  1. Just to settle this, you are indeed correct BBP. The Pies have not only won all 3 of the Round 2 meetings since 1980- they've won them by 53, 107 and 94 points.
  2. They had Sylvia and Maric in. Edit: And my new position on the Footy Show is that I have absolutely no idea (!) how they make their team and I will assume they know what they're talking about with a disclaimer that it could be way off B) . Though this should really only happen three times a year (Round 1, Easter and QB)
  3. That is insanity! Bruce, Mcdonald and Miller equate to around 550 of ours wouldn't they?
  4. I don't think so, because he was already on his original contract.
  5. I wouldn't go that far. Last week they put Spencer and Mckenzie in - before they were promoted. I seriously doubt they just made that up. But yes, I refer to my posts last week where I originally said they seemed made up.
  6. (I take back my take back of disregarding early released teams on the footy show). My God, we're going to lose by over 12 goals
  7. Well it was round one, so I'm not sure how to answer that. But they picked Mckenzie and Spencer.
  8. After last week's effort from the Footy Show (picking the promoted players before they were actually promoted) I don't think like this.
  9. Great work there guys, makes for interesting reading and is a good way to look at it. Love to see Geelong's. I'd have quite a few of our players moved to the right (unfortunately) on most of them.
  10. The Footy Show had Sylvia, Bartram and Maric coming in. I don't think we can carry Spencer, Bartram maybe in for Dunn but I'm not sure that achieves much. Maric possibly in for Bennell? Not too sure all 3 of those will make the final 22.
  11. To what end though? Get him in to have a lazy chat with a few kids? There's also a certain Melbourne man who is our Number One ticket holder at present. Think he played in a final or two. I think we, as supporters, forget that these players know each other and a lot of the "majesty" goes away when you're inside the industry (like with the whol Chris Judd story).
  12. You could also ask why Collingwood signed Buckley only to not even bother playing him round 1?
  13. The Brad Green "didn't go in" tag has pretty much been dispelled by every knowledgeable poster on here. Morton was "very outside in his first couple of seasons"...has played two seasons. How am I feeding my own frenzy? What frenzy? Point me to another post of mine where it seems I'm in a frenzy? My post was made on a concern that crept up on me last season and caught my attention after Round 1 where Bailey himself has said that we need to lay more tackles that stick and go in harder - as a team, not as a bunch of individuals.
  14. We can't afford to carry Spencer IMO.
  15. As with every week, teams are released on Thursday. No outs yet.
  16. Sylvia listed as an in on the Footy Show along with Maric and Bartram on an extended bench.
  17. Yep. We looked pretty good in the first quarter before falling away pretty rapidly.
  18. Correct me if I am wrong, but we budgeted for 31,000 members. We will get that. Far out, a few people here need to take a few days off from footy.
  19. In one thread you claim you wanted to give him until Round 12 this year before addressing where he stands. In this one, you claim you're giving him this week as a 'last chance' to show that he can coach. You admit that we're still a work in progress yet seem to refuse to give it time.
  20. This is last year's membership thread for people to refer to. On this date last year our membership tally was 27,128.
  21. Preeeeety sure that game was called off at the last minute.
  22. One thing that has slowly gotten to me about the way we play has come out in the articles in these articles. When talking about Green's 200th, Bailey spoke about the need to compete, chase and lay tackles that stick. What gets me is that these are the basic elements of the game that most people who play footy are aware of from a young age. It gets me that these simple concepts are not on show two years after Bailey started at the club.
  23. Apparently they believed it was a genuine attempt to mark. I can't agree, I certainly never tried to take a chest mark by turning my body and dropping my shoulder. Clear-cut charge to me.
