All good, self-inflicted. Slowly coming to terms with my dreams of playing for MFC now being almost completely out of reach. Bb aka Fan? He's one of the types I think tired of the discussion on here once we showed some promise. A lot of people who I know that support the club are borderline unbearable to speak to when things are bad, but the conversation is a lot more tolerable when we've shown something.

I think the fact he slowed up, had a time away, came back briefly and liked some posts, then slipped away again... Would indicate this is of his own will, not imposed upon him by health issues or such. In fact, I'm bailed up in hospital at the moment, which is the only reason I've had so much time to post lately. I think if it were illness he be more likely to show up.

You've paid way too much attention over the years Nasher! & you have a good memory. Early on I was a pest because I was a pest, but I matured & learned to behave yet still got banned too often without justification. That really only served to increase the pest factor in return, because what's the point of behaving if Rhino will ban you anyway just for expressing your opinion that differs from his? I also enjoy having conceptual & philosophical arguments, which seemed to just get certain backs up. Maybe a bit revisionist on my behalf, but what else would you expect? Cest la vie.

Mods like Rhino & Fan made it necessary to change accounts if you wanted to stay on the forum & they disagreed with your opinion, as they would readily hand out bans with no justification & played favourites. Being younger, a rebellious student and having philosophical differences didn't help, but it became a game. I used to have an alternative account set up to go when the inevitable ban came, just to rub it in their faces. Too many random characters to remember though. I did feel genuinely sorry for the reasonable mods, but obviously not that sorry.

It's not that they're bad players and wouldn't contribute, but to have a pacy player like Isaac Smith or Polec there would be more damaging for us. I think Salem already provides what Hartlett would.

I think it's not so much leadership that he would provide (we actually have young leadership in spades), but he would provide experience. Which is also an important ingredient.

Kinda agree actually. If we're winning, I'm satisfied for a while just basking in that. If it's immediately after a loss, I stay away. If we're middling or it's been a while since a decisive result, it's like I'm searching for answers and I'm somehow going to find them on 'land.

Yes, I have missed rpfc. I wondered if, like happens to me sometimes, a modicum of success makes watching the footy alone enough for me. I'm drawn here more when we're not traveling quite so well.

I agree, but I think it is the PTSD spoken about in terms of the players being conditioned to playing a non-attacking, fear-stricken style of football. They had it drilled into them for years. I'd dearly love to see Garland do better, and thought I would. His malaise in particular has really surprised me.
