them told me it was a courtable offence what I was doing. Moreover they said this type of offence they cannot issue cautions for. They kept reinforcing that I had to attend a court hearing and all I could reply was acceptance sighs. They preceded to ask my details: Name, d.o.b,, where I lived and where I was from. I told them I moved over from Victoria. They questioned why I moved and I said that I was hiding from my football team. The cops asked what team it was and I replied "Melbourne Demons". They wound up the windows and had a chat amongst themselves laughing in he car. They wound down the windows and said I'd suffered enough pain this year and said that I had to walk the bike back home and let me off with a caution. To all my fellow demonlanders, this is what I call good karma from being a loyal supporter. Thanks for reading my story If you have similar stories of how you've benefitted from being loyal to your team, club, wife I would enjoy reading them. Cheers

  11. Hey guys, Ive just moved to Perth, I sat and watched the collywobbles games in a sports bar with not one other AFL fan in the prescinct. Does anyone know if theres a group of Melbourne supporters here that go and watch the games somewhere on a regular basis? Im sick of walking into pubs and asking if the AFLs on and these imbreds just reply "sorry we dont play GAYFL" Cheers
  12. Good win yesterday against the dockers, now lets look at what challenges that face us for the rest of the season. We have 5.5 wins and 9 games left. Rule of thumb (give or take) you need 11 to make finals. Hence we need 6 out of 9 wins to almost cement our spot in the finals for the first time since 2006. Below is a list of our games and locations. Based on current form, injury list, depth, culture, the tendancies that is the Melbourne football club, what of these games will we win and which will we let slide? I have put my predictions below and reasons Richmond Away G WIN we play tigers twice in 8 weeks .. we will win one of the 2 Doggies Away ES WIN questions will be raised at whether we can play ES, doggies are really out of form BYE Port Home TIO WIN port are useless and soft wont match up well against our midfield Hawks Home G LOSS still too young, inexperienced, but will still give it a solid crack Gellong Away Skilled LOSS see above Carlton Away G LOSS see above although if we had a chance to beat a top 4 side.. it would be carlton but its wishful thinking Eagles Home ES WIN very hopeful, watts to get 3 brownlow votes and syvia will kick 5 march us to the finals Richmond Home G LOSS richmond will repent for losing to us round 14 Port Away AAMI WIN port will come at us hard but we will have too much to play for thats 5 out of the last 9 games i think we'll win .. could scrape a spot in the F-word. MUST beat port twice. MUST play well at ES. MUST beat tigers at least once.
  13. was at the game, great win gonna be a great weekend however.. i walked out of the ground tonight thinking .. whats going to happen queens birthday? Essendon are an out of form rising club, Collingwood will show us where we're really at. Given we field the same team from tonight next week.. what do you think the final result will be? Me thinks a close game
  14. When i left to study in LA in December for a year i had regrets leaving behind a tattering MFC, given the heartbreaking 2007-2009 seasons and the exciting prospect of the future. To listen to the games i have to stream from SEN, to watch the games (3 days delayed) i pay $6 a month on aussie-sport.tv whilst reading demonland every morning. Im sitting at UCLA on the other side of the world yelling at my laptop whilst all the Americans have no idea why, a sport which they dont understand. I decided to post this thread to express that being without my beloved demons through this exciting period temps me to expedia my QANTAS flight home. Pettards dropped mark at the collingwood game, Dunn and Watts missing those goals, Woonas signs to the crowd, Greens dominance, Jonsey stepping up, Maccas leadership, trengrove n scullys debut year, the new training facilities, following Jimmys health, rising stars, debt demolition, Spikes hair .. Every game we win i proudly wear my 2000 signed MFC guernsey by Daniher, Yze, Viney, Farmer, Robbo around LA, autographs that no Lakers supporter understand. im missing out on too much over here, i havnt heard the theme song for 7 months. Ill be back in Oz in Janurary sitting in the MCC never to depart Green and Bails ever again. Every game next year .. Bring on 2011 [censored] fevola, eddie and Reiwoldt CARN THE FUKIN DEES!!!!!!!!
