He's played 1 good game this year, followed up by a terrible game. Given he's 28 and out of contract means he has to make every post a winner and he was really terrible yesterday. I'd prefer Preuss because we need to see what he can do, and I'd be leaving Weid in because he got a longer career with us.

    Fair view mate.

Would you agree though that we couldn't have Weids, T-Mac and preuss in the same forward line though?

I actually would have both Smith and Weid coming out. Agree Smith hasn't been bad as such, just think we need to get back to 2 talls rather than 3 to try and lift the ground ball rate and open up the 50 a bit. For mine, I think TMac is more mobile than Smith so it makes more sense that he would balance out Preuss.

Interesting take, I respectfully disagree. However I completely get what your saying. I'm happy for them to keep tinkering with the forward line until they find something that works. interested to see what they do. Preuss might even have to come in for Gawn depending on his ankle.

  3. Are people forgetting what Tim Smith has done in his last couple of games?

He should've kicked 5 against Freo on Luke Ryan (poor kicking cost him)

Admittedly he wasn't very good on the weekend but I'd be keeping him in. We can't have T-Mac, Weids and Preuss in the same team I don't think.

  4. Lever will come in for Petty, I like Petty, beaten by a better player yesterday and like most of our defence needs to clean up his kicking. However I think we've got a good player for the future.

I'd also bring in JKH for either Hannan or Baker.

The only other player I'd consider bringing in is Jordan Lewis. Just not sure where I'd play him.

Everything I've heard was that Jeff was very keen on Kobe being at the Dees eventually, so I'm not giving up hope just yet!

I'm the same, Wiz said on I think it was DeeBrief that his choice was Melbourne for Kobe in terms of Father son!

    8. Why did we sign up an injury prone, slow, hard at it player, whose main talent is tackling, for 3 years, but ship out another injury prone player who was a fast, hard, goal kicker and great user going inside 50 (Kent, that is) because he wanted 3 years?

To me, the second player has all the attributes our list is clearly lacking more than the first.

Surely you don't think he's slow?

Kent also said he wanted more midfield time, something we couldn't offer him and something he hasnt ended up getting at St Kilda, maybe he has a [censored] tank?

You couldn't see how important Vanders was last season?

I am not a massive fan of Aaron Vandenberg as a player, but I can certainly accept that some of our best football in 2018 was played when he was in the side late in the season.

By the end of this season AVB will have played just 7 out of 69 AFL games across three seasons, an appalling return for a player who will be 28 before next season starts.

Give that, I am surprised at the radio silence surrounding his continued absence and ongoing injury issues. I would like to know:

    1. Is AVB's current injury related to overuse or to a single, unavoidable event? Did we push him too hard to return in 2018, or again through the 2019 preseason?

    2. Given AVB's injury history and Sydney's reported interest last year, on what basis did we offer him a three year contract? Was this in any way conditional on his continued fitness?

    3. Did giving AVB a long term contract, presumably on decent money, affect our ability to retain either Tyson or Kent?

    4. When did it become apparent that AVB would take little or no part in this season, as the initial reports were that he would return sooner rather than later (ie within weeks, not months)? Why have members not been kept better informed on his progress.

    5. Has there been any progress made since round 1? Will AVB be able to do a full pre season, or are we still completely in the dark as to what the problem is?

    6. Is AVB still in Melbourne doing rehab, or is he off working in his family business?

    7. At what point do we consider paying out AVB's contract and freeing up a list position if he can't get back on the training track?

AVB is an extremely important player for us. Their was evidence of that when he played in our side last year.

Hopefully our new fitness guy can get him right, because I'm not sure if Mission can.

    I reckon he'd be on 300 - 350k a year.

Kent wanted to leave so doubt it had anything to do with that.

A bit of mystery his absence from the Casey team again. OMac is in a few of the photos from Wednesday’s training gallery taking on his brother. Possibility he hurt himself that day but why the silence.

He's not listed as injured though? Hopefully he's feeling alright up stairs?

I’m a big fan of Kielty

He is a natural footballer and team player

    Does what the coach asks

Had they not decided to turn him into a forward and part time ruckman

I believe he would have taken Oscars position this season and done a much better job

I Agree mate, watched him play a few games down back before he got drafted and looked much more suited to that role.

Have been really please with the resurgence of Jayden Hunt. Quality player.

Can't go past Petracca for most disappointing. No.2 draft pick in his fourth season averaging just 16 touches and barely a goal a game.

Can see where your coming from in regards to Trac, However I think we need to lower our expectations of him.

Having a knee reco at a young age wouldn't of helped his development and unfortunately we've now discovered he doesn't have the tank to play in the middle. This will effect his disposal numbers. He hasn't been his best this year no doubt, but he's doing some really key things in our forward line which stacks up well against the comp.

    - Leading the comp for ground ball gets inside fwd 50, something we really lack from other players.

    - 6th in the comp for goal assists.

    - 14th for tackles inside fwd 50 (highest demon)

Hopefully he can clean up his goal kicking and have a big second half of year.

I just don't get this, they must be throwing some seerrrrious cash at him. I mean, it's Richmond... Richmond.

Garbage list, coach will be gone in 8 months, upheaval at board and management level.

He was closer to a flag on the Gold Coast.

Isn't his family really close to the MFC as well?

    Just don't get the appeal.

I'm not sure of the appeal either, maybe the coin? He wanted to come play in his home state Richmond offered him the cash so he's taken it. From what I know his parents are the caterers for the club and also life long supporters. However do we have enough cap space? Probably not and also we don't have a first round pick in this years draft to offer like Richmond do.

  12. I also think he would be a good addition to our coaching list. I have mates who play at Adelaide they didn't rate him very highly as a coach, hence why he probably got the sack in the end. However I saw him interviewed not long after the sacking and he openly admitted that he had " a lot of areas that he needed to improve on" in terms of his coaching. After that interview I thought he would definitely coach again! Hopefully he's improved some areas and can help our young list. If he gets the job!

    Who're our likely departures?

Dawes, Grimes, Michie, Newton, King, White?

Do we think some players are playing for there careers in the VFL Finals??? In saying that I think Michie & White are 100% gone. Terlich also. It really depends who Goodwin likes oppose to who Roos likes. I just wonder when they will announce weather it be in the coming weeks or after VFL finals???

  14. I think Lennon still needs game time before we can truly value his worth, has shown us that he has talent however there has to be a reason other then injury that has prevented him from more game time in the last two seasons. I'd rather see us persist with Garlett, Kennedy, Kent, Harmes, JKH, Vanders and Petrecca. If we were to get a high Half Forward or a Small Forward I'd rather see us go for someone with a lot more pace.
