2019 Fixture
That's too early for the bye. Scheduling Melb-Rich on the Thurs-Fri nights rather than the Saturday would have made good sense though.
-
2019 Fixture
Two games in Qld for Qld fans. Happy days. And I reckon I'll be having an Easter holiday in Melb next year. Saints game on the Sat and then only four days til the Anzac Eve game.

2019 Fixture
Maybe its done Rd 3 vs Bombers re: Daniher link

2019 Fixture
Suggest we wait for the full fixture to come out before complaining about individual games. Context can be everything. But yeah, will not be happy at all if Essendon are gifted an awesome draw based on potential and hype rather than performance.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
That pick swap...something afoot you reckon? Got a feeling we're not done.

Done. May and KK for 6

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I reckon its between 19 or 23 now

Its going to be 6 and 23 from Freo. 19 to be used in the Lobb deal.

Freo giving up pick 6 for 11, 23 and 30 from Port looks completely pointless now. Amateurs.

I very much agree... @SammyHeraldSun 3m If legitimate, that is disgraceful from @freodockers They woo Jesse Hogan for the best part of four years and then when he finally puts his neck on the line to join them they drop him like a cold pie? Shocking.

Idiots. Obviously content to be mired in mediocrity for many years to come. Myself, very content for us to move on and for Jesse to help us win a flag in 2019.

I agree with the bit about club fans over/undervaluing certain players. But Lobb hasn't done an awful lot. Shown some glimpses, especially with contested marking, but had a very average 2018. He's probably similar to Hibbo then (shown glimpses but no standout) and we gave up pick 29 for him.

Agreed. Lobb is worth pick 23.

Bloody Fremantle... "DAYNE Beams will play at Brisbane next year, according to the club. The Lions today rubbished a potential trade of Beams to Collingwood. It is understood speculation can be traced back to Fremantle, which is in trade talks with the Lions over ball magnet Lachie Neale." https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/trade-daily-live-rolling-trade-news-from-around-australia-for-thursday-october-11-2018/live-coverage/2becfdb638de0350c2beca79da8cc92c#51073

Geez, this race for top draft picks between Port and Adelaide would almost be popcorn worthy if it didn't have such an impact on our plans...

This is probably the most crucial trade period Freo has had in years with the potential to recast their team and actually have a forward line for once if they can secure Hogan and Lobb. Instead, they have a CEO doing the List Manager job and a Footy Manager whose only been in the job for a week. Nuts.

Reckon 23 is for Lobb. That's fair and GWS under big salary cap cloud so I don't think they'd be playing hardball.

Port might get 7 from the Doggies for Wingard. Reckon they would then go hard at GC to swap 6, 7 and 10 for 2 and 3 to ensure they get those SA kids.

Think we also need to consider the relationship between May and GC right now. Yes, they may get better compensation next year but they may also want to say goodbye this year as he hasn't treated them particularly well with no decision yet on whether he's staying or going. At least I'm hoping that might be the case.

Wonder if we could ask the question of Aaron Hall. I know he's linked to North but May/Hall would tick off on two of our requirements - a big body defender and an outside runner.

Yeah Bris would require something else from the Pies. Maybe a player like Josh Thomas who is a Qlder. But GC could go for May/KK for pick 5. They told KK to look at his options and I get the sense they have no real love for May anymore with the way he's dragged this out. Maybe 5 and a third rounder would ensure it gets done.

Finals Tickets
Hi all. This is me and my son. We filmed his reaction as we thought he'd be pretty happy with the tickets and we'd share it with my Dad and sisters who are also keen Dees fans. We did not expect the level of emotion he ended up showing and my sister shared it with the club who of course posted it. Can I just say the club have been absolutely amazing through this and as a result we're flying down from Brisbane a couple of days earlier and Sam will be spending Thursday with the team and meeting all the players and coaches. It's really demonstrated to us why we love this club and why we support it. I've also been told that Goody has showed the video to the playing group to demonstrate what finals means to all the members, supporters and fans. As we all know, its been a hard slog supporting this club for so long but I am convinced there's a very bright future ahead, both on and off the field. Can't wait for Friday night then. Go Dees!

11 Down, 11 To Go
Nice analysis. I did a ladder predictor last week and conservatively had us going 7-5 over the last 12 weeks due to the travel and strength of opponents over the run home. We're flying at the moment but there will be an inevitable fall off due to injuries or fatigue and the fact we are still quite young compared to the rest of the league. That would mean us finishing 14-8 and in the 4-6th range which I would still be very happy with as a launch pad into the finals.