  15. So im sitting here wondering what is the difference between a dream and a reality. So i composed two ladders. One which i would consider a perfect season and a ladder which is alot more realistic for 2010. What are your ideal / predicted ladders? Below is my 2010 Perfect Ideal Heavenly Ladder Melbourne Brisbane (always liked brisbane) Western Bulldogs Port Adelaide Fremantle Richmond North West Coast Carlton (Just missing out on the 8) Sydney Gellong Adelaide Essendon Hawks Collingwood St Kilda Below is my 2010 Predicted Ladder Gellong Westen Bulldogs Collingwood St Kilda Hawks Adelaide Essendon Brisbane Carlton Melbourne Sydney Port West Coast North Fremantle Richmond
  16. Here is a list in order from love to hate of our list, in my own heart the criteria is a mixture of the following : reason why i will go to the footy every week in 2010, potential for the future, gives a great performance week in week out, melbourne spirit, winning nature, a player that i would hate to see in other teams colors ([censored] brock), important for the future, important for the club , building for a premiership. So basically is a list of IMPORTANCE for a flag and general love for the bloke (using our current 2009 list ie not including scully trengrove ball etc) 1. Liam Jurrah - Future of our forward line, exciting prospect, will provide many cheerful moments, will win games off his own boot, club morale lifted by one man, every time he touches the ball it turns to gold 2. Jack Watts - alot riding on his head as a number 1, will be closely watched by football world in 2010, i love the bloke and what hes gone through , good luck VCE 3. Jack Grimes - needs to stay consistently good and aviod a garland like injury clouds.. highly rated by MFC and outside 4. Nathan Jones - our chris judd / gary abblett , love watching him when hes on his game, sometimes looks lost but rarely 5. Aaron Davey - future captain? absolute gun, loves the MFC, signed for 4 years, committed, effective, play maker 6. Colin Sylvia - massive lift this year, very impressed with emotinoal/physical developments 7. Cale Morton - young thin gun, put on some kilos boy 8. Kyle Cheney - reliable backman , admiration 9. Stefan Martin - handy utility, great pack mark, tall , possibly dangerous one day 10. Ricky Pettard - absolute silky with the footy , gives it all and end all, goes about it well 11. James Frawley - Will hopefully develop alongside garland and grimes 12. Colin Garland - Gun defender should be good to go from long term injury 13. Matthew Bate - Reliable set shot/Long range kicker , worried about his hardness at the ball 14. Mark Jamar - Very important he keeps improving on this year to become our #1 senior ruckman, needs to show committment to the MFC 15. Brent Moloney - Leading disposals at MFC this year, needs to have more of an impact , dont want to turn into a dane swan 16. Matty Warnock - Gun defender .. getting old, makes correct decisions 17. Cam Bruce - Loved him every step of the way, now needs to give an example to young kids, teach, advise, mentor 18. Brad Green - see 17 19. Clint Bartram - has a a tough year, has alot to show 20. James McDonald - not a part of long term future , gives everything he has every game , underrated skipper, a pity hes 33 21. Lynden Dunn - inconsistent tagger , has good games, has shockers, still good development, dont know whats wrong? learn from cameron ling 22/23.Jetta and Maric - similar catagory , young kid , alot more to come, tune in soon 24. Simon Buckley - IMO a good player with ALOT of potential, has a crack , deserves my respect and more game time 25. Paul Johnson - has gone backwards , probabily the only player on the list that has, hopefully will lift next year , used to love him in 06 26. Austin Wooneamirri - will never forget his almost 200m goal .. was very exciting last year, been under the radar all year, will he come out with a bang in 2010? 