  1. Hoskin-Elliot anyone? Had a good couple of year early on from memory.
  2. Hard to see the Hawks bottoming out even with four or so players coming to the end. Free agency and the fact that players from other clubs want to join them bloody sucks. Hate those Hawks.
  3. Fair call, Hunts a jet but we could do with another quick.
  4. Gold Coast have a heap of picks in the top 30 and may end up with some more via Prestia and O'Merea trades. Wouldnt mind betting they'll be shopping for players.
  5. Hanley wouldn't be a bad pick up considering we need a bit of pace off half back.
  6. Wright for Brayshaw yep. No thanks for Riewoldt.
  7. Can't see how a trade could be orgestrated for Martin. As for Deludio the Tigers list is in terrible shape so they'll be looking at picks and are in a position to pay a good portion of his salary.
  8. Wouldn't be surprised if the Casey scorpions become the Casey Demons down the track. Hawks are still affiliated with Box Hill and the Hawks are doing alright. From memory the cost to run a stand alone VFL team was about 500K per year. Also didn't the Dee's sign a 20 year deal or something of that nature with Casey.
  9. Unless Tigers perhaps pay part of Deludios contract. Same goes for Brisbane with Rockliff. Interesting that it's been reported that the dogs will pay Clokes entire contract next year without the Pies having to chip in. As a result you will see the Pies accepting a say pick 50 or so when they could have got more if they'd agreed to keep part of Clokes salary on their books
  10. Tigers will find it tough to move Deludio on due to the contract value his on next year.
  11. Just on Richmond it's getting more and more likely that Deludio will be shopped around. The same as Dustin Martin. My man tells me that they're both likely to stay at the Tigers however. But also tells me anything can happen in trade week.
  12. Do we really need a player like Mitchell? I know he's a quality player but we have a few similar types already.
  13. Agree with your statement about the Hawks getting a deal done. O'Merea - GCS have publicly stated that they want a deal similar to what GWS got for Treloar. Mitchell - Swans will be asking for a fair bit too. Hawks Should get a decent pick for Hill. Maybe the compensation pick they will get for Mayne if its second round. Swans might have a look at Shoenmakers.
  14. This is why clubs like us continue to struggle. Mitchell or another quality player might want sign with say a Hawthorn and take 600K. For Melbourne to entice the same player we would potentially have to offer 20% more and a longer contract term. Not saying that this is always going to be the case but historically it has.
  15. Bit of reverse psychology going on here me thinks.
  16. Trade period starts in two weeks from Monday. With this in mind if Jesse or his management were to make announcement about him wanting a trade it would have to be in the next 10 days or so I'd imagine. Otherwise he will be wearing the red and blue next year.
  17. As a club we need to play hard ball. The reality is however players who want to go home tend to always get their wish. Agree that two top eight picks will not compensate us considering what we gave up for Jesse, the work we have put into him and the potential he has. Fyfe or Neal might be a deal that compensates us. Having said that these guys are contracted, Neal has just signed a long term deal and Fyfe is a WA boy. These blokes will have to agree to a trade. I know Jesse is contracted as well however the club has to weigh up potentially trading him now or next year if he wants to go. We might be able to suck more out of a trade this year. Further to that I too am sick of waiting and waiting for our young players to develop. The club can only sell this hope for so long before supporters start to get shitty. It's already been 10 years since we've made finals.
  18. I'm just loving the Essendon supporters who are now saying top four finish next year and a flag within three years. Quite funny really.
  19. For some bewildering reason every time Tom Lynch is mentioned the name Lucas Cook pups up in my mind. Becoming rather annoying.
  20. Me thinks Freo will not budge on Fyfe or Neal for that matter so it would be off to the draft we go once again.
  21. Would say we are far from a feeder club. Reality is if Jesse decides to go we've lost three players in a short period of time. It can be argued that we were perhaps over compensated for Frawley but that was because we were crap at the time.
  22. The challenge then is to pry a Neal or Fyfe out of Freo. Not sure there is anyone else on their list we'd particularly want. Can see where your coming from...
  23. I agree. Developing 18 year olds takes a few years and if Jesse decides to go this year then that's three young players we've lost in a matter of seven or so years. Well Frawley was 25 or so. But continuing to replace these players with 18 year olds requires more time and patience. It's not ideal. Feels like we take two steps forward and one step back. Becomes a point where the club can only sell the story of where the youngest side in the comp for so long.
  24. Not sure how we would get more in way of picks. Freo have already traded away this years second round. Might have to be a player.
  25. Guess one of the reasons why there are rumblings now is Freo currently have pick 3. Agree with you Saber. Pick 3 and Freos 2017 first rounder which would be about say 5 to 8 perhaps. Obviously Freo will need to trade back into first round.
