  1. At least it's now the big toe and his original injuries aren't causing him pain. It does sound like he's a couple of months away. As for Satyricon ? (...edit..) Funnier still, some posters ask him questions as though he's the font of all knowledge when it comes to selection and training standards. The year Viney won his B&F he didn't have him in his best 22 when it had been plain to anyone who'd seen a few training sessions how well he was going. Lots of nuffies on here.
  2. Milestone matches mean Jack.
  3. Sam Edmund‏Verified account @SammyHeraldSun FollowFollow @SammyHeraldSun More Tom McDonald (toe) definitely won't play against the Cats on Sunday & will spend another 10 days "off legs". Jack Viney (toe) has again been delayed. No VFL this week and unlikely next week. AFL Round 4 now sounds optimistic. Otherwise healthy list, but they're 2 important parts
  4. We do. The first injury was plantar fasciitis and the second injury stemmed from the first. The second injury was a stress fracture in his third metatarsal. I agree that we're not privy to any recent sore spots.
  5. If we're to believe Viney, his plantar fascia is fine, as is his third metatarsal. The issue is seemingly other occasional sore spots in his foot due to changed motions caused by the first two injuries. If he has continuous pain free periods he'll get closer to playing, but if other areas of his foot are feeling pain he'll have to desist conventional park training. None of us here are any the wiser. But calls for him to miss half the season, or more, from supporters who have no relevant information regarding his injury seem senseless to me.
  6. You're embarrassing yourself. For his size his speed and agility is exceptional. What do you watch ? Dangerfield is the fastest player in the AFL. He makes Hunt look slow. Hunt can't match Jordan Murdoch and Dangerfield makes Murdoch look pedestrian in half-time GF sprints. Judd's speed was also elite. Martin's speed was one of his elite traits in his draft year. He ran 2.89 seconds for the 20 metre sprint. Ablett's speed is good, but not in the class of the above. 3 seconds or less for the 20 metre sprint puts you in the top 20% at draft combine. Petracca ran 3 seconds flat, which for his build is exceptional and he'd be quicker now having been in the AFL system for years. Some comments on Petracca pre-draft (different links): "When he goes forward, he proves to be an extremely difficult match-up: he's strong on the lead and tricky at ground level. His quick thinking in tight spaces is elite, and he also has leg speed to get out of trouble or hunt down opponents." "Despite carrying much more weight than most midfielders his age he has elite agility and evasion with an excellent sprint." St Kilda FC ✔@stkildafc Christian Petracca has just completed the 20 metre sprint! The result: 3 seconds flat. #AFLCombine 6:00 PM - Oct 1, 2014
  7. What an odd thing to say. His speed is very good. Especially for a Mack Truck.
  8. That's fine, we disagree. Pedersen, Gawn, Hogan, McDonald is one tall too many. And if he plays it won't be in the backline.
  9. He had the engine to carry our ruck stocks when the others were out, but doesn't have the engine to play as a tall forward ? He's not in my ideal best 22, but he's easily fit enough for a forward role until McDonald returns.

Garlett is a regular 40 goal small forward with speed. He creates goals out of opportunities others can't. His speed and crumbing ability is a must have for me. I also think his ability to pressure and harass in the forward 50 is better than Bugg's. Given the choice of Bugg or Garlett I'm taking Garlett every day of the week. For me, Bugg is competing with a defensive forward like Neal-Bullen for a game. Or the likes of Melksham. They have him covered. I too like Hannan and Fritsch and won't be leaving either out for Bugg.
  11. Garlett not selected ? DeeSpencer lost the plot when he changed his username.
  12. I can't believe people are flaming Wilson. It's a newsworthy story and she happens to be a journalist.
  13. No problem. I just think people need to be careful how they interpret articles they're sharing.
  14. How do you extrapolate "in some doubt" and turn that into "Oliver likely to miss" ? Especially when it says in said article "the club still expects him to play". You surely see the problem here.
  15. Where does it say "Oliver likely to miss" ? 'Likely' being the operative word.
  16. Having a premiership quality list doesn't mean you're ready to win the premiership. With experience and maturation we do have a premiership quality list, imo.
  17. Ben Guthrie has a different take as to where the bandage was. Oliver copped a knock to his right knee in the club's second JLT Community Series clash against St Kilda and has been on modified duties since then. However, the Demons are confident Oliver, who had his right knee bandaged, will be right to go against Geelong and although he did not join in full training, the reigning best and fairest winner moved well. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-03-19/light-duties-at-training-for-demons-in-doubt
  18. But if Scully never left I don't believe we would have gone after Hogan. The Scully compensation was all part of the mix that enabled a deal to be done.
  19. Many posters are questioning the timing of the article, which I understand, but I suspect it's because some of the pertinent details of the saga have only recently come to light. With the passage of time details are more likely to surface.
  20. They lack the heft of the originals.
  21. Not a fan. It's subtle, but none of the new versions seem as strong as the old. If I was a Hawthorn or Bulldogs fan I'd be doubly annoyed as their versions smack of weakness. There's something way too nice about them.
  22. Percentage of Dangerfield playing ? Zero. I think Ablett and Cockatoo play, assuming the latter plays for Geelong's VFL team as he's selected to. So I see their outs as Dangerfield, Henderson, and Selwood, while Tom McDonald will probably join Viney on the sidelines for us.
  23. Good article and unlike another poster I thought it was insightful.
  24. Gillon is a [censored], who is too influenced by the Yanks and other sports. His super panel is just another example.
  25. Whisky review #21: 1495 Blended Scotch Whisky Here's one to avoid, Read on at your own peril! This whisky is called 1495 which refers to the first mention in historic text of the distillation of whisky in Scotland. I could go on but this whiskey doesn't deserve the attention. This is bad whisky! My lowest scoring whisky yet! http://kevlikeswhiskey.blogspot.com.au/2016/06/whisky-review-22-1495-blended-scotch.html
