  1. You do realise there's a difference between "90% have him gone" and "90% want him gone" ? Why am I doing this ?
  2. 1. Club has run out of patience. After 9 years and 150 games there should be games he dominates. He has cameos but NEVER "dominates" games. 2. Yes, Jack was surprised, which is telling in itself. 3. Connors mentioned his elite pressure stats. I don't care what the stats say. I've watched Watts for years and his pressure is anything but elite.
  3. I listened to the entire SEN interview that these articles are based on and Connors comments were directed at the Dogs. He never "blasted" Melbourne whatsoever. You'll note that the article linked below is also a take from that SEN interview and correctly the author refers to comments displeasure at the Dogs and NOT Melbourne. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-10-10/stringer-camp-slams-dogs-over-total-backflip
  4. It's patent nonsense Connors has "blasted" the club. I look forward to your quotes. It surprises me that so many older Demon posters, who've been starved of success want to keep this leg weight.
  5. It has become obvious that Goodwin and the FD don't want him back. I think we'll get around 30 for him, but importantly they want him out the door. Poignantly, Viney didn't refer to him in his speech and Viney trained with Lever over the weekend. The bulk of the players respect Goody and want to be a part of what he's building. Jack was a leg weight.
  6. I admire your energy, because you obviously understand what you're engaging. I have to be careful how I phrase things these days.
  7. So Josh Manohey has no idea ?
  8. OK. Thanks. I dismiss your concerns.
  9. So you're saying players need to be delisted at their exit interview also ? So Keefe from Collingwood and Mullett/Wagner/Gibson from North, who've been delisted today, must be filthy with their clubs because they weren't told at their exit interviews ? I'm not sure why he wasn't told at his exit interview, but I do know he was given plenty of notice prior to trade week starting. Mountain/molehill.
  10. I keep seeing the "Messiah" line being trotted out and there's no doubt that were very high expectations of a no. 1 pick (why wouldn't there be ?), but can anyone tell me the last year anyone still held those expectations ? They're so long ago those early expectations are irrelevant.
  11. He's very good with the footy in his hands, which is about 2% in a 120 minute game of footy or 4% for the Dees. Since Jack entered the AFL 72 teams have played finals and every single one of them managed to do that without his lovely kicking skills. We'll be fine without him.
  12. The speeches were telling. Viney mentioned Oliver was the hardest trainer at the club and lo and behold he wins the B&F. Lewis spoke of begrudgingly doing "extras" as he was thanking some of the coaching staff. Does anyone here thinks Watts trains hard or does all he can to be the best he can be ? But still the fawning and excuses will continue.
  13. Surprised by Lewis. Hibberd missed 4 games and Jetta none, so on average votes per game he would have come 4th.
  14. I've seen a reasonable amount of preseason training over the years and without question Gillies had a calamitous 3 minute period that is the worst I've seen. Dropped marks, shanked kicks, falling over, it was genuine laugh out loud stuff. If he's not the worst player I've seen in red & blue he's on the podium.
  15. Where Watts was drafted 9 years ago has zero influence on his current market value. Zero.
  16. No big deal, but it was reported on the radio today that he's been arrested and will face the Magistrates Court later today.
  17. When the Dockers Footy Manager (Lloyd) was interviewed (on departure) and asked about Balic he confirmed he wants to return to Melbourne, but we haven't caught up with the MFC, so we'll do that tomorrow. I know it's been referenced, but It's now clear Balic has chosen Melbourne.
  18. Perhaps paradoxically, I agree with you. I'm supporting the club in the decision, because they're in a far better place to know why they're doing what they're doing than me, but I'm content either way, i.e. whether he stays, or goes. But he only has himself to blame...
  19. What "criticism" are you referring to ?
  20. Most posters who support the club's decision are considered in their approach. Denham has said on SEN this morning that the LG approached Watts over his standards. This is significant. Supporters can't accurately judge these things from afar.
  21. Supporters are not privy to players preparation, training standards or application. Do you know the extras that players do out of hours ? Clubs do.
  22. Lever's best footy is 4 years away, but principally his courage in the air and aggression in the contest. Lever is a competitive animal. In many ways he's the antithesis of a young Jack Watts.
