  1. 16.13 - 2.3 our last 3 Third quarters
  2. This is a ridiculous overgeneralization. I'd say society as a whole in the present climate cannot stand to wait and want everything immediately. A player who is 19 and in his 6th game is judged on an even harsher scale than someone with 150 games experience, apparently because with expectations on the youth of the team they should be the best afield. However, this is a society that has not been presented by us "Gen Y er's," we are living in a world created by others. If "Gen Y er's" are in such great need for "instant gratification" it is because that is the world that has been created by "baby boomers" and "Gen X er's" who clearly were pretty happy to receieve "instant gratification." There are plenty of "Gen Y er's" who are patient on this website, I'd have a good look at some of the posters who are wishing to swing the axe and think how old they might be. The "process" the MFC are undertaking at the moment will be hard for all supporters, but it's rubbish to claim that it'll be harder for us because we're somehow inferior to previous generations. MFC went a generation without success and as such our supporter base is low, what does that tell you about the youth of that generation? It sounds more like you want to have a go at your "Gen Y er" son than anything else.
  3. I'm not having a go at the system, but it'd be interesting to have a discussion about what the leaderboard actually achieves/reveals (not that I'm saying we shouldn't have one). Seeing Robbo's name above Grimes' is a disgrace.

In total this season we have lost by 384 points. We have lost 3rd quarters by 196, which is more than half of the total points of our losses. This needs to be improved!!!!!
  5. I was bloody furious that shot wasn't shepherded through. However, on reflection I was just so happy with how Jurrah went back and took the shot. First game, marks on 50, happy to have a shot from 52-53 and didn't even seem like he got all of it. Don't think I've been this excited after a debut since Davey burst onto the scene.
  6. Boring. I thought I saw a few signs last night that Watts is beginning to feel more at ease in the game. Not all were "positive" in terms of direct action, but signified Watts getting involved in the game for longer. His frees against Monfries and Fletcher I thought were a little crude, but at least showed he was willing to start finding his way into the contest. The holding the ball in the (2nd?) quarter showed how he is still adjusting to the game of AFL footy, it seemed as though he was playing the way he always has as you can probably get away with that in junior/VFL footy. It's for this reason I think he needs to play a few more games this season at least. He shouldn't be dropped if he looks like he "hasn't found his place," he should be exposed as much as possible. The two goals he kicked were very good kicks. He's 18 and in year 12 people.
  7. Was very impressive, though don't mention him on Monfries - it was against him who he didn't touch Mcveigh's shot for goal when it should've been pretty easy. But all in all, a very solid game from someone who seems to be learning every position on the ground. Natural athlete for sure.
  8. Best player on our list, IMO best onfield leader on our list - has had my vote for Skipper for over a year now
  9. Pretty sure he said yet, but nonetheless it was dissapointing. FFS if we wanted a player who would be showing mature signs by now we'd have gone for cousins or traded the pick. Short-sighted, negative and narrow minded comment I felt.
  10. 11. Heard Matthews say - I can't see any reason that Watts went number 1 yet. Whilst I appreciate what he meant, I found it a useless comment.
  12. Dermot would prefer if we shirtfronted their whole team after the match.
  13. 6 Green 5 Davey 4 Moloney 3 Martin 2 PJ 1 Frawley
  14. Green - Best MFC player Morton - was he there? Jurrah - calm and skillful Robbo - needs to go Mclean - generally getting better Sylvia - got into it Martin - learning and solid Jetta - speculative at best Rivers - starting to worry Davey - was pretty good Umpires - what the hell
  15. Great debut, great start. So much excitement and class. Seems almost the complete package
  16. Short sleeve and kicked a goal, thanks Liam!
  17. As it was about to come up I said 46,000. Damnit, should've posted that!
  18. Junior, you can't do the multi mate. I like to dabble, but don't know much about rules. (i.e. why some bets can be multied and some can't, and why you can only call to do live betting)
  19. Mind you, I'd take 2 elite mids rather than 1 elite mid and 1 KPF forward that we picked because we felt we needed one.
  20. Didn't the Connolly/Prendergast/Harrington/Bailey interview reveal we want an elite mid and a KPF
  21. He did say that he was talking dollars
  22. Haha good man! Love the excitement at the moment, it's why we love footy. It's like pre-Watts' debut how we were all going mental. People would counter it by saying, don't put too much expectation on him - he'll probably start slowly. I feel that to be off topic, if we don't get excited at times like this, then what's the point in following footy. We all wish Liam the best of luck as he joins the illustrous club that is the Melbourne Demons.
  23. Watts to atone. Mind you, he only has about 12 years to atone for what wasn't too bad a match in a game we were smashed in. More reason to be excited for tonight though
