She seemed pretty chuffed to be standing in the race clapping the players off on Saturday night. She was essentially appointed/elected(?) on a platform of delivering the home base - goodness knows what the status of that is currently. Caulfield racecourse seems dead in the water.
  2. I went to both the GWS game and last night, and I sat by myself like a legend. It was quite peaceful being able to spread out, no queues for anything. It’s a form of therapy for me. I live close by and will do what I can to get my membership fee's worth for the year. But I’m the sort that will go to the opening of an envelope if it’s held at the MCG. Looking back on the opening handful of home games this year I had a solid crew of a dozen-ish family and friends that I knew would be at each game and meet up with - and for the last month it’s now reduced to just me - read into that what you will! But there can be no doubt that MFC supporters in large part have voted with their feet.
  3. I was there tonight, sat in the MCC, and thought it had a real finals-like atmosphere. Sheffield Shield finals.
  4. You’re bang on re the floating fixture. IMO the way it has been run this year is a joke, and the fact we still don’t know the scheduling for Rd 24 is frankly farcical. Heaven forbid your team is on the cusp of Top 8/4 and you were trying to organise travel. The AFL needs to read the room on this - the vast majority of supports live in the real world of travelling some distances to games, planning work shifts, child minding and other commitments.

Aussies with 3 x gold medal points

It’s a third set tie-break in the tennis gold medal match - tension for something I actually care about

He’s signed to the end of 2026. We can’t afford to pay him out.
  9. And one heck of a pre-season
  10. Goodwin clutching at straws. Third quarter with the season on the line - right on schedule.
  11. Classic Goodwin. Try to cobble together some left field strategy with the season on the line. Did the same thing last year putting Petty forward in the dying quarter.
  12. Yep agreed. Any money it won’t eventuate though.

It’s true that Carlton are off a five day break, albeit back-to-back at Marvel. While Port are off a six day break with an interstate trip - toss of the coin for mine. It shouldn’t take anything away from Port. And it shows impact of a few keys outs for Carlton and their system. It’s also amazing how much the Port nuffies were off Hinkley only a month ago!!

I couldn’t GAF frankly. All clubs make their own beds, and they need to lie in them.

That’s elite game awareness to not take the advantage
  16. Clarry looks well off it
  17. Yes, I can absolutely relate to this as well. Watching Trac on 360 tonight and from similar experiences I bet he’s not sleeping particularly well, is mentally and physically drained with a lot of alone time to dwell on things. I really do hope that the MFC now has good and proper support for him as best they can - because the impression I got from 360 was that perhaps this was a bit lacking or misdirected in the early days. I’ve also heard murmurs of discontent within the Petracca camp but who really knows with these things - I’ve got faith that any issues will pass with time.
  18. Stay down there TMac FFS
  19. Petty doesn’t want to be there

Credit where it’s due to North. If they bring that style next week they’ll be half a chance.
  21. Throw back to the days of old when you could properly spread out!
  22. Agreed. I’m not saying he should have had input, I’m thinking that he must’ve pushed to return otherwise no right thinking medico should’ve ok’d it.
  23. Failures of process across the board I’d suggest. Thank goodness he didn’t get another hit.
  24. Hindsight is great, but incredibly reckless to put him back on.
  25. Going to be very interesting to see whose call it was. Surely Trac would have had input in the decision. Felt like a classic Goodwin all or nothing call to put him back on. Wonder how his family are feeling about it too.
