  1. It's a fair question SWYL, as we know he had some discomfort before the series and we are led to believe, by one poster in particular, that if there is even a slight niggle then they end up in the rehab group at training. It seems like a strange turn of events. We're in this position now though, so hopefully 6-8 means 6-8 in this case.
  2. Really tough call but, for mine, it's T Mac. As Paul says above I think we can cover for Viney a little easier. The one-two punch of Hogan and McDonald had the potential to be a match winner, and while I have faith in Pedersen to fill the gaps, it still feels a step down regardless.
  3. They've had a few retirements out from the side as well, though. Lonergan and Mackie, two very important cogs in their side for over a decade, are gone. This means their backline looks a little thin (especially with Henderson missing as well) and you would be right to question how they will kick a winning score. Without Danger, Ablett may have to spend more time in the guts than resting forward. Having said all that, we would be silly to take this side lightly and I'm not expecting us too. They'll be tough to beat.
  4. Can someone tell me who to barrack for? I don't know what to do - I hate them both!
  5. Very well said LT. The show of faith these young guys have in the future of our club can't be understated. For someone like Oliver to sign within a two week process is just brilliant, and not only shows how much Oliver loves the club, but how well we are looking after these players. No putting off talks, no 'waiting to see' sort of stuff. Just getting it done! Love it!
  6. I'm with the few others in terms of our IC - it should be Brayshaw, Tyson, Melksham and Hannan. I can't see us playing Frost, while the other three (Bugg, Maynard, Wagner) are handy to have on the fringes of selection. Their side doesn't scare me, although we obviously can't allow their midfield to dominate. Break even with their mids and we win this game of footy.
  7. My source was myself. I'll give myself a jolly good flogging, BBO style, later on for it.
  8. It's all a bit of fun, mate. I thought it was hilarious.
  9. Terrible news for all involved. You never like to see anyone get injured, let alone two very important players to your side. They will be missed. However, one word jumps out to amongst all this - depth. We have the best depth we've had in a decade and we have the players to step in and fill the holes left by these two without missing too many beats. Obviously they won't be on the same level as T Mac and Viney, but we aren't bringing in kids are VFL level players anymore. We know Pedo can fill gaps better than Selley's can, while someone like Maynard (even though I doubt he plays) has shown he is capable of putting in a good stint in the midfield. I'd be looking for guys like ANB and Harmes to get extended minutes in the middle as well. I hope both Viney and T Mac are back sooner rather than later, but this isn't season ending by an stretch.
  10. I'm equal parts pumped and nervous for this game. Even with T Mac and Viney on the sidelines I still think we should win this game of footy. We have terrific depth in our side now and players ready to step up to the plate and cover these losses without missing a beat. On the flip side, the Cats aren't to be taken lightly and there's a reason why they've been so good for so long. They aren't the side they were a few years back but, even without Dangerfield, there is quality across the board in their line up. I think it will be an even game early but we can pull away a bit in the third term before we hold on in the fourth.
  11. It won't be anything like the noise we'll make when Trac kicks the sealer early in the first quarter.
  12. No, you don't. You think you do, but you don't. Also, @Grapeviney's post was quite funny. Why you can't see the humour in it is anybodies guess. Edit - also, the Tom McDonald injury is further proof that you have no idea what you're talking about. You've waffled on all summer that if they get any sort of niggle, they go into the rehab group. T Mac had a problem with his toe prior to the JLT, he didn't go into rehab and made it worse. Why wasn't he put in rehab like everyone else if he had a niggle?
  13. I reckon it's fantastic. It's always good to change it up a little and the artist has done a ripping job!
  14. I agree. The update was totally unnecessary. At no point have I heard it live and gone 'gee, that could use an update!'
  15. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-03-21/its-still-a-grand-old-flag The club has decided to retain the original version of the song for the 2018 season. Good, sensible move by the club!
  16. In all seriousness, I think they have just been overly cautious with it after what happened at the end of last season. We can manage without him for a few weeks.
  17. Is it worse than we think? Short answer: No. Long answer: Noooooooooooooooo. They are just being cautious after they (Viney, coaching staff, medical staff) rushed him back too soon. No need to put his season in jeopardy by doing it again. An almost certain starter for Casey this weekend.
  18. Pedersen is in the best nick of his career. Not sure how you've come to this conclusion after he rucked entire games for us when Gawn went down.
  19. He has a really good mix of the attributes you want in a player - he clearly works hard and puts in on the training track, and he has the swagger and confidence to go with it that screams 'I'm better than you, and if you give me a moment, I'll show you why'. I hope we go with Gawn, Oliver, Petracca and Jones in the guts on Sunday. We can smash those buggers into the turf from the moment the ball is bounced.
  20. I won't believe it until he's announced to play 90 minutes before the game when the final team list is in. For the record, they're crazy to play him, especially with Ablett going in with no match practice as well. I actually think it works in our favour to have them playing blokes who aren't 100%.
  21. I reckon: Oliver and Ablett will both play. Tom Mac and Danger will both miss. They will come up with sensationalist headlines until the teams are announced to get a few clicks, but I can't see Geelong being dumb enough to risk Dangerfield for just one match.
  22. Looks like 7UP has not signed up at this point so 12 teams it is.
  23. 1.4 million dollar profit, Zurich comes on board closely followed by Infiniti. PJ and co. have done it again and the future for the club couldn't look brighter!
  24. Oliver and Petracca have signed 10 year extensions?
