  1. Great foresight then to have Scott in there as the role of the "coach" and to leave Ablett out of the video.
  2. Not to mention the general atrociousness of the video!
  3. Was about to post the same thing. It baffles the mind.
  4. We haven't won a game in the opening two rounds since 2005. Indeed, we've only won 1 Round One match since 2003 (bit of a toungue twister). That was also in my comments.
  5. I'm quite sure this is the sticking with those who are disagreeing with you. In one breath you say that we need to win 13 matches (i.e. it's all about w/l) whilst in the next you say that you cannot solely look at the w/l but you need to look at the context. What other posters (and myself) are saying is that it's better to create a range of K.P.I.'s that you'll be looking for from the outset that you can rate the team on aside from wins and losses. You've stated that we need to win 13, but if we win 10 and lose 3 by a point you'll be happy with it? That defeats the purpose of naming an amount of wins you expect and is not something the FD would be using to assess (and grow) the team. There will be a range of inidicators that the club would be looking to build on, succeeding in those indicators will likely lead to wins but, overall more importantly, it will lead to improvement. The problem with naming wins came out this year a few times. Pre-season, that vast majority of us saw us winning 7-8 matches. Yet along the way when we suffered our 13 losses, which those same posters had already illustrated that they expected, people would whinge and moan and lose sight of the team's improvement overall. Round 1 is an example. It was a horrid display - yet those of us that had decided to rate the team on improvement and measures outside of wins and losses understood that the season is 22 games long and there are many twists and turns. Those waiting for the 7-8 wins saw them as being a long way away. Of course, by round 19 when we had 8 1/2 wins, were those posters happy that we lost the last 3 because we had reached their stated aim?
  6. Some things I'd like to see. (If they don't, I'll just rip up my membership/thing bought from the MFC shop and never go to another game - no big deal). Finish top 8 - obviously. Win 44+ quarters - Bails has always been interested in this stat and, like wins, we've improved each year. Interestingly, however, this year we won 36 whilst in 2009 we won 32 and split one. It surprised me because we won 4 and a half games more but only 4 more quarters. I'd like to see us stay competitive for longer in more matches and convert periods of dominance (either over an opposition's forwardline or midfield). Have a percentage over 100 - We haven't done this for 5 seasons, it's about time we score more overall than our opposition. Win QB - Duh. People have to realise that - with the loss of Bruce, Miller and Mcdonald - we'll essentially have less experience than the team of 2010. We will still go missing for periods of time, perhaps even weeks, but I hope to see the youngsters minimse this - that will be a great sign for me. Jack Watts continue to improve, better use his attributes and show a bit more intensity/urgency at the contest. Jamie Bennell to stop doing his disappearing act. Grimes to move into the middle and join Gys, Scully, Trengove, Moloney, Jones, Davey, Morton etc. and see improvement in each.
  7. WATCH THEM GROW What an article!
  8. Your post was far too confusing. On that most recent relevant topic - I'd probably put a young player on him who needs to see, first hand, how hard you need to run for four quarters at AFL level - maybe a Bennell?
  9. Yep. That's the only difference between Norm Smith and Cameron Bruce. B)
  10. Derailing multiple threads with sniping and off-topic conversation (slanging matches) is getting really tiresome.
  11. Reminds me of West Coast's leaked tactics from a few years ago.
  12. Given that we knocked back two top ten picks to get him, selected him with pick 2 and he's showing that he's well worth it - I'd say astronomical compensation.
  13. Please explain how we were close to winning 13 this year.
  14. Khawaja made 121 off 105 in a one dayer tonight.
  15. Poor speculation if you ask me. He's at a team certainly going places, looks good and the only reason he was 'starved of opportunity' was pretty much because of injury. He has deficiences he needs to work on, which I'm sure he understands, why wouldn't he want to do that at a club that he's already played 50 games at in 3 years.
  16. Alex Keath could be one hell of a player - he's already a great talent. In his first first-class match innings (against an International side)he's fall just shot of a half century. Collingwood now has 3/8.
  17. Disagree. I can't see him getting a game. I agree that I think Bate may cop it for some reason.
  18. In his first game for the year at that.
  19. My daddy doesn't love me!
  20. White out for 23. Here is D Hussey's chance. Good to see Keath get a run.
  21. It's even worse that in our spoon year we paid 100%. I think it also underlines that there are dealings outside of the cap *shock horror!!*
