  1. "I'm sure there are a number of things that don't make sense to you, I am not inclined to explain all of them." That in my view is a cagey comment, each to their own. I have looked for the information I have asked for but have not been able to find it, hence I'm asking the question. I assumed you, who obviously have great knowledge of the situation (especially as this era seems to be the only topic on these boards that prompts you to post), would be able to offer me some insight. This article refers to some of where my concern rises, and I assume for a few other supporters, as to how our debt got so far out of hand that it was even unknown to the club.
  2. Cagey aren't we? In 2004 were we, as members, informed that our debt was $7m?
  3. Will we ever find out how we went from making "small profits" to being $5m in debt? Still doesn't make sense to me.
  4. They're not countless, you just don't know how to count them. And I've decided to swing back to Nash and Rp's side and will follow my own advice to ignore TOX.
  5. Mr Magic seemed like a very intelligent sort, hopefully he's still around. Maybe we should PM him to ask if he'd put his opinion into this thread? Don't think we've heard from him about it for a while
  6. Another reason for this to be skewed is that Ball himself is already a number two draft pick.
  7. Debt demolition raised about $825,000 didn't it?
  8. I see what you're saying Nasher, but surely we should've traded pick 2 for pick 7...
  9. I've been wondering that about Sydney too BBP, if we're prepared to take him against his wishes I'd reckon the Swans would be straight onto it.
  10. And after Collingwood decided to lie down in the last 8 games of '05?
  11. If you read it, I wasn't making a point, I was suggesting a way to determine whether one would want him at 18 or not.
  12. I know next to nothing about the hopefuly draftees and have never claimed to, as such I will not participate in this type of activity.
  13. A good way to do it would be for posters in the know to post their top 20-25 kids in the draft and from there decide if more than 17 of them would be better than Ball
  14. You're like fine wine, you just get better with age. 5 of the top 6 premiership winning teams have done it this decade.
  15. Nathan Brown gave Mclean the nickname because he decided every footy club needs a 'chook' so that's what he labelled Brock. In memory of dogga, we need a new 'chook'
  16. Very true. Half of the people voting so far think we could win 5 of our last 8, hopefully we are in good condition.
  17. Someone needs to get "chook" in memory of Nathan Brown.
  18. Food is for the weak and I require redemption, perhaps I'll argue my way out (why not?) As we're all aware of, Harrington is not going to show all our cards and even though our focus will be on players outside the AFL system, should those players have demanded our focus not be available when it's our turn to select, perhaps we would consider shifting our focus... I doubt we're crossing players off as I believe the club is fairly keen on selecting the best available.
  19. As always a lot depends on injuries/form/momentum - but I could see us having a big finish to the year.
  20. Carlton did not play in a grand final this decade - only the second time this has happened since 1900
  21. Almost 1/3 of us think we'll beat the Hawks in round one - interesting. I see them rising again next year
