  1. Agree with the first sentence to the point it will finish off any remaining senior staff (Hird and Reid), remaining Board directors and shame those directly and indirectly involved at the Club. Disagree with the 2nd sentence. If the records did exist (evidence?) then they could have been destroyed before Vlad's advice to self report or indeed any time after. And if they did exist they may still well be in existence in a very hidden place. Your angst is only one of numerous plausible outcomes that we have. And its certainly not the only one. Your third sentence is merely your view based on your flawed logic. The lack of record evidence has prevented Essendon being convicted upon the evidence.
  2. Agree. But I can understand him telling a club president that they have been named in a serious report if he had the best interests of the game. He nor anyone was not to know what had transpired at Essendon during the previous 18 months. But it does not take away from the sheer culpability of those in charge at Essendon for whole appalling mess. You cant work it out?? Really?? Given what has transpired you do understand why Essendon unaminously attacked the AFL so hard? Staggering......... The 36 hours would be neither here nor there given if the records did exist then EFC had plenty of time to dispose of the records pre Vlad and certainly post Vlad. ASADA did not have the resources to run a chook raffle at a primary school so they would not have been able to respond appropriately upon the ACC announcement. I know you are deeply frustrated at the failure of those culpable being brought to account but dipping into absurdity and hyperbole does not lend you any credibility.
  3. We just need to get rid of the scourge of betting agency ads that plague and degrade all sports at the ground and through the media.
  4. It's not a Manuka problem. It infects all Australian sport including cricket.
  5. I wouI be pretty excited too. GWS were very impressive.
  6. In most employment arrangements the program IP would be company property and conditions of employment would normally cover protection of company IP and confidentiality of company data. Your proposed course of action woul fall foul of all those requirements without necessarily protecting your position. Not that Dank is to believed but whatever went on just fails every reasonable test of basic governance. Neither Dank nor Essendon hold much credibility out of this. And Hird and Reid moral status is only for the naive true believers.
  7. Not that I would believe Dank at all. He is the sort of person who makes your skin crawl much like Ricky Nixon. Who at EFC did he give the records to? It is disturbing that the records which were clearly highly important were: 1. Only kept in physical form. There were no computer records of arrangements. There are a number of affordable software programs that could have handled and stored this information of the players supplement arrangements. 2. "the material, including the names of the supplements used, the names of the players administered, the dosage levels and frequency, was left at the club," he said. "Each folder was labelled with the specific supplement and included relevant research papers. - So important files were merely .......left at the Club!! No one in charge....no one controlling the documents. - So there were relevant research papers but no checked to see that everything was legal and appropriate with ASADA. Regardless of the appalling miscarriage of moral justice in respect of Hird and Reid, this guy should never ever be let in a sporting club again. And it only further indicates how shambolic the whole supplement arrangement was at Essendon and that those "in charge" or in roles of responsibility should be shamed and exited from the sport.
  8. Totally agree binman. I cant believe it has not generated more comment. Very perceptive post that has been lost in all the petty nitpicking.
  9. 1. McDonald 2. Tyson 3. Jones 4. Garland 5. Dunn 6. Garlett A great first up effort from Newton, Hogan, Brayshaw, VDBurg and Frost
  10. Good summary Redleg. I don't like the outcome. The major reason is that it gives a Little Hird and Reid a sense of misguided self righteousness. And I think you are probably right on ASADA too. I am not sure ASADA has additional/new evidence to put to justify an appeal. And if they do have it why wasn't it tabled earlier?
  11. Very well said. There is much misplaced hubris on this site. We shouldn't be casting stones at other clubs. But this is a disaster for the game and the AFL......and by consequence MFC.
  12. Got a reliable source (eg press report) or is that your opinion?
  13. Australia toyed with England like a killer whale with a sea pup. Really impressive polished performance especially when Watson and Hazlewood had days to forget. Clarke and Faulkner have to come in and Watson and Hazlewood will go. Bailey did his job well yesterday. And with the all round benefits of Faulkner and Marsh, we have Watson covered.
  14. If they haven't twigged yet they're not going get it now. Its a shrinking minority that drink their PR kool aid.
  15. It's not just a matter of sacking the Board but providing an acceptable alternative to the Little led disaster. And pro Little.
  16. We did the same with Byron Pickett in 2006/07
  17. I am sure you take media comments with a grain.... But you would not expect any other type of comment in public. FWIW, Roos has been outspoken on FA. Roos has been around long enough to read flaky characters like the above like a book.
  18. Both bog ordinary in the largely talentless draft of 2003. What a talent train wreck.
  19. Given what's revealed in the medical tests he has an uphill battle to return to fitness. He has further uphill battle to establish his value this year to justify a contract extension. If was he was fit and MFC weren't going to re contract him then it could organise a mercy trade to another club for a low grade pick to at least give the kid another go at AFL.
  20. You can't be that dim can you! I have said quite clearly Hird should be banned. It's just not that clear how that mechanism will happen. I have merely expressed a view on this situation. You don't like it (nor can you accurately present it). Grow up.
  21. Compton, regardless of the decision of the tribunal, all those with positions of responsibility in the EFC footy dept should have been banned from sport for good. That has not happened to date and I doubt that it will. And the culpability goes beyond just Hird. It's Thompson, Cameron and Dr Reid. In addition, any board member who was in place during 2012 should also go. I don't think the tribunal position makes it any easier for EFC to exit Hird as the tribunal is about the players misdemeanours. The very fact that they have been put in this position that they face a tribunal is appalling. Further I don't think the tribunal outcomes will make it any easier for EFC to sack Hird. His current contract allegedly expires in about 18 months. I wonder if they believe that seeing his contract to expiry will be easier and less financially imposing than sacking him now and triggering another burst of vexatious litigation by Hird.
  22. Bravo. Well done. Was there a chapter on irony as well?
  23. EFC will struggle to form a legally sound case to sack Hird given the complete lack of governance at the club in 2012 and the fact that this tribunal is about the players actions and not Hird. I would have asked to borrow your copy of Rumsfeld's words but on second thoughts its clearly provided little enlightenment to your good self.
  24. It's also how much Essendon are prepared to pay him out ( contract and avoid litigation) vs letting him finish his contract.
  25. I asked this of another poster....... "And how does a contract signed in 2013 retrospectively apply to activities in 2012 which the EFC were aware of?" And the adverse tribunal findings will be against the players and not Hird. And I think EFC know full well that if they move on Hird he will litigate aggressively.
