My takeaway from the first half is that we’re in this thanks to some solid effort around the ground, our goal kicking has gone to hell, and we CAN win this. But will we? hint: it’ll take more than points to do it.

Goes without saying that the we can’t give the pies those sorts of chances.

I don’t think we’ve handled being the hunted team very well, as demonstrated by our sorry record against the pies, even in our premiership year. We went into the last few contests as favourites and today we don’t which makes sense. By rights they win today, they’re playing better, are in better form and we have not found our groove yet. BUT Our best can beat them, so am obviously hoping to see that today. Honestly I’ll be ok with a loss and I’ll feel better about the second half of the year as long as the loss is narrow and the boys dig in for FOUR QUARTERS! Would LOVE a win though. Go Dees!!

Now that the dust has settled a bit, it was a very ugly game, but what I loved was McVee, JVR (best game?), Kozzie’s goal, some of our good defensive work and Maxy’s goal at the end.

I’ll start with the 4 points. Great. But was that the worst game that has ever been played?? We need to do something pretty drastic very quickly. Very worried for next week. How far are we from 2021??

Summary so far: both teams bad but we’re lucky they’ve been worse. What is up with our kicking? How many times have we kicked it straight to them? That’s not even counting the kicks to dodgy contests. So bad. Win or lose we need to be A LOT better against the Pies.
