  1. In your opinion. I'm not saying you are right or wrong. Can I suggest we might need to wait until this whole saga plays itself thru - maybe that might take 3-5 years? In theory if we say traded him for pick 57 and got another Jayden Hunt - would you change you opinion? or we traded him for pick 1 and got another Josh Fraser Either way dont we have to wait till everything washes its self thru?
  2. or maybe he is in a rut - and doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result is not working for him or the club. Maybe, he just needs somebody who is prepared to break the cycle, give him honest upfront feedback show some leadership and be prepared to make the hard decisions. Goody has played the game, he is a smart operator - he has a game plan and everybody needs to work their butts off both on & off the field to achieve the ultimate success. Just a thought.
  3. However, it always does this time of the year. Every club in Victoria will have a crack at him, we will have our say. Then if he stays or goes the MFC will move forward and get prepared to play round 1 2018.
  4. Yeah its bull-[censored] - our current position would be Lever for 10 + 2108 2nd Round. However, if Adelaide want everything pushed into this year - which is not clear yet. The most likely candidate is Freo - we are a fair way down the track to securing balich. So in theory Melbourne get - 5 + 40 + balich Freo get - 10 & 27 + kent Gives us the opportunity to on trade 5 & 40 ( possible 45 instead of 40) for Lever & maybe ( 35 ???)
  5. Exactly, we have a game plan that demands intensity around the football - our game plan demands a level of fitness or you will get injured and useless to everyone. Jack has a role to play, he is a role model for our younger players. However, I will say it again ... I'm a huge Jack Watts fan and he is 90% gone.
  6. Stick it up'em boys. Off to the draft he goes if they dont deal - now thats commitment I like to see.
  7. This could be a very good outcome for us in more ways than 1 - regarding securing Lever at the right price.
  8. Could not agree with you more Sue. However, that is a reflection on many in here and nothing to do with the MFC and Jack Watts.
  9. Not really, surprising, it actually why you trade - trading is a part of professional sport. Look at the last 5 premiers Tigers, Hawks, Sydney, Geelong & Dogs all prolific traders - sometime a player might not suit your model but fits perfectly into another teams model.
  10. We are pouring the acid on them and they dont like it - moan, groan, whinge and whine. Wednesday or Thursday of week 2 is still my prediction.
  11. More rubbish. Sorry, but you are clueless.
  12. No. Its all on a very professional level. Its all about fitting into the game plan.
  13. Long way off. Simon is a straight shooter, he has a game plan. No Absolute rubbish
  14. Please dont take this the wrong way, but that is a terrible post. Dont think you and many others understand what is happening here.
  15. Wait a second. Here at Demonland - He is damned by some if he does talk damned by some if he doesn't talk. This is more a reflection on Demonland than on Simon. Head Coaches are very, very important around trade period - they set the agenda.
  16. You are over valuing on-field activities and not placing enough emphasis on the off-field strategic outmaneuvers. This premiership was born in the depths of the Port Adelaide football club many. many years ago - on those cold Winter nights. Do some research what you will find will help you unlock the formula. Then when you add Neil Balme into the equation you have the final piece in the puzzle who understands - you trade your way to a premiership not draft your way - you require the precise development staff.
  17. He will be fine a "grand sale" where PC has the situation under control - we are moving a step closer, its going to be tough to land him.
  18. That is not the case you are way too much black or white - this scenario still has some grey in it. Its only 90/10
  19. Your opinion is not accurate there. Contracts are a two way street, unless the deal is reasonable he wont be leaving he is contracted. Simon just stated the obvious and what some of us have known for quite a long time - Jack has the support of the club to consider all options.
  20. He is not gone yet - its only 90% at this stage, no reasonable trade has been put forward. Its wait and watch this space.
  21. I would also be asking the coaching staff are they prepared to back themselves. I would be asking if our administration team is prepared to offer the support structures some players need. This is so Dusty Martin vs Scully/Trengove all over again. We all know what happened there Dusty wins a Brownlow and leads his team into a grand-final but no alter boy.
  22. Absolutely, Dogs have stuffed this whole Stringer saga terribly. He is no alter boy but worth the risk - if we dont land him as I said earlier wish the boy luck he is an amazing football talent that can be obtained for a relatively reasonable price.
  23. Think talks are progressing nicely, our two main targets were landed long ago. However, cant help but get the feeling we are pushing hard for a FA or gorilla minder to complete our backline. As I said weeks ago Watts is 90% gone we just have to get the right deal to make it happen. Stringer not off the cards but think he is looking elsewhere for the right club that can offer him support off the ground.
  24. Sadly most of our supporters are stuck in the 60's today its a whole new ball game both on and off the field.
