  1. Hasn't shown enough for me but the club obviously thinks he's worth it. And I'm starting to realise they get a lot more right than me and then some. Congratulations BL.
  2. Expecting a big game from him in his 200 th. Hot of the heels of Tracca playing a ripper. Which was hot of the heels of Clarry playing his best. Not worried about Ports midfield. They should be sweating about ours.
  3. There are some tough blokes about. I had only bruised ribs once and every time I coughed or laughed I was in agony. Could hardy to put on a shirt. Can't imagine playing a game of AFL footy.
  4. May has been in stellar form too. Yes we have good depth. But losing May with Lever is a very big blow. These two that have played so many games together would have a significant symbiotic relationship. That said I've been impressed with Tmacs form and I thought Petty was moving quite well. So it's not complete panic stations. The timing isn't great with the two consecutive SA games. It just had to be us to score a SA team in gather round or whatever it's called. It is in essence another interstate match for us. I wonder if this was a concession for finally getting a reprieve from playing at Kardinia. Anyway, I hope the two of them are back asap. Like it hasn't been bad enough that our fwd line has been devastated by injuries. Maybe Tommo will get the nod. Most of us agree he played well in last game. As much as we will probably need Petty in defence, I love seeing him play fwd.
  5. I do think he had a fairly quiet year last year ( by his standards) but It's fair to say he wasn't alone He is well and truly back on track with his tackling, running and pressure acts. I reckon he has been a substantial underrated player in the AFL. He's a constant lock in a premier and twice top four team. And for good reason. Not many work harder than him. Ive noticed he seems to have gotten stronger lately. Many moons ago he was a fairly unreliable shot at goal but in the last few years has become very effective in this department. I also love his passion for the club which he wears on his sleeve. His pressure acts are huge and while he doesn't often rack up huge disposal numbers, he is still more often than not a big impact player. Looks bound to have a great year.
  6. Watched the replay and one thing that stood out to me is how Kozzie quickly closes in to tackle someone. He could be 20 m away and a player may think he has eons to move but suddenly he's all over them. Love it
  7. Probably includes a trip to the Barossa between games. Good luck to them.
  8. I thought Tmac was pretty good in both games. Are we agreed upon this? Certainly seems to be much quicker than his recent fwd sojourns. And more confident. Of we can get back to close to what a defender he used to be and have Petty play fwd often then our seasons looking very good. The one thing I like about Petty forward is his follow up ground work and pressure.
  9. During our darker years a mate of mine...a Dee's fanatic would often bet against us to take the sting out of our losses. He called it insurance money. Sadly he did quite well.
  10. Credit to Goody for getting Tmac , Bbb and Petty up and about. Petty will go back and help Tmac. I imagine Tommo will get another game either as sub or to allow Petty to swing fwd. In any case we have done well. There is a lot of luck on footy. And we haven't had a great deal of it. May has been in great form and a huge loss. Imagine if Tmac and Petty were still injured. What with smith and Gus we have a lot of players out. I thought Tmac was quite good again and Petty was moving better than expected.
  11. I thought the Hawks targeting of Oliver was unsporting. But it was funny they gave him all their focus while Tracca had a day out.
  12. Can you do a Kozzie, licenced to thrill please?
  13. I think with Gus retired, they realise the whole Maynard thing was a debacle.
  14. Was one of my favourite players at MFC. And yea just because he's doing well at Gws doesn't necessarily mean he be crushing it if still with us. I hope he goes close to winning the Coleman. (Go Fritta).
  15. Cheers Jaded. Yea same here with Jesse. He had some rough things go on and he'd finally found some great form at Gws. He's a genuine good bloke of AFL. I still smile at his run up.
  16. This was an interesting poll for me. I thought it was obviously a no brainier but I'll have a crack. No surprise on the team but.... SPOIL ALERT I thought 52% for Pies was low. Also nobody really likes Essendon but I don't think they would come in second.
  17. Talk about backline injuries. Last year our fwd line was decimated. Now we have four quality defenders possibly injured in Disco, Bowey, May and Lever.
  18. Gotta stop watching Gws games and lamenting the loss of Hogan and Bedford.
  19. Great response from all the team when Tracca ran all the way back to play defender and spoil a certain Hawks goal. You would have thought from the response he kicked the sealer. Wonderful spirit de corps. ( If that's spelled right,). It bodes well for us and we are obviously hungry. Ps Goody got it right again.
  20. Love to see Fritta get a clear and unencumbered run this year with no injuries. Presently second on the Coleman medal on 9. Only one behind Hogan. If we manage 3 goals a game from him it will go along way to helping us to top four again.
  21. Dons are a dirty side too. Hawks. Pies. Always were always will be.
  22. Yep...Night and day. Against the dogs, Bbb was hardly on fire but he got the ball to ground. Kozzie is in great knick this year and looks lethal when goes near the ball.
  23. You are the Rudyard Kipling of Afl sports writing George. Thanks.
