Jayden Laverde, is absolute standout for me, just ticks all the boxes, of the modern big midfield , great mark too, and quick and tall and strong. Classic footballer. Laverde and Mccartin for me. If St Kiilda don't take Petracca, then he overrides all other considerations, then would take Petracca and Wright, assuming McCartin goes to saints. I see Laverde as much more upside and growth potential compared to Brayshaw, who to me lacks the x factor.

Assuming that St Kilda take Christian Patracca, which is widely expected in the Media, l like Patrick McCartin at 2, and Jayden Laverde at 3. I like Laverde above the other midfielders on offer, because of his size, body strength, marking and goal kicking attributes. At 189 cm and 82 kg, he is the perfect build for AFL, a classic footballer with the body work, the hand skills and decision making, a love for the one on one contest, and enormous natural ability. Throw in vertical leap and pace off the step, and he is the complete package with no risk. Local boy too.
