Just spoke to a colleague of mine at Champion Data and asked about Nicholls. Apparently the last game he umpired was the Swans game he actually gave Melbourne more frees than Sydney. He couldn't comment on other games. Unless he is a Hawthorn Supporter he might as bad as we think?

I saw him at Alice Springs Airport after the Crows game and he sat on his own for about 45 minutes with headphones on while every other player were either speaking to eachother or coach/official. Found it very odd, doesn't strike me as the quiet type.