23. Shane Valenti - used to hate him , ever since freo game has shown he can play , getting there , needs a preseason 24. Brad Miller - Teach Jack watts and the boys how to mark like you , dont give them kicking advice 25. Rivers - wouldve liked to seen more of you over the years.. love you in the backline, found it hard to rate him , should be higher in this list 26. Benell - good debut 27. Sam Blease - top 20 pick needs to show something after a year of injury 28. Strauss - see 27 29. Meesen - Should be much better 30. Tom McNamarah - Tries hard, hard effort will pay off , keep working at it kid 31. Adam Spencer - soft kid with minimal ruck impact , however should be given 2 years to develop .. analogus with jamar 32. Hughes - ? 33. Zomer - not a bad debut 34. Mckenzie - ? 35. Rohan Bail - horrible 30 seconds on the ground , now injured, liability? 36. Michael Newton - one mark wonder , do something next year you spud, sat behind him at the footy once wanted to throw my pie on him, you are frustrating 37. Daniel Bell - Prove yourself that your not another godfrey or nicholson or [censored] off I tried to word things as best i could. Basically this is a list of who i like the most and why, to the least. Would like to hear of your opinions on these players, who should rate higher / lower? who deserves more/less respect? i love my MFC and want my opinions to be accurate .. THANKS for reading !
  17. Just read in the Age during lunch break that Luke Ball will most likley come to Melbourne if Stchokers cannot create a deal with Collywobbles. Stchokers say they dont want pick's, only players. My concern is if this deal doesnt happen is whether the mighty Dees should pick up Luke Ball - former captain of st kilda and 1 time all australian and grand final player. We picked up Liam Jurrah last year, so if we take Luke Ball this year, will we be forefitting someother new exciting kid? The way i see it is that around 2/3 of our list are 22 years or under. So by including in the current 1, 2, 11, 18..PDS#1 picks this will continue the youth policy to ensure a very exciting future. Or do we add experience to our side, which is what we currently clearly lack. IMO we should not pick up Ball cause it will be doing what Richshit do is trade all their picks for washed up players instead of home grooming. Im going on an allout youth policy, who cares if we win 5 or 6 games next year (like hawks won the spoon in 04 or 05) when in 4 years we'll be amazing. Thoughts?

  19. gotta weigh up everything here now we get pick 1, 2, 11, 19 .. 4 in the top 20 in the last uncompromised draft .. 66% of our list are 22 or younger .. this is just strategic moving for the future tom skulley is replacing mclean perfectly and to be honest now that monoley and jones as stepped up im happy to trade mclean for a new prospect so they say we lost our future captian.. did he leave because we didnt want to give it to him? will tom sculley now get 5 or 31?
  20. Who is the best demonalnd tipster? go to www.oztips.com make an (free) account competition name : Demonland Tipping Competition competition number : 124232 Password : demon
  21. what would be better of these 2 i) judd does his knee round 1 .. carlton spoon ii) judd averages 35 disposals a game has a great year .. carlton spoon
  22. i still got the 2006 sticker on my wallet.. reminds me of a melbourne side that shouldve gone the whole way .. o well , if anyone finds a 64 sticker , lemme kno
  23. i always thought johnson was crazy , but now i can see his nuts
  24. at least having no players with a high quantity of disposals shows that we dont solely depend on anyone .. look at carlton , theyre putting their whole seasons outcome and thensome on Judd .. if he doesnt get 35 possies a game there will be an extra utencil added in carltons kitchen again this year
  25. this is the same argument as the toughness thread do we play the seniors and risk injuries .. is similar to do we put our bodies on the line and risk injuries theres a few pros and cons to do with these practise matches... yes it gives the kids experience , but we should be playing our seniors , especially against a pissweak richmond so that the kids can get a feel to play with a full strengh side.. if kids are playing with kids, there wont be much expectation, playing seniors will get them to lift their game. In 2018 no one will remember the time melbourne lost to richmond in a practise match by 100 points, but they will remember that in 2008 it was their first premiership in 44 years
