  1. If it was Dayne Beams' website...
  2. It's even worse than that... 2 balls between them!
  3. I am a bit surprised to see Ah Chee. I've seen a (tiny) bit of him and thought he looked pretty good, and he was all the rage last year. Can anyone shed any light?
  4. Did you read the first line of his post?
  5. The posts above indicate that you believe that last summer's selections were wrong (as evidenced across multiple threads/forums), I asked you to select the 11 that you wanted - you then backtrack to talk about the last 4 years.
  6. WYL - for old times sake, could you list the starting 11 you would've liked to see for the Pakistan/Windies tour last year.
  7. I think the only thing that was missing was Beamer himself.
  8. I'd like to give it a go if possible...
  9. It's inside the players' changerooms at AAMI park too.
  10. I heard he got so far it started going backwards
  11. Ok, this thread has well and truly run its race.
  12. Membership numbers are massive for clubs, however. They would much prefer people to buy memberships than make the same profit from merchandise sales.
  13. Haddin gone. Fantastic innings by the 'keeper. May have set up the series. Great knock - 136 and a partnership of 307. Meanwhile, South Australia are back to their usual ways. Bowled out for 55 with Faulkner taking 5-5
  14. I do not understand this part of your post. It seems like you've flipped the two around. As far as I'm aware, our top membership packages only offer you access to purchase a ticket for the GF. The MCC membership gets you in automatically, guaranteeing finals and GF. To say that the MFC membership is far superior in value is ridiculous. MCC membership gives you access to over 40 matches at the MCG each year - including blockbusters such as ANZAC day. It gives you priority (and cheap) access to other sporting events - including Socceroos matches. It also provides access to all 5 days of the Boxing Day test (which would cost you over $200 to sit in the cheap seats). This is cetainly not the case amongst the MCC members I know and is largely irrelevant to the argument anyway. I think I've illustrated that this isn't so.
  15. Your post illustrates that you have minimal understanding of how the MCC works - or why people take it up each year.
  16. Many of us MCC members may not feel we get much from the MFC membership. There may be no benefit for the individual (other than the pride of being a member of the mighty MFC), but there is certainly benefit from the club's point of view.
  17. I think what 2for1 is getting at is probably at the heart of why this is ever debated. Some believe MCC members should buy MFC memberships regardless, some MCC members don't see the point. I'm a student who is also a member of the future fund, have also donated money etc. and buy at least one club jumper a year (I'm a sucker) on top of the membership. I view my membership as a donation, but one I get the least satisfaction out of. Obviously for those who aren't MCC members, the MFC membership gets them into games. Aside from games at the Dome, I've never had to use my MFC membership. I think that memberships are important from outside perspective and possibly chances at sponsorship, hence why I buy a membership. But, in terms of helping the club financially, I'd much rather buy a jumper each yeah than a membership if the club benefited equally from it.
  18. I couldn't believe what I read in the paper on Tuesday in regards to Clarke talking about how he would play regardless. Never got to post it here, but I found it to be very self indulgent and not team-focussed at all.
  19. And we have about 160,000 "supporters" who are not MCC members and not MFC members. We could use 190,000 members...
  20. Nicknames come about best by those who actually know the person. Seldom are decent nicknames (that stick) thought up by those who do not know an individual, in this case supporters.
  21. What I never understand is why this conversation so often starts (and ends) with MCC members who are not MFC members. There is a much higher percentage of MFC supporting MCC members that buy memberships than non-MCC MFC supporters (based on those figures that are bandied about every now and then).
  22. What a shocking shot from Clarke. The selectors deserve credit for going with Siddle, I believe some of that credit diminshes because of the selection of North.
