  1. Don't even go there Mate. Your seeming obsession with putting others down to make yourself seem oh so righteous is legendary around here. The thing is, Jack doesn't give a Rats Toss what people like you or your like minded sheep say or think. No matter how you try to justify your slander, it doesn't give you the right to abuse Jack, or any other player. Even though you will probably scream "but I pay my Membership"! Who cares!

What a load of crap. We have every right to speak about the way Jack plays his football, whether that be good or bad.
  2. Yes but not to cop this crap. He is one of the most respectable human beings we have. Do we hav to insult and abuse him just because he's not an animal that meets the expectations of the lunatic fringe?

We/I are not insulting him as a human being!!! Please remember that this is not a personal attack on Jack in that way. It is what he does in regards to his football and whether or not he can help our football club be successful.
  3. well he was a very goode player but human i say...wasnt above the occasional dog act to tell the truth.

No one will want to to hear that and besmirch a demi-goode eh.

He on his day was a very goode ..no a very very goode player but lets not get carried away.

Apparently we are not allowed to criticise him in this thread, I would not be suprised to see your post deleted by WJ because of the section I have highlighted from your post...
  4. Apologies if this has already be done to death. But I thought I'd set out the team we currently have for next year now that players have been delisted.

I guess for most of you this will be a bit obvious but doing this for my own benefit to wrap my head around the players we have and where we need more depth/talent to continue to improve. I understand more players will go and be traded etc. But this is IMO our most competitive side of current players. I would like players like Garland, Lumbumba, Pederson to be pushed out by younger guys throughout the season. Let me know who I have left out

    B Frost Dunn (V) Garland

    (22) (28) (27)

    HB Salem T. McDonald Jetta

    (20) (23) (25)

    C Tyson Viney Brayshaw

    (22) (22) (19)

    HF Pettracca Pederson AVB ®

    (19) (28) (23)

    F Kent Hogan Garlett

    (21) (20) (26)

    Fol Gawn Vince N. Jones:

    (23) (29) (27)

Int Watts Harmes ® Howe Stretch

    (24) (19) (25) (19)

    Depth:

    Backline: Lumumba (28) Grimes (25) Terlich (25) O. Mcdonald (19) White (19) ®

    Midfield/wing: Michie (23) M. Jones (27) Trengove (24) ANB (19)

    Forward: Dawes (27) JKH (20) Newton (23) Hunt (20)

    Ruck: Spencer (25) King (20) ®

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So its clear that the team needs some depth at each position

    - Regardless of whether Howe and Garland are leaving we do need another backman. Need another steady player to go alongside Frost, White and O'mac while they develop.

    - Obviously we need another ball winning midfielder to add to our depth. I think with the boost of Petracca and development of Brayshaw, ANB and AVB the midfield will be better but we need some more steady players to back them up. Would be good to have another younger player pushing the midfield. I would like to see Jones and Vince take on different roles next year where they carry less burden and are able to move away from their tags. Another player to keep knocking on the door with Michie would be terrific.

    - As stated by others a marking forward who could go into the Ruck in a pinch. I think Pederson could fill this void until we find someone. But a younger tall would be great.

Now who could fill these gaps?

Swap Lumumba for Garland, swap Trengove(fit) for Watts, find replacements for Stretch and Harmes who aren't up to it ATM, trade Howe
  5. As long as he plays we will look like a 'soft' club to others...that's not my opinion but the opinion from other supporters from different clubs....we should try to off load him to send a message to the AFL community...

The only reason he is still on our list is because we used our number 1 draft pick to get him.

  6. Dude seriously.. none of what you want is gonna happen.. that bit is called reality. Theres no speculation at all. Dangerfield is a cat, Treloar is a pie / tiger.. Dont know how much clear you want us to paint the picture.

. Fact: Dangerfield is a crow, Treloar is giant.....that is reality!

  7. Why anyone would go to Essendon at the moment is beyond me. A shell of a club.

But it is a place full of opportunity , for anyone who wants to step up and take it! Followed by a group of very passionate supporters!
  8. I don't expect us to land one of the top players, although it would be nice if we at least tried. I just don't want us trading for players who are kind of ok if you tilt your head and squint a little. A marginal improvement on our current fringe players is all we'd get out of Melksham. As they said this morning on the Sunday Footy Show, he's your fifth or sixth midfielder. He's just not that valuable.

Most teams take about 12 midfielders into any game, so if Melksham is your 5th or 6th midfielder, then he makes our team easily.

I believe if we can get him cheap, late second rounder or third rounder, as they said in the Sunday footy show, then he is worth it.

I think he is a big improvement on our current fringe players if we can get him for not much cost.

They also talked about Jack Watts, and mentioned that he doesn't really have any value on the market, straight swap for Melksham?

  9. His position on this is so ridiculous that there isn't any going back so he has to stick to things like "Watts for Melksham". It's silly, I know.

How is my position so ridiculous.....I have mentioned that he is rated by certain Essendon supporters I know.

I have agreed with STMJ who suggests if we can get him with a third rounder or for little cost that he would be a good depth player, who may need a change of clubs to get the best out of himself.

I don't rate Jack Watts as a player and I don't think other clubs will take Watts because he lacks the football fundamentals, he doesn't compete hard enough. His value is a third rounder or Jake Melksham....

It's my opinion...you don't know how Melksham will go for us if we draft him, but If he does succeed I will be one to remind you of all the negative crap you have spoken about him, grow up or fcuk off.

  10. The Hogan hype alone will get us very close to 40k.. if we churn out some early wins and play an exciting brand we will break 45k

Just signed up a mates 1 yr old and put Hogan on his card, not that he will remember...but Hogan winning the RS should pull in a few extra members hopefully.
  11. I wouldn't. We should be aiming higher. Melksham is the bag of peanuts that we should be avoiding. Get proper (read elite) compensation for Watts, otherwise he stays. The same goes for Howe really.

No offence to Watts because I think he has been good for our club in a few ways, but try selling a player who has played almost every game for the year and only managed 18th in the B&F, straight swap for Melksham is a huge win for us, again, I think Howe has the most value on the market, but whoever takes him has not drafted a match winner, Howe can be handy and I will be sad to see him go, but he is never going to be that player for us, which is not to say his best football isn't ahead of him (at another club)...
