I though Salem was solid last night, given how much time he's had out of the game. I really appreciated that ability his decision making and ability to hit a target coming out of the back line.

Has anyone seen Kossie tonight, virtually unsighted from my perspective.

Skills are disappointing under pressure. It's been an issue for weeks but now we are up against better opposition it's hurting us.

Great quarter Dee's, no [censored]' mercy!!

Bloody hell Swannies, get going will ya's!! -
I'm trying to work out whether our backline jitters are due to less midfield pressure or they're just not functioning that well. Opposition sides seem to be getting more uncontested marks in the F50 with run through the midfield. Also, May and Lever do a whole lot of great stuff every game but they both seem to be fumbling more this season.

Yep, I think they have learnt from last year's fadeout.
-
Agree, Turner isn't ready. He did a few good things tonight but struggled in the body work.

Bank the 4 points and look to next week. I'd love to say we won't play so poorly again, but we will given that it's already happened a few times this season.

They always seem to have more run in their legs in the last quarter. Same as last year.

Annoying being a game behind top spot still.

Another team a game clear of Freo 🥳 -
So it comes down to faster ball movement through the corridor and hopefully that results in a less congested forward line. As much as I hate to say it, the Pies ball movement and kicking game is the best in the comp. They hit up small forwards in one out situations pretty regularly. I'd love to see us do that more often.

I had the feeling all game, that if we could get some momentum we would run over the top of the Tigers. My brother follows the tigers and he was resigned to the fact that this very young side would get steamrolled in the second half. I don't think this happened and thought we were only a few accurate shots on goal from being beaten. I really thought that our experienced talls would be a major point of difference. I think Ryan and Young were trying to hold down key positions and play ruck so we had a clear advantage. This just didn't seem to translate into midfield dominance. Others have suggested that Grundy turned the tide, but I think his radar was off in terms of his rucking duties, often delivering it straight to the Tigers advantage. This was a major complaint of the few Collingwood supporters that I talk to about footy. Understand this is a pretty negative post after a win, but the Tigers lack depth and along with several injuries. We really should have been more dominant, given our experience and the quality of our playing group. We are a long way off our best imv. Fortunately we are playing lesser quality opposition over the next few weeks, I just hope we don't take them too lightly as there may be a few surprises in store.

Lucky the tigers cant kick straight.

Annoying how the Tigers just walked it out of the middle after JVR's goal. Story of the game in a nutshell.
-
JVR really is a beautiful kick of the footy.
-
Yeah, playing Hollywood footy atm.
-
Hands straight in May's back.
-
Grundy had no idea the ball was coming to him then, no awareness at all.
-
No moves from Goody at all. May looks miles off atm.

Oh my god, worst tap in history by Grundy on that last centre bounce.
