The disrespect shown to a young developing player, such as the cretinous post above, who has had tremendous recent personal loss, plus his own not inconsiderate health scares, absolutely sickens me.

What sort of "hurtful, personal comments" are you referring to ?

Yeah, I know. There's no consistency in some of their decisions. I just hate the "woe is me" mentality from some supporters on here. It's a loser's mentality. I think two weeks is a bit stiff, but it doesn't rate highly on my care factor scale. Vince deserves a holiday for stupidity. I'm not sure there's too much for supporters to be up in arms about.

All incidents are treated in isolation, so forget about player 'X' from another club. It's irrelevant. I thought the elbow was probably a one week penalty, but if his poor record deems it's 2 so be it. It's called "personal responsibility".

I have no clue what you're on about. But having just watched my favourite tennis player of all time I'm not fussed.

So now we have supporters second guessing our medical staff from thousands of kilometres away based on a television screen shot. Stupidity knows no bounds.

Discussion on Hogan's body language is arguably the most overrated topic I think I've witnessed in football. It's a non issue.

Frost is a chronic fumbler.

He'll get off the bump, as he was committed and braced himself more than anything. I suspect he'll get a week for the elbow (depending on his record) but the contact with the elbow was so minimal it's conceivable he'll get off. Deserves a week for stupidity.

So much analysis and intrigue for a young player that has simply missed a lot of footy. People love to over complicate what's not complicated.

Justify what ? I answered a question. This is the question: "As a matter of interest, how many of you responding to this topic (or any) would modify the nature of your posting if you were identified by your real names?" But, to answer your question, no, I don't. But thanks for being interested.

I agree. People disagree, but as far as overly personal attacks go it's hard to remember many if any.

For the record, my identity is known to some other posters on here.

For the first dozen or so years I doubt I'd put a poster on ignore. I now have 11, although I think 3 of those have been permanently banned (Stuie, Deeluded, and Curry). So if you quite often quote me and get no response it's a fair chance you're on my list : ) The only reason I ban posters is if they lose all objectivity and continually bait or respond to the name more than the post itself. I love robust conversation, but those that can't argue on merit get 'ignored'. If you're not sure if you're on the list send me a pm. Oh, that's right, you can't. It makes this place far more enjoyable.

I disagree about the training reports guy. He attacks others far more needlessly than he is needlessly attacked (for want of a better word).

He played out the Geelong game. Injured against Richmond, along with Spencer.

While it's titillating for a moment it's a minor issue that is occurring in thousands of workplaces around the country. It's happening today, tomorrow and will be in 50 or 150 years. As usual, it's the parties we don't hear from that are hurt the most. But that's their business.

Would be an interesting thread (probably done many times). I don't agree with your five, but it's a fluid and often changing measure.

Stretch doesn't yet have enough credits in the bank to have a combined 21 disposals in two games of football playing in the midfield and expect to be retained. Obvious is obvious.

Melbourne midfield ranked worst in AFL by Champion Data
Gator replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
OK, the midfield rankings have been updated and we rank equal 4th (top 6) at the time of posting (after round 16) according to Glenn Luff from Champion Data on SEN. Meteoric rise from 18 at the start of the year. -
Not really. They have very few options. Minimal change.

Clearly Goodwin doesn't have him close to the best 22, so he's not going to play him for the sake of it. So what else do you expect him to publicly say ? You don't have to like it, but I suggest you deal with it.

I completely agree with the OP and Petracca ranks 2nd in the AFL since round 12 for improvement in his player rating (behind only Dustin Martin). TMac is 6th and Oliver 20 for the same criteria.
